Baix Maestrat Beach Hotels

I rarely write reviews of holiday accommodations, but this time I simply couldn't resist sharing my experience. My wife and I traveled to Peñíscola to experience a total solar eclipse, perhaps the only one we will ever witness in our lifetime. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to what we thought would be an ideal observation point: the walls of the Templar castle in Peñíscola. However, the local authorities closed the site to visitors in anticipation of the influx of eclipse enthusiasts, and suddenly I found myself facing a serious problem: the eclipse would take place behind the mountains, below the horizon. And this is where the Owner of the wonderfully charming Hostal Dios Está Bien stepped in. I asked her for help, hoping for some useful local advice. What did I receive instead? An invitation to join her family in watching this extraordinary celestial event while sharing their family dinner! What began as a perfectly normal, albeit exceptionally warm, interaction with the hotel's staff evolved into something truly special. There was a bottle of surprisingly good wine waiting for us upon arrival, friendly conversations every time we met, and, in the end, family stories and photographs shared around the table. Never before have we experienced such openness and kindness, and I truly feel that we have gained new friends. Thank you. We sincerely hope that one day we will have the opportunity to return your extraordinary hospitality. And all of this took place in a small, charming, beautifully maintained hotel, housed in a historic building in the heart of Peñíscola, where delicious homemade breakfasts are served every morning. I wish everyone could have an experience like this.

The hotel is in a great location, just opposite the beach, and is the best choice for watching the sunrise early in the morning. The hotel is new, the room is clean, there is no refrigerator or kettle, maybe it's cold at the beach. There is an underground parking lot opposite, and it feels like it's okay to park on the roadside. I forgot to buy breakfast the day before, but when I bought it the next day, it was still given to me at the booked price, which was very nice

Very satisfactory stay experience, the front desk guy was very friendly and enthusiastic, and the room was very comfortable.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city centre. The only stick I would put is that I would say regularly throwing in disturbance, for the rest a good stay with the luxury of being in front of the sea.

The hotel is modern and new and just sea front we had booked room with terrace so we thought that we would have sea view room but there was no sea view, only next building. Apart from this everything was ok

Nice hotel with pool. Close to the beach and boulevard, but i did not like the beach area as this was less attractive compared to f.e. *****cola

The hotel is very comfortable and complete. It is not entirely in the centre but to move through the area is very good. Very complete

The hotel is located quite far from Peñíscola, although there is a local bus service that stops right in front of the hotel, making connections between Peñíscola and other nearby towns quite good. The rooms are large and spacious, with a terrace, which is even more enjoyable if it faces the pool area. Two very large beds and a spacious bathroom with a shower and bathtub will make your stay much more pleasant. A refrigerator and safe are also available in the room. It has several restaurants, both buffet and à la carte. I can only comment on the breakfast, which was quite comprehensive. It has spa services that can be booked there through their website. Parking is expensive. If you want a free option, you'll have to leave your car on the first street in Benicarló, but in the summer months, parking will be quite difficult. Overall, a good hotel for enjoying Peñíscola and its surrounding towns.

Very good overall. Perfectly adequate apartment. Much more spacious than the pictures do it justice. Exceptional value for the price. Pro's- Grounds maintained immaculately, large pool, 5 mins walk to centre of town and large supermarket. Two balconies/terraces facing different directions. Very friendly service at check-in and out. Con's- Shower head holder and toaster need replacing. Possible lack of parking if the place was full. No actual allocated spot. Would return
