The biggest surprise of my Dali trip wasn't the ancient city or Erhai Lake, but this forest B&B nestled halfway up Cangshan Mountain 🌿. As we drove up from the city, the urban hustle and bustle slowly faded, replaced by lush greenery and the sound of pine trees swaying in the wind. 🌄 **The Rooftop is Pure Soul:** I was absolutely stunned the moment I stepped onto the rooftop – the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain stood behind me like a majestic screen, with the entire Erhai Lake and scattered Bai ethnic villages stretching out below. The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple were faintly visible. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed a sea of rolling clouds. In the evening, I'd sit on the swing chair on the terrace, watching the sunset paint Erhai Lake a honeyed gold 🍯. At night, a glance upwards showed the Milky Way so clearly it brought tears to my eyes ✨. 🌿 **Immersive Mountain Living:** Hydrangeas were in full bloom in the courtyard, and dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto the wooden floors. The natural wood-toned room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, making it feel like sleeping right in the forest 🌲. There were also three resident cats, each with their own unique personality, taking turns on patrol. Heartwarming Service but Disappointing Room Layout & Location 1. Amazing Staff Support: • As foreigners without Chinese phone numbers, we couldn't rent the ”Snoopy” electric cars. The staff went above and beyond, using their own accounts to scan, pay, and even remotely lock/unlock the cars for us throughout the day. They even handled the return process when there were technical issues. • Flexible Service: They were kind enough to serve breakfast at 8:00 AM (30 minutes earlier than scheduled) to accommodate our early plans. ＞＞＞ The staff here are the biggest plus. They were incredibly welcoming, enthusiastic, and supported us throughout our stay in Dali. Whether it was helping with our heavy luggage or providing local recommendations, their hospitality was genuine and much appreciated. 2. Room Layout: Not as Expected We booked a ”2-bedroom suite,” but it was actually two separate rooms with private entrances and no shared indoor area. The second room was extremely small; with two large suitcases open, there was almost no space to move. The photos on the listing were quite misleading regarding this separate layout. 3. Location & Accessibility The homestay is in a quiet, isolated area with no shops or restaurants within walking distance. You have to take a taxi for everything (5–30 mins to major attractions), which adds significant costs to your trip. ===＞ While the people here are wonderful, the high price doesn't quite match the room's convenience and location. Best suited for those who don't mind taking taxis and want a quiet stay.

This homestay is definitely the best choice for my trip to Dali! The environment is quiet and elegant, the courtyard design is full of ingenuity, and the boss's intentions are all in the grass and wood. The location of the homestay is quiet, parking is super convenient, and there is no need to worry about self-driving. The most surprising thing is the quiet atmosphere here, there is no noise, and the night is accompanied by the breeze to sleep, which is particularly comfortable. The room details are even more perfect! Smart toilet, soft and comfortable shower, high-quality spare parts, everywhere reflect the care for the needs of the guests. The whole homestay is spotless from the corridor to the guest rooms, and this meticulousness is touching. The boss is warm and caring, warm like a friend, and always gives the most authentic travel advice. If you come to Dali, don't miss this treasure homestay, believe me I will definitely want to come again after staying!

We loved our stay here. This place feels like such a relaxing retreat, it’s so peaceful , especially with the rooms looking into the beautiful courtyard. Loved the plants and the decor of this place. The rooms are big ans comfortable and there’s even a projector! The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us with some travel arrangements we were trying to make. Would recommend this place! Wish I could spend more time here just to relax.

This was my first time staying at a hotel under the HUAZHU brand, and I was really impressed by the comfort and the thoughtful, high-quality facilities! All the staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, always doing their best to meet our needs. The hotel's location on Cang'er Avenue offers the best photo opportunities, and there are tons of great restaurants nearby. It's also super close to Dali Ancient City, making getting around a breeze! And seriously, don't miss out on the hotel breakfast – that bowl of minced pork noodles was to die for!

We had a wonderful stay at Dali Wanggong Hotel. The hotel’s design is elegant, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. Our room included a lovely children’s tatami bed, which our child absolutely loved—it made the stay even more special for our family. One of our favorite moments was sitting on the balcony in the afternoon, enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect way to unwind. A special thank you to the wonderful concierge team—Xiaoyin, Xiaoxu, Xiaomin, and Xiaohang. They were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and always went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Their warm hospitality truly made us feel welcome. During our stay, the hotel was preparing for a wedding, and the setting looked absolutely stunning. It made us think that this would be an incredibly romantic venue for a wedding. We highly recommend Dali Wanggong Hotel to anyone visiting Dali and would love to stay here again in the future!

We had a great stay at Country Inn by Radisson in Dali and would happily stay here again. It offers excellent value for money, very friendly service, and clean, comfortable rooms in a convenient location. Location: The hotel is around a 10-minute Didi ride from Dali Ancient City, the Three Pagodas, and the Old Tea Horse Trail and 15min ride to Longkan Pier, making it easy to explore the main attractions on the West side. There are also plenty of convenient shared rental scooters available outside each morning, and taxis arrive quickly. Room & Cleanliness: Before arriving, we requested a non-smoking room. Our original room was still undergoing a smoke removal treatment, so the staff kindly upgraded us to one of their ”Pure Stay” rooms on the second floor. It was also much quieter, which was appreciated as I needed to work during our stay. The room was clean, spacious, had no smoke smell at all and even had an air purifying system. The hotel feels very new and is well maintained all lights and curtains in the room can be controlled with smart panels. The bed was soft and comfortable, with thick, good-quality duvets that made for a great night's sleep. The air conditioning was excellent and a welcome relief from the summer heat, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout our stay. The bathroom was equally clean, with an automatic flushing toilet featuring a built-in UV sanitiser as part of the Pure Stay room. The shower had excellent water pressure, and as someone with very long, thick hair, I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the shampoo and conditioners. Service The service was one of the highlights of our stay. The front desk staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and eager to help. A special thank you to the two gentlemen at reception who went above and beyond to communicate with us, organise the room upgrade, and even print several work documents for me free of charge. We were also welcomed with a small gift at check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. Facilities: The hotel has a lovely garden with several attractive spots for holiday photos. There is a convenient 24-hour tea and coffee station in the lobby, as well as a large power bank rental station before heading out for the day. The only small suggestion would be to also provide coffee sachets in the guest rooms for added convenience. The complimentary WiFi is an open network, which is a bit risky. It was a little slow for heavier work tasks but was perfectly adequate for normal browsing and everyday use. Breakfast: Breakfast was the only area that did not quite match the rest of our experience. There was a reasonable selection, but we found it fairly basic, particularly for international travellers, and chose to have breakfast elsewhere on our second morning. Overall: This hotel offers excellent value, outstanding cleanliness, genuinely helpful staff, and a convenient location for exploring Dali. If you are looking for a comfortable, modern hotel with friendly service, I would happily recommend staying here.

Overall, my stay here was incredibly comfortable. The hotel boasts excellent scenery and is very quiet, offering a sense of escape that was perfect for me. The afternoon tea and breakfast were both very impressive and lavish. I also received a room upgrade, which was spacious and very pleasant to stay in. It feels like the hotel is aiming for a 'wilderness luxury' vibe, and both the aesthetics and environment are spot on. There's a fantastic activity space in the hotel where you can practice calligraphy, which I personally loved. However, I do have a small suggestion: for a space dedicated to quiet contemplation like this, perhaps some rules regarding quietness are needed. For instance, whether young children are suitable to enter, or if they do, to maintain quietness. Otherwise, if it's noisy while someone is trying to practice calligraphy, it can somewhat impact the experience. I also want to specifically commend the driver who took me to the airport; their service was excellent. In fact, all the staff I encountered were quite dedicated, perhaps because it's a new opening, everyone is very serious about their work. As it's a new hotel, the cleanliness is currently very well maintained. However, with wooden structures like these rooms, future maintenance will be crucial. I hope it continues to be well-maintained, and I'll definitely be back! 😊

Excellent! The room was very spacious, and the afternoon tea spread was fantastic. The owner was also super friendly and even helped us with our luggage. The rice noodles for breakfast were delicious! Highly recommend. It's also incredibly close to the ancient city, just a few minutes' walk away.

This guesthouse is a hidden gem; it truly felt like a home away from home. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but even though it wasn't huge, it was incredibly cozy. The bedding was so comfortable – I hadn't slept well for several nights in other cities, but I slept wonderfully here. The entire room's decor, including the appliances, wood, and bedding, all felt very high-quality; you can tell the owner has excellent taste. When you check in, they create a group chat for communication, which is perfect for introverts like me. The breakfast was plentiful and on the lighter side, gently waking up your stomach before you dive into Yunnan's spicy cuisine. In the particularly sunny afternoons, you can come back and relax with afternoon tea. I expected just a simple tea, but it was surprisingly elaborate! I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Dali.
