"The location is very good.
A small tip: in case you might not notice, if you are going by walking, not driving, using Google Maps directly may take you the long way around. If you contact the host, they will show you the back entrance, which takes you straight to the Baščaršija center in just 3 minutes.
The place was clean, comfortable, and very warm. We were very satisfied throughout our stay. The hosts were also kind-hearted and lovely people. I’m very happy to have met them.

"The hotel was nice, the bedroom was nice and very clean.
But the amenities were quite basic for a 5 stars hotel, the swimming pool/spa area was very poorly managed with staff not paying much attention and parts closed and quite poor quality.

Breakfast although basic was within expectations for the price point. The 'Sarajevo 1984' Olympic colors on the chairs I thought were a nice nod to the past.
The room was modest but included everything I needed as a solo traveller and was cleaned every couple of days. Lack of AC was the only thing that made the trip slightly less comfortable.
There is a bar on a maisonette floor that serves drinks all day till around 11PM. The staff were courteous and helpful.
For those who don't have a car, taxi can be ordered from the front desk or you can walk 5 minutes to the Railway Station and nearest Tram/Bus stops.
The observation tower is nearby, the Ottoman city is around 30 minutes on foot.
I would stay again. 👍"

"No matter the room or the public bathroom, the hygiene is very clean. The location of the hotel is also very good, just in front of the Pigeon Square. There are many trams stopping in front of the door. Walk about 200 meters is the starting point of the 31E bus, you can take this bus to the East Sarajevo bus station, there is a long-distance bus to Belgrade. The guy at the front desk was a bit displeased and impatient about my poor English, but he still patiently slowed down every sentence and repeated it twice to make sure I understood? ."

"The service was absolutely terrible. The travel agency booked our stay the night before, and we wanted to stay an extra night, so we booked another through Ctrip. On the day we checked in, we asked to extend our stay for another day. They told us to come back to the front desk the next day and try again with our credit card, which would most likely be possible. But when we arrived at the front desk at 10 a.m. the next morning, we were told we couldn't extend our stay. We had to move rooms and have to accept a 12:00 PM check-in and a 3:00 PM check-out. The reason was that a group had booked two weeks prior, and they had given us their room number. What kind of excuse is that? I've never heard of that. I was hoping for a convenient extension, but we ended up having to change hotels. After a long argument, they said they'd leave our luggage in the room and move us to the new room once it was ready. I reluctantly accepted that. Also, my friend's room was infested with giant spiders—more than one—and the staff were using paper cups to catch them. I strongly don't recommend this hotel. You should definitely try a better one."

"The hotel has a good environment and a superior geographical location. The front desk reception service is warm and thoughtful, the room cleaning is timely and efficient, the staff are very dedicated and can handle problems in a timely manner, and put themselves in the shoes of the guests. It was a very satisfactory stay experience. I felt the warmth of home in this hotel, the beds are comfortable, the supplies are thoughtful, and the service is meticulous. "The hostel's location is excellent, right next to the main cathedral, with all the best sights within walking distance. There's also a tram stop nearby. Everything is very convenient, but the only drawback is the unqualified staff. I also encountered a common problem in Bosnia: if you book a hotel and pay by card (Russian), you might be asked to pay in cash upon check-in. I had to spend a long time proving that I had paid for my accommodation. Be prepared for this, or book without payment and pay on arrival."

"Nice hotel. Well located in Sarajevo Old Town. Within walking distance of most of the main attractions. Room was a bit noisy, due to close proximity to the main road and I was unsure if people could look in my window from the road as I was only on the first floor. Room was also a little dark due to the common trend in hotels now to not have a central light in the middle of the room. Breakfast was quite good in the morning with a large selection. Staff were helpful and easy to arrange a taxi to and from the airport."

GGuest UserThe apartment booked here is very cost-effective. There is a large bed and a bunk bed. There were only two of us traveling, but it could accommodate 4 people. And the area is much larger than the hotel. The location is near Courtyard by Marriott, and after comparison, we decided to choose a larger apartment. After we arrived to check in, we called the butler and he added us on WeChat to guide us in. The housekeeper responded promptly and enthusiastically. The location is also great, just two blocks away you can cross the bridge to the central area.

The hotel location is perfect: not only inside Baščaršija with its cafes and restaurants, but next to a supermarket and a drugstore. The hotel has its own parking lots located in a one-minute walk. We had a room on the third floor (yes, there's an elevator) with a nice view on the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque. The room was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good, a couple of dishes changed every day. The hotel is highly recommended.

SShae IslamThe hotel is in the perfect location, scenic and near restaurants, shops etc. It is walking distance to old town and a lot of the sights, like the cable car, the wooden fountain, historical mosques, city hall, eternal flame, museums, markets, etc. The hotel is super clean and the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The room itself was huge, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was fantastic, you’re given toiletries and tea, coffee etc. Breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty, buffet style with a variety of juices and coffees/teas, ate so much! Used the sauna which is free and you book sessions with the reception staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again when I visit Sarajevo Bosnia again, loved it! Thank you :-)

AAnonymous UserMy friend and I stayed for two nights in Sarajevo, and this Residence Inn offered excellent value for money.
The cleanliness deserves full marks; both the room and common areas were spotless, which made our stay very comfortable. The one-bedroom suite was spacious, and with two single beds plus a sofa bed, it was enough for the four of us. Although the facilities weren't brand new, they were practical and complete.
The hotel's location was the most convenient aspect. We could walk to the Old Town and other main attractions, saving us the hassle of taking taxis. There were also two good local restaurants nearby, making it very easy to find food in the evening.
What surprised me was seeing quite a few Asian guests here, which suggests it's a popular choice with a good reputation. The overall environment and service were satisfying, making it suitable for both group travels with friends and solo trips. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Sarajevo!

AAToiStayed here for one night before an early morning flight and had a really lovely stay. I honestly didn’t realize until I arrived that Hotel Baškuća had been featured in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2025 and National Geographic Traveller’s European Cities Collection 2025; such a nice surprise and very well deserved.
The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to Baščaršija (the old bazaar), which made it very convenient for exploring Sarajevo even with a short stay. The room was very cozy, clean, and comfortable, and the amenities were all thoughtfully prepared. Everything felt well-kept and welcoming.
I had to leave very early for my flight, so unfortunately I didn’t get to try the breakfast, but I heard from others that it’s excellent.
Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d happily recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Sarajevo especially if you want somewhere comfortable, charming, and well located.

Because Sarajevo is very small and the road is narrow, it is not recommended to drive, walking is the most convenient way to visit. The room is small, small, but very clean and tidy, the bedding is very comfortable, the wall of the entire hotel is a Sarajevo spray plotter, very distinctive, may also be the reason for her name color inn. GGuest UserThe room is large, the rooftop balcony has a nice view, the hotel facilities are complete, clean and sanitary. The breakfast is quite rich. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, you have to take a taxi to get there, and it is very hard to walk with luggage. There is a large shopping mall nearby, which takes 10 minutes to walk.

GGuest UserIncredible hotel with very kind and welcoming staff. Nice and large rooms with an incredible view of the forest, a very unique experience. Would like to extend a thanks to Sanin for making the best hot chocolate I've ever had, and Mladen for serving us in the three times (!!!) we used the downstairs restaurant which had probably the best pizza I've ever had. I never use the restaurant in the hotel but this was seriously exceptional and had plenty of options. I ended up ordering Pizza Trebevic twice on two separate days. The breakfast options were good too.
Special thanks also to Mellisa at the front desk who let us check out late because our flight was late in the evening and greeted us with nothing but kindness, and booked us taxis as we needed.
The only problem you might have with the hotel is that the location is high up in the mountains. Cab drivers probably won't be very pleased to take you up easily and you will feel guilty that they drove so far for you. The hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere but the hikes around the area make it worth it. On the map it looks like it is not far from the main town but it is really far compared to other options. Go to this hotel if you intend to hike often but just bear in mind that you are high up in the mountains, far away from the old town center

GGuest UserThe location is perfect and the room is nice but needs some tlc and general maintenance. Fan, hairdryer, aircon, toilet seat, door handle, window were broken. The bed was comfy but 2 very clear singles pushed together so would fall down the gap. The restaurant below plays music until 11pm which you can hear and could smell cigarette smoke in our room (even with the windows closed). The staff were very nice and friendly.
