"Choosing the Kaiyuan Mingdu Resort in Huangguoshu for our family trip was a great decision. The hotel is very close to the scenic area, making getting around super convenient. "The rooms were decent. I booked two rooms, but didn't check in until after 11 PM with my kids. We went out for a quick meal and by the time we returned, it was past midnight. The hotel lobby was completely dark, and I couldn't find anyone on duty. After finally making it upstairs, the key card for one of the rooms wasn't working, and the number on the card was out of service. I had to contact the hotel through Ctrip to get the card reactivated before I could open the door. The guy who came to help was nice and polite. However, once we got into the room, there were no slippers or bath mats. It was too late, so I didn't want to bother anyone again, and just grabbed a pair from my kids' room. Later, I also discovered the doorbell was broken, and the sink drain was a bit clogged, so I couldn't let the water run continuously 😓. There was also hardly any hand soap left!"
