Namsan Tower is a classic. Visiting Seoul and not going up there is like not seeing the sights. It's best to take the cable car up – the views of Seoul are truly stunning. You can even wear love locks, like in dramas. If you have someone to hang them with.

Cable Car

Take Subway Line 4 to Myeongdong Station, Exit 3. Walk about 10–15 minutes uphill to reach the Namsan Cable Car station. The ride takes about 3 minutes and offers great city views.

  • Round trip fare: about $11.25 (₩15,000)

  • One way: about $9.00 (₩12,000)

  • Child fare: about $6.75 – $8.60 (₩9,000 – ₩11,500)

Shuttle Bus and Elevator

A public shuttle bus (numbers 01A and 01B) runs from Myeongdong and nearby districts up to Namsan Tower. The fare is about $1.05 (₩1,400) and you can use your T-money card.

You can also use the Namsan Oreumi, a free inclined elevator, which connects the lower city to the cable car station.

Hiking Trails

Namsan Park offers several hiking trails that lead to the tower. Depending on your route and pace, the scenic walk takes 30 to 90 minutes. 

Taxi or Car

Taxis can drop you off near the cable car station or shuttle stops. Personal vehicles are not allowed to go all the way to the top. Paid parking is available near the park entrance.
