This well appointed cottage is a new build in the style of the original 1890s Four Square house sharing the property and is four blocks to the Town Square and Courthouse. The original house has been placed on the historic register and lays within the East Prescott Historic District. The bricks are the original chimney bricks from the fireplaces and wainscoting on the walls have the original paint. The hall light fixture is original to the house and the bathroom light fixtures are from a 1800 cattle ranch in Australia. The pictures are 1960’s original watercolors of the Prescott and Arizona landscape. The cottage suite has a private entrance, a small covered patio shared with a old wood-burning cookstoves, and a welcoming purple door. The raised deck, bbq and fire pit belong to the main house. The courthouse square is a short walk and a great place to enjoy the beautiful courthouse and tall elms trees. Maybe enjoy an ice cream or a drink from the Palace balcony. There are art and craft fairs, parades, car shows, the famous Fourth of July Rodeo which boasts the oldest rodeo in the USA. A famous Halloween where they close Mount Vernon Street and young and old come in costumes to trick-or-treat! Christmas tree lighting in the park square and a famous boot drop on New Year’s Eve. Great hiking and three lakes to choose from. The beautiful tall elms and many Victorian homes dating to the 1880s. Three close wineries, whiskey tasting, mead tasting and a variety of pubs. Perfect for one person or a couple, this quiet, comfortable studio is a cozy home away from home. The big picture window in the main room looks out onto a grassy area with fenced yard and spectacular sunset views. This freshly painted studio has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. There are 3 steps into the studio from outside and it is not wheelchair accessible. The main area has a love seat and queen sized bed. The full kitchen is equipped with a full-sized range, refrigerator and microwave. Along with smaller appliances like a Keurig and drip coffee maker, blender, hand mixer and toaster. Also included for convenience are spices, cooking oil, coffee/tea and coffee supplies, paper products, cleaning supplies and trash bags. The oak cabinets are fully stocked with all the cookware you need to create a great meal if you feel like dining in. The quaint dining table seats 2 and has room to set for a full meal. Birch Cottage also features a walk-in closet and a shared new stackable washer/dryer in the laundry area just off the closet. There is one bathroom with a pedestal sink, roomy shower, plenty of hot water and lots of fluffy towels. There is free Wi-Fi and Direct TV with HBO. A flat screen tv which is visible from all areas of the room. In the shared, fenced backyard, perfect for your pup, there is a patio table, umbrella and 6 chairs. There is also a shared covered patio in front, with table, chairs, BBQ and a fire pit (see pictures) We have on-site parking.Birch Cottage, Aspen Cottage (VRBO #679470) and Cedar Cottage (VRBO #679471) are on the same property. They work great for individual renting and could also be used for a family reunion, or friends all attending one of the many events Prescott has to offer. Located on one of the prettiest residential streets in the historic district, South Mount Vernon is just 5 blocks from the downtown square and you can enjoy walking past the gracious historic homes on the lovely tree-lined street to get there.
