"Personally, I felt this hotel offered good value for money. From the long-distance bus terminal, there are shared minibuses (blue) that take you to the city center, from where it's about a 5-minute walk to the hotel. Since we arrived early and couldn't check in, the hotel staff offered us tea first. The man in front of us was rather aloof, perhaps due to language barriers, but another man (probably the owner) was much more welcoming and helped me with my luggage to my room. The hotel is conveniently located near many amenities, including supermarkets, restaurants, and shopping malls. The room rate included breakfast. The room was clean and had a refrigerator. There was heating at night. The next morning, there was a partial power outage, requiring us to climb stairs to the restaurant, but it was quickly restored. Breakfast started at 8:00 AM, not 7:30 AM as stated on the website. Also, I must point out that the breakfast food wasn't fresh; it seemed to be leftovers from the previous day, refrigerated and then taken out again. While thrift is commendable, it depends on the situation."

"It was a good hotel and Mr. Mert and Nihat were very nice and spoke Persian. Breakfast was always cooked and there were always fixed cheeses and omelettes and boiled eggs. There were all kinds of jams, but there was no coffee and only sachets of Nescafe. The rooms were cleaned upon request. There was always tea in the hotel lobby and cold drinking water was always available. It is in the center of Chumhuriyet Street and access to everything was easy and convenient. About 70% of the passengers were Iranians when we were here. There is no safe in the rooms. We stayed in Shahrivar 404 and overall it is a great hotel with good staff, but overall it is a very good hotel."

"The hotel room showed the sign of age but it was still clean. I was happy to have offered an upgrade of room with good view of the Van lake. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep well because the centralised air conditioning system made me sweat throughout the night. The room was so hot! Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast offered many choices of food. We also dined in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was average."
