The location is excellent — all the main attractions are just a five-minute walk away. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh cheese, a tasty omelet, and surprisingly good coffee. What made the stay truly special, however, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and they genuinely made me feel that I was expected and appreciated as a guest. "It's been a long time since I stayed at a hotel with so many problems. First, after inserting the room card to activate the power, it would trip after a minute. This happened repeatedly. I went downstairs to get a new card, and the front desk staff found two green cards among a pile of red ones in a drawer, reprogrammed them, and that finally fixed it. When I returned in the evening, another elderly couple at the front desk was asking about the same issue, so it seems to be a common problem. Secondly, the mini-fridge in the room wasn't working, and I needed it. It was only resolved after a hotel staff member came to replace the fridge. The hairdryer in the bathroom was mounted on the wall but didn't work. The showerhead was spraying water from the connection point at the end, and the next day it completely fell off, making it unusable. The service, however, was good. All my requests were responded to promptly, especially the uncle who replaced the fridge – his attitude was great, and he even refused my tip. I apologize again and again for the inconvenience caused by the hotel's facilities."

"Such a delightful place that fully served the purpose of my solo trip to Bosnia. I chose to stay in Sarajevo while I go to visit sites outside of Sarajevo. And I am just showing this view from outside my window (my room has three windows, thank you Demir 😍) to show it is right at the tip of the old town. I often spent a number of times just looking out of the window and watch the world pass by. It was a meaningful feeling. An extra special thanks to Demir for making my stay enjoyable and memorable. Even when I began messaging him before coming (a few months before ☺️) he was very understanding. The self check-in feature was super simple too, and as I arrived much later in the evening after check-in hours, he was on whatsapp assisting me all the way until I reached my room. Hvala, Demir for your tireless efforts and warmness which was one of the highlights of my stay in Sarajevo."

"The hotel was fantastic; we loved it. The receptionist was very helpful with everything. At the end of our stay, we asked for a taxi, and they helped us with that too. We stayed on the 14th floor, which offers amazing views of the city (not exactly picturesque, but the mountains are amazing 😍). The breakfasts were delicious, with plenty of choice: there were always vegetables, eggs (the omelet was burnt once and tasted awful), pastries, and fresh fruit. The only thing we didn't like was that upon check-in, reception told us breakfast started at 6:00 AM. We had to leave early for an excursion, so we arrived for breakfast just as it opened (6:15 AM). Several dishes were already served, but the coffee machines were turned off (meaning there was no hot water for tea either). A woman came around setting the table, and I asked her if I could at least pour some tea. She completely ignored me, made a disgruntled face, and left. As a result, we were left without breakfast."

"We came early because of the train schedule. The receptionist is very helpful to checked us in early and gave bigger room to us.Location is just behind the sarajevo train station but you need to take cab because of the hill. It has wifi and elevator. They accepted card payment.Easy to carry big luggage. No public transport around but the receptionist always helped us to call taxi"

I travelled to Sarajevo with my two sisters. However, the apartment was extremely spacious and big enough for a large family. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of TV's, there were sufficient facilities that we could make our own breakfast in the mornings. The location was around a 15 minute walk from old town, this was close enough - we could walk there and the neighborhood was nice and quiet, there were also nice places to eat close by as well as a small grocery shop we could buy a few bits from. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and the comfortable apartment played a role in this.

Absolutely amazing stay. Every staff member we met was hospitable and helpful from the very start of the reservation process. The hotel location is perfect: not only inside Baščaršija with its cafes and restaurants, but next to a supermarket and a drugstore. The hotel has its own parking lots located in a one-minute walk. We had a room on the third floor (yes, there's an elevator) with a nice view on the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque. The room was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good, a couple of dishes changed every day. The hotel is highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The breakfast was very good. A special thank you to the staff at the front desk – they responded to all requests instantly. I checked out early in the morning, and they provided a packed lunch. The only minor point is the slightly steep uphill walk after a long day out.

The location is excellent. The breakfast lady is younger and makes a rich breakfast. She also cleans and is very attentive. The only downside is that I contacted the hotel front desk and was told they would send me to the train station, which is only 2 km away, for 30 marks. (I was worried I wouldn't be able to get a taxi if I got there early, but there were already taxis outside the hotel at 6:00.)

Stayed here for one night before an early morning flight and had a really lovely stay. I honestly didn’t realize until I arrived that Hotel Baškuća had been featured in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2025 and National Geographic Traveller’s European Cities Collection 2025; such a nice surprise and very well deserved. The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to Baščaršija (the old bazaar), which made it very convenient for exploring Sarajevo even with a short stay. The room was very cozy, clean, and comfortable, and the amenities were all thoughtfully prepared. Everything felt well-kept and welcoming. I had to leave very early for my flight, so unfortunately I didn’t get to try the breakfast, but I heard from others that it’s excellent. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d happily recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Sarajevo especially if you want somewhere comfortable, charming, and well located.

Incredible hotel with very kind and welcoming staff. Nice and large rooms with an incredible view of the forest, a very unique experience. Would like to extend a thanks to Sanin for making the best hot chocolate I've ever had, and Mladen for serving us in the three times (!!!) we used the downstairs restaurant which had probably the best pizza I've ever had. I never use the restaurant in the hotel but this was seriously exceptional and had plenty of options. I ended up ordering Pizza Trebevic twice on two separate days. The breakfast options were good too. Special thanks also to Mellisa at the front desk who let us check out late because our flight was late in the evening and greeted us with nothing but kindness, and booked us taxis as we needed. The only problem you might have with the hotel is that the location is high up in the mountains. Cab drivers probably won't be very pleased to take you up easily and you will feel guilty that they drove so far for you. The hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere but the hikes around the area make it worth it. On the map it looks like it is not far from the main town but it is really far compared to other options. Go to this hotel if you intend to hike often but just bear in mind that you are high up in the mountains, far away from the old town center
