"The front desk staff was very welcoming and told me they'd upgraded my room by two categories. I had to wait a bit during check-in, and the lobby manager actually helped me speed up the process. When I was heading to my room, a young man proactively offered to help with my luggage. The surroundings of the hotel are very pleasant and quiet. Getting to the room by elevator was a bit inconvenient; we rented a car in Hainan and parked it on the 2nd-floor parking lot. We had to take one elevator to the 3rd floor, and then another elevator to get to the 7th floor, and the room was quite a walk from there. The same applied when going down. When we went out for food, driving back and forth, we had to switch elevators. Also, the room's cleanliness wasn't great, as you can see in the pictures."

"The front desk upgraded our room for free, and we could watch the sunrise over the sea right from our room – highly recommend! The pool wasn't too crowded, so it was perfect for kids. The hotel is also very close to the peninsula, which has lots of great food options. You can even go clamming on the beach right below the hotel. Recommended!"

"The facilities are admittedly a bit old; the decor, TV, and bathroom definitely show their age. However, my overall stay was very pleasant. The hotel's backyard opens right onto a beachfront, connected to the famous lighthouse. The beach sand is fine and smooth. You can go for a swim or look for marine life, and it's super convenient to just head back to your room to refresh afterward. The gym and pool aren't in this hotel, but you can take a shuttle to use the Hilton pool next door. Our butler, Angela (Xiao Tang), provided excellent service; she was responsive, enthusiastic, and thoughtful."

"Wutong Jiuli was absolutely stunning! The entire courtyard is brimming with artistic flair, with its beautifully designed landscapes of wood, stone, and coconut trees. Both the soft furnishings and hard construction are beyond 5-star standards; the natural stone walls and wooden guest rooms exude high-end quality, and the bathroom and bedding configurations are meticulously chosen. The private hot spring is private and comfortable, and the cleanliness is thorough and well-executed. The butler service is attentive and perfectly balanced. It's tranquil and healing, offering far better value for money than similarly priced guesthouses and hotels of the same star rating. A must-stay when in Wanning, truly excellent value!"
Wanning Half-Mountain Seacliff Lighthouse Pool Villa (Shenzhou Peninsula Potougang Branch)
"The room was great, with amazing sea views. It faces the lighthouse directly, and while there were many people queuing to go up, we could enjoy the lighthouse and bay scenery right from our room. We even launched our drone from the balcony, which was absolutely fantastic. The service was also very warm and welcoming. There's a small sandy area and some rocks below the hotel, and after the tide goes out, there are lots of crabs, perfect for kids who want to try a bit of 'beachcombing'. The only downside was the limited parking, but that doesn't detract from what was an otherwise perfect experience."

"Facilities: The central pool is great for photos. You can also use electric scooters for free, or if you don't want to, the owner can shuttle you to Riyue Bay. Cleanliness: No issues, very tidy. Travel Photography Package (includes three complimentary photos): You can get free photos taken with a camera; I saw many girls getting their pictures done. If you're visiting Riyue Bay, this is a good place to stay. Many of the restaurants and dessert shops (like Qingbuliang) that you see online are located in this village, which is very convenient. Recommended!"

"The biggest surprise of our Hainan trip was the Grand Hyatt Shenzhou Peninsula. The hotel upgraded us to a family suite. As soon as we entered and saw the bunk beds and stuffed animals, the kids were thrilled! My child absolutely loved riding the shuttle bus; he found it so novel, especially sitting in the back row. Perhaps it was the benefit of traveling during the off-season, but the shuttle buses arrived very quickly. The service was excellent. The pool was my child's favorite; we spent three days there during our three-day stay. The kids also participated in many family activities. The food was delicious across the board. We had dinner at the Fish Restaurant, and the taste was great. The breakfast at the Western restaurant had a comfortable dining environment, and the dishes were exquisite. The pandan souffle was truly delicious! The Chinese restaurant, however, was a bit hot and had quite a few flies. After checking out, my child was very reluctant to leave, hoping to have the chance to visit again."

"The room was surprisingly clean and hygienic, giving us a warm and comfortable feeling. There was no musty smell as soon as we opened the door. The room also provided free disposable towels and a dryer. The service was very thoughtful, and the housekeeper was also very friendly. They responded promptly to our WeChat messages. When we needed more hangers after washing clothes late at night, they delivered them to us at 11 or 12 o'clock. Best of all, they upgraded us to a sea view room free of charge! It's also very close to the beach! It's simply amazing! My family also loves the service here!"
