"Facilities: This is a century-old hotel, and the facilities are well-maintained. The only minor issues were the occasional pipe noise from the water system at night and the curtains not being thick enough, letting in some light in the mornings. Cleanliness: The room was clean. The toilet and shower were separated (wet/dry design). The only drawback was that the water temperature wasn't very stable, but since it was hot out, it wasn't a big deal. Ambiance: The hotel exterior is beautiful. From the room window, we had a distant mountain view and could even catch the sunrise. I've shared photos of the hotel exterior and the view from our room window. Service: The elderly gentleman who checked us in was exceptionally warm and friendly. We also saw him busy during breakfast, helping to promptly replenish various food items. On our last day, he also quickly helped us retrieve our luggage. We were on a tight schedule, but while getting our bags, we had a cold drink and even managed to catch the earliest direct train! Every day, the gentleman greeted everyone warmly, which made our stay very pleasant. It's a shame I never remembered his name; I wonder if he was the owner."

"The check-in process was very simple, and the host sent all the details through Trip.com. The host replied promptly and provided free laundry facilities for guests. They also offered travel passes and gave great recommendations for local attractions and food. The view from the hotel was beautiful, and the room was spacious and comfortable."

"The people working in the hotel are great, they are very friendly and helpful! The room in general is very clean, but the hotel has many flies flying around, especially during breakfast, there are many flies just lying on the bread and also flying around our food. Location from the hotel to city center is around 20~30 minutes walk, and there is a bus passing by the hotel every 20~30 minutes as well, for us it is alright, but we need to check the schedule to make sure we don't miss the bus, otherwise we will need to wait another 30 minutes for next bus or just walk to the city center."

"This is a hotel for summer vacations and it is not recommended if the weather is cold. The location of the hotel is a resort, the scenery is really beautiful, behind the Lake Thun, in the summer, you can row and swim, it is very pleasant to see. But the downside is that the hotel facilities are very general, there is no air conditioning in the room, the bathroom is very small, if the weather is cold, it will be very difficult to come over, I am still caught a cold. There is also a general location of the hotel. It is a little far from the East Railway Station and the West Railway Station. It is suitable for self-driving. There are buses at the door, you can also take a boat. The front desk will give you a free transportation ticket, but the bus in the rural area of Interlaken is very busy. Early, after 7:30, there is no more, only to fight."

"Hotel is a 10-15mins walk from Interlaken West station. Surrounding has quite a number of cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. It is also in a scenic part of Interlaken where you can see the mountains and the blue waters in the stream which makes for great photos. You can also spot para gliders too. If you walk along the lake you can reach Interlaken Ost station in about 20mins or so. Quite a nice walk along the river! The hotel itself is 3-storey. Everything is pretty much self service and there is no reception/staff around - you key in a code to enter the main entrance, and there is a desktop/tablet for you to check in yourself. There is a small luggage room for you to leave your luggage inside. There is also a small common pantry with some basic electrical appliances like kettle and fridge for guests. There is no lift and you have to carry your luggage up the spiral staircase. The room itself is small, clean and simple - just a bed, some hangers and a toilet. There is no TV. Hotel left a toblerone chocolate on the bed as a gift for us which is cute. Also found out that the owner owns a cafe around the corner (called “Spatz”) and we were given a coffee voucher which was nice. We needed some help with check in and we went to the cafe to look for the owner for help, and he kindly helped us."

"The Aarburg Hotel & Café is a charming little spot in Interlaken, just a 15-minute walk from Interlaken West train station. While it’s tempting to take the shortcut, I’d recommend sticking to the main road, especially in snowy weather—it’s much easier for pulling luggage. Check-in was smooth and efficient, but do note there are no lifts in this cozy hotel. Carrying heavy bags up the narrow stairs was a bit of a workout, so pack light if you can. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the coffee—it lived up to all the glowing Google reviews. Breakfast was simple but wholesome, with fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, and healthy toppings like dried berries, almonds, and chia seeds. The café is pet-friendly, so don’t be surprised to see a few furry friends around. The room itself was modest but comfortable. However, as the building is wooden, sounds tend to carry. We wondered if we were bothering other occupants but thankfully, no complaints! The location is peaceful, away from the main road, though the church bells that sound at intervals through the night was a little disturbing on the first night. With a supermarket near the train station for quick snacks and essentials, this hotel is both convenient and quiet. Perfect for couples looking for a laid-back stay. I’d happily book here again if I return to Interlaken."
