I booked this hotel for a concert in Singapore. Room rates in Singapore are generally quite high, and the rooms are typically small, similar to those in Japan. The cleanliness was acceptable, but it was a bit of a walk to the subway.

Staff was friendly when approached. Location is very good near a MRT station and enough restaurants. Breakfast was good and had enough variation but the offerings outside were very tempting. I requested a room with a high view at the stadium and the water. But the pictures on the bookingsite are very old and not valid anymore. There are taller buildings located between the V-Lavender hotel and the stadium now. The City view was not breathtaking but ok. A pity the windowsill was made of marble/stonelike material so not really comfortable to sit. But it still offers a nice place to sit and look outside with a (free) cup of tea of coffee.

Very good location, decent room size. But terribly small bathroom. It was to the point where you will have to open the bathroom door if you want to use the shower after using the toilet… water pressure was decent but not strong to my liking. 

But thank you to front desk who allowed early check in and upgraded my room as well.

Front desk Michelle was always fantastic and professional..and housekeeping from level 4 also,keeping the room very clean and fresh.

It’s a great experience staying at the hotel. Have a lot of amenities and facilities that suits our needs. Service provided by front desk is great also

The hotel is located in the city center with convenient transportation. FairPrice and 7-Eleven are nearby. The front desk staff are friendly and offer services in Mandarin,thank you to the staff member named Lishumei,they were great. The downside is that the rooms are not very soundproof, but the guests are generally well-behaved, so it's not too noisy.

Good hotel to stay. Need to walk long distance to get HALAL food. Easy to get snacks and drinks from supermarket beside the hotel. Pillow is flat and mattress is just OK. Personally I rate my experience as above average like 7.5/10.

Pros: Relatively new compared to others in the Hotel 81 chains; close to MRT and bus routes; lots of restaurants around; front desk and maintenance staff are lovely, helpful, and responsive; daily housekeeping and provides clean towels, extra pillows, etc. 

Cons: Poor sound-proofing infrastructure. You can literally hear every single thing in the hallway, the room next door, above and below you. Furthermore, while the room itself, sheets, and towels are clean, i’ve noticed some yellow stains on the sheets and some towels. Not sure what they are so that’s why I asked for new ones.  

Overall, not a bad stay. If you’re only visiting for a few days and are not fussy about the room size and loud noises, this place meets all of the requirements.

This hotel is incredibly convenient for transportation. Trains and buses are right nearby, making it easy to reach all the attractions. The breakfast is extensive, and the staff are very enthusiastic. The only minor drawback is that the Deluxe King Room is a bit small.

🛏️ Hotel 81｜Budget Stay That Does the Job

If you’re just looking for a place to sleep in Singapore that won’t burn a hole in your wallet, Hotel 81 is your best bet. It was the cheapest option I could find, and honestly, it gets the job done.

The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the basics I needed. Big plus: my room had a window, which made a huge difference in making the space feel less claustrophobic. Don’t expect luxury — this is purely a functional stay.

It’s not a place for lounging or extended stays, but if you just need a safe, air-conditioned room to crash in after a full day out, Hotel 81 delivers. Would definitely consider staying again for a short stopover.

It is similar to a B&B apartment. It seems to be newly opened in 2024. Its location is relatively remote. Entering from a small road, the navigation can hardly find the door. The interior of the room is relatively simple. A deposit of 200 baht is required at the front desk. Two sandwiches are given for breakfast. , 2 bottles of Coke are provided for free in the refrigerator in the room. There is a 7-11 convenience store 500 meters next to it, and the environment is very quiet.

The room was very clean and the bosses were very welcoming. That day, it happened to be the Mid-Autumn Festival and sent us moon cakes. The bosses planted oranges in their own homes. We sat in the yard and had green tea.
Must try his home made Qingjiang fish and Jingyang chicken, really delicious.
Go to Butterfly Rock to buy a ticket can find the boss to buy, very convenient, they will also tell you the boarding time in advance, VIP priority on board.
