"The rooms in the new building are incredibly well-designed, featuring double-layered electric curtains and large floor-to-ceiling windows. In the morning, when the curtains open, the sunlight completely fills the bed. I rarely book a room that gets such fantastic sunlight. The room rate includes breakfast, which is relatively simple, offering items like bread, fruit, and milk. I personally think that's perfectly sufficient nutritionally. You can also order à la carte for breakfast, which offers options similar to what you'd find at a Western-style breakfast place outside. Regarding parking, as there are limited on-site parking spots, I parked at the FOMO car park outside the hotel this time, which was a bit inconvenient. If you need on-site parking, make sure to book in advance. The hotel's ground floor restaurant serves breakfast in the morning and Japanese cuisine in the evening. There's also a Chinese restaurant and other Asian dining options at FOMO, which is not far from the hotel. This place is located right in the heart of Fremantle, so all the attractions are just a short walk away."

"Using Google map, we found the hotel easily. If there is an option for 4.5 star, I would have given that to Service as I find it weird for the need to obtain milk from the reception. None of the lodging we stayed required this. We always had milk in the fridge. It's facilities got a 4 star instead of a 5. The parking lot was full when we returned after dinner and had to park our car near the fencing of the hotel, which did not appear to be a parking lot."

"Absolutely delightful hotel , even though rooms are a little smaller than most , everything was designed practically to ensure a comfortable stay . The room had all the necessities it needed including a nespresso coffee machine which makes it more inviting , along with free bottled water . Check in was a breeze even though we got there early the lovely young lady in reception took the bags to the room and was ready after we explored the area and arrived back closer to 2pm check in , The wine & cheese hour next door was a lovely experience yet again welcoming team ,cosy with a fire pit burning taking the chill off . 1 drink of choice & cheese then pay for anymore drinks which is fair .Breakfast even though simple as described locally sourced bread & a selection of toppings , accompanied by homemade muesli with greek yoghurt . It was just a light start but relaxed to enjoy and watch the world go by in a nice area with some history spread around . I would definitely stay again , well worth the price hassle free nothing was an issue . Bonus even though I didn't use free bike hire along with basic gym equipment if you felt the need to work out . Big thank you for such a great experience."

"The room was spacious, although the overall design felt a little dated. It was well equipped with plenty of in-room amenities, including a washer and dryer, which was very convenient. However, I was quite disappointed with the luggage storage. We arrived a few hours before check-in and asked the staff to store our luggage while we went out. Instead of placing it somewhere secure, our bags were simply left in the hallway. In my experience, other hotels usually tag luggage and store it properly in a designated secure area. For a hotel at this level, I expected a more professional and secure approach to handling guests’ belongings. Unfortunately, this part of the experience was quite disappointing."

"Приехали к отелю и поцеловали замок, хорошо,что на двери был звонок и нам на него ответили и не надо было звонить с телефона, так как у нас не было местной симки. Но все равно с нашим английским было немного не комфортно при заселении. Но сам отель красивый и очень уютный. Номер огромный. Завтрак вкусный. Ещё неприятность - при выселении надо было доплатит 45 баксов"

"Hi , YHA Fremantle Prison, Wow! What an amazing experience and im so glad i stayed here, and thankyou so much for being so accommadting and understanding , and well for letting me book with late notice and guided me to after hours checkin, and well the guy who was working after hours on the 31st May Sunday night,...... 💯👌🙏❤️ so welcoming and was down to earth, and made me feel good about the whole.stay and just a very calming presence and over the phone also , very understanding and reassured me to not stress and be safe and to get here when i get here. He was thankful i got there at reasonable hour, cosidering it was after 9pm , was travelling from the city and through the storm so it was 10.30pm maybe a little after 10.45pm,...... and so he was very grateful but very good about me being a late check in , as i rang to make sure i was able to stay without a passport. I.was very happy to find that i could book without passport 🙏🥹💯❤️👌 I had the best night sleep, the best shower before bed, the facilities were amazing and the whole experience was beyond my expectations and exceeded all my thoughts of what was to be. I cant thank you guys enough! I will be back! Im staying longer next time so i can explore the Fremantle Prison as i have wanted to now for many.of years and the canal tour also ive wanted.to always do. The grounds, the care , the information on history , on every wall, evey building, everything was to standard and presentation that was 11/10 👌💯 brillant! I am and was well impressed! And cant wait to stay again and with a little more pre planning and booking earlier on and having a bit more a plan next trip. As my stay at YHA was very last minute , and because i missed my TransWA bus back to Kojonup.....😏 And well my decision to go up to Perth was very last minute and decision made only 2 days prior to going , and so as it was last minute decision and well i had an idea of a plan of where and who to see while up there, as being last minute things always dont go to plan and so when those moments happened i just rolled with the punches and went with the flow of things, and trusted my gut instinct and trusted my journey and the journey in life i am and well was on while in Perth and so all roads had led me to where i was meant to be , and well all fell into plaxe and worked out in the end and so im grateful beyond words! Truely and honestly 🥹🙏❤️💯😊 Thanks again , and wow amazing stay! And highly recommend! Thankyou so much for the feeling of saftey also being a single female traveller on her own. That also km very appreciative of and grateful beyonds words, so thankyou ❤️🥹 Thanks again Kind regards Tahnee Rai McGlew"

"Pros: Location was fantastic, you can easily walk to most major attractions in Fremantle (mostly within 10 mins). Service was good, we requested some amenities late at night and they delivered promptly. Room and bathroom cleanliness acceptable. Facilities were abit old but working. Some renovation ongoing during my stay but apart from facilities availability, not much disruption to stay. Cons: Rooms and appliances were relatively old, I understand that this is a old established hotel but some update seems due. Room size was abit small compared to others in the neighborhood for the price I paid. Parking is expensive if you are driving. Hotel parking as of Sep 2026 was 30 AUD per day. But then parking is generally expensive everywhere in Fremantle."

"An old hotel worth experiencing. There are many foods around. Italian street, very close to the port, the coast is beautiful. The historical precipitation of the room beauty + delicious tea bag coffee. On the top floor there is an open-air local favorite restaurant + bar that can see all sides of the city from a distance. Beautiful. There are also shopping facilities nearby. Recommended stay"

"The room looked clean and was comfortable, but don’t be fooled—I spotted a few cockroaches in the room and at the rooftop hangout area. The lift was not working throughout my stay, so I had to carry my luggage up and down the stairs without any assistance. A male staff member even walked past me during checkout without offering help—I had to ask, and he still delayed helping until I was almost at the bottom. Housekeeping was also inconsistent, and I had to remind reception to get the room cleaned on some days."

"The hotel is in a good location, surrounding attractions, convenient commercial shopping, free parking, small room is enough, there is no air conditioning in the room, the room has a small window: open to absorb fresh air is very good, the public toilet and shower room are very convenient, the front desk is on the first floor bar, You can also By the way, drink 🍻 or drink coffee ☕️ Sleep at night ＂ Remember to lock the door! I was knocked on the door that night by the guest in the opposite room who was drunk, and pulled the door handle, scaring the baby !"
