Gero Onsen Yamagataya
"Arrived late due to train delay. The hotel is service oriented to kindly arrange for a pick up service at the train station despite last minute request. Grateful for the service provided."
Yunoshimakan
"I absolutely loved this hotel! It's located on a mountain, and the old building evokes the atmosphere of old Japan. The rooms in the old part have a stunning view of the city—you just want to sit and relax. The service is beyond praise, the food is delicious, and the hot springs are lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"
Ogawaya
"Spacious room, especially love the private hot bath in the balcony. The public onsen are very nice as well, with both indoor and outdoor area. Dinner was well served, with fresh ingredients."
Kawakamiya Kasuitei
"Looked expensive at my first glance. Howwver acknowledged it is worthwhile in 10min. after checkin. Dinner is a must try here. Best romantic experience ever"
Suimeikan
"Stayed at Suimekan Gero Onsen and had a wonderful experience. The staff, especially Adajisan, was incredibly kind, helpful, and gave great recommendations. The hotel offers 3 different onsen baths, very relaxing and well maintained. There is also a game area, making the stay fun and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gero Onsen!"
Bosenkan
"Everything was great. The staff was very helpful and the room was big. It has a stunning garden with a feet onsen and the private onsens are very nice."
Gensennoyado Yumotokan
"The hotel's location and surroundings are great, and it's easy to find! The triple room had decent space, and the facilities provided were well-organized. It's a good hotel overall!"
Mutsumikan
"The stay in Mutsumikan was very good. The Hotel (Ryokan) is very close to the train station. To the center of Gero it takes roundabout 5 minutes by foot. The experience seemed very authentic. Most of the staff understand basic english, so communication was never an issue. Our room was very clean and tidy. Everything you need for a 2 night trip was there. The outdoorbath was pretty small, but that was never an issue with the amount of people staying there. Breakfast and dinner were in a japanese style and very tasty, but maybe not to everyone's palate. Overall the stay was pretty good and I would stay there again."
KKR Gero Shirasagi
"Good location near to park, 15mn. walking on the hill~ The meal is excellent and the service and pepoles are so kind, hospitality! Recommend to stay several days!"

Toraya Inn
"Within the City of Gero, provided with free carpark. We were late (around 9 pm) in checking-in, but the lady was accommodating and gave some ideas where to find dinner at such a late time. The private onsen (extra price) was also good."
Gero Onsen Gero Royal Hotel Miyabitei
"The overall experience was very satisfactory. There was also a Mandarin-speaking waiter who arranged for us from Hong Kong, and the communication was smooth. There is no shuttle bus at the location, but it takes more than ten minutes to walk from the JR station. If the luggage is not heavy, it is not too far. The hotel is beautiful, with a souvenir shop at the entrance and a hot spring pool for footbaths. On the seventh floor are separate hot spring pools for men and women, with an open-air pool. The male soup faces the direction of the station and you can see different scenery in the morning and evening. The female hot spring bath has great privacy, but no scenery. It seems that you can book private bathing for men and women, but we didn't have time to try it this time. The room is large and you can choose to make the bed. It's no problem for four people, but this time it was just my girlfriend and me. The view of the creek outside the room is particularly beautiful at night, but it is very light in the morning. It is recommended to bring your own eye mask to sleep late. There was a special event on Saturday, with many performances and stalls, and it was very atmospheric. Finally, there are meals, breakfast and dinner are not to be missed and can be enjoyed at a few designated times. We stayed for two nights and had different menus for both days. The dishes include the signature Hida beef and fish sashimi, but the cooking methods are different. It was very enjoyable. It is recommended that you do not need to change hotels for two nights."
Geroonsen kisoya Kisoya
"Although the hotel isn't expensive, they offer a pick-up and drop-off service from Gero Station. The hotel is located across the river, next to a supermarket, which is quite convenient. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and you can even ask the hotel to pre-order meals for you, so the service is excellent."
Breezbay Hotel & Resort Gero
"The food was a buffet and was delicious. The welcome drinks and beer were great."
Miyako
"The room is exactly the same as in the photo. The room I booked has an open-air private bath. The water quality of the private bath in the room is the same as that in the hotel, but the temperature is different and relatively lower. Because the time to reserve the rented hot spring is too late, I gave up directly. The room is relatively large, so the air conditioning is not particularly hot, but the Japanese tatami bedding is very warm and very comfortable to sleep. Service: Very good, Japanese service, the luggage is helped by grandfathers or female waiters, which makes me a little embarrassed. Environment: The atmosphere of the hotel decoration is first-class, the courtyard is deep, ancient and quiet. There are skin care products in the room, and pola is good. Great! I chose Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast, the set meal of Hida beef, with sashimi, barbecue and shabu-shabu, haha, not bad."
Sasara
"Very nice staff. 5 minutes walk to the highlight spot, shops and restaurants. You can call taxi from JR station to the hotel (free of charge). After check out, hotel can call taxi for drop off at the station also."
Hida Kanayama Nukumori no Sato Onsen
"The hotel doesn't have many rooms, but the hot springs are very comfortable. There's a restaurant on site with delicious food, and the surrounding environment is beautiful, right next to a stream. The staff are also very attentive in explaining the hotel information. I recommend staying here."
Hotel de Marronnier Gero Onsen
"The hotel is located on a hillside on the edge of Gero City, offering panoramic views of the entire city. It's a bit of a distance from Gero Station, so driving is recommended, but the hotel also provides a shuttle bus."
Gero Springs Hotel
"This place is huge, I've never seen a bigger room around here! It's awesome. The only thing is, it's a bit of a trek from the station, but whatever. I did have a small problem with reception in the morning; I needed a taxi and they said they'd book one, but it never showed up! So I had to sort it out myself. Still, it's a great place, but hopefully, they'll improve their service a bit."
Gero Koyokan Annex Wanpakutei
"We stayed at Wanpakutei, just like last year. We received a gift for our dog shortly after arriving. As our dog is elderly, we were able to get a tatami room on the second floor with a great view, as requested. Dinner was just the right amount, and the Hida beef was delicious."
Minshuku Kappo Shoen
"The room was large, clean, tidy and comfortable. The service was very good. Because I rushed there from Tsumago-juku that day, the bus was late (two hours late). I arrived after 10:30 pm. I originally had to check in before 10 pm. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to stay, but I didn't expect that the boss waited for me and gave me a pot of hot water. Because I was late, I had a private hot spring bath for myself."
Nohohon Park Hida-Osaka (Formerly Hida Osaka Fureai-No-Mori Campground)
"We were able to relax as a family in a log cabin surrounded by nature. Since it's a log cabin or bungalow, there's no need to set up a tent, which is a great advantage for families with small children. The cooking area is covered, so it's safe even on rainy days, and there are plenty of rental items available, so you can come empty-handed. There are insects depending on the season, but that's part of the fun of being able to play freely in nature. There were also simple activities that could be done in between other activities, which made for a valuable experience for the children. Highly recommended for first-time families!"
Koyoi Tenku Ni Asobu Shogetsu
"There is no staff at the front desk, and there is no one to guide you to your room, so I thought they were efficiently staffing the minimum number of staff from the time you met to the time you returned (although this was not a particular problem). Dinner was very delicious. The appetizers are beautifully arranged with steamed abalone, chrysanthemum greens appetizer, salmon roe sushi and ginkgo nuts, simmered bowls made with white miso, sashimi, sweetfish grilled with yuzu miso, and roasted Hida beef, all of which have a good taste and are light in flavor. It was easy to eat, and I left out all of it. Both the rice and red soup were delicious. I also felt comfortable in the large public bath. It's not big, but it's not crowded, so you can reserve the open-air bath for yourself, and it's a good size considering the number of rooms. I still want to use it."
Hotel Miki
"Service is excellent. The meal (Japanese style) is wonderful. Onsan options is one of the best onsan hotels I have ever stayed. It may not be convenient if you don't drive as the location is quite remote, but you can enjoy a peaceful environment."
Yuasobi No Yado Gero Kanko Hotel Honkan
"The hotel is located in Gero City. It has a beautiful appearance. Check-in was quick. The lobby staff can speak fluent English and are very warm and courteous. You can pick up a bathrobe to soak in the hot spring. It is very comfortable. The room is clean and tidy. The only thing is that there is no shower liquid/washing liquid. The hair lotion/conditioner is in the room. You have to go to Reception and ask the staff to get it. I hope the hotel will pay attention. Overall, this hotel has a good value for money. I will stay here again next time."
Gero Onsen Yukyunohana
"Peaceful place. Hotel staffs are nice and helpful. Good to stay."
