This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling alone.

"This hotel in Bath offers excellent value for money. It's just a few minutes' walk from Bath's main street, making it a very central location. Being so close to the main street means easy access to all sorts of restaurants, supermarkets, and Bath's main attractions (the Abbey, Roman Baths, River Avon) – all within walking distance. The main draw is definitely the affordable price, which really makes it great value. The room was a bit small, but it had all the necessary amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend!"

"The room got upgraded to a bigger room. There was both a bath and a shower. There was a fridge too. There was hardly any noise from the road outside. The bedroom doors opening and closing were very noisy. The gym was standard for a hotel. The pool was open until 10, with a need to reserve a slot - no issues found with this. The steam room was undergoing renovation, but the sauna was available. The TV worked fine, but it's not one where you can cast to it. The air con worked fine."

"Traditional local homestays, friends who want to experience British style can try. The front desk brother is very warm, there are maps and promotional pages at the entrance, the room is fully equipped, and coffee and biscuits are also provided. The downside is that the bed is too small ╮ (╯▽╰) ╭ My 1.68 normal height, my feet basically stick out, it is difficult to turn over and fall out of the bed 😂 Other cost-effective is very high!"

"Wonderful setting and decor. Clean, comfortable bed. Would be good to add a smaller shower with the rain shower as it was difficult to have a shower without a shower cap  Helpful and attentive staff.  Good breakfast except they had obviously ran out of fresh mushrooms and replaced them with tinned, would have been better if they had asked if they can replace with something else and they were left untouched"

"Arrived at the hotel on a very hot day, June 25, 2026 (35°C). The hotel had no air conditioning, and the room on the third floor was unbearable, like an oven. I was sweating just sitting still and couldn't stay in the room. Even with two fans, it didn't help. Eventually, we moved to the second floor, which was a completely different experience. The room was larger and much cooler – a welcome relief. The hotel did address our issue, and the location and service were good. However, without air conditioning, the third floor is simply unlivable in hot weather; I wouldn't recommend staying there during the summer. Other facilities were okay, though there were some flying insects in the room, which was unavoidable. It would be much better to stay here in winter. The hotel is a 15-minute walk to the city center, and parking costs £15."

"The location was amazing and easy by walking in town, meet the hotel standards on cleanliness, service and location. staff is very friendly with smile especially on the breakfast time, they are really helpful. However I have booked for 2 nights with the city view queen bed room, but It’s no city view at all. Also, this room is on the upper ground floor and nearby the storage cleaning room is not the good idea for customer especially on the early morning time. The problem is the room always has a terrible noise all the time which make me terrible and can’t sleep well when I am being on the room. I have requested the room which away from elevators and good view before booking but not get anything at all."

AAmeitongxueThis hotel boasts an excellent location right by Putney Bridge, making it super convenient to get around. There's a Waitrose supermarket next door and plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is quite new, with a clean and minimalist decor – not luxurious, but very comfortable. I'd give full marks to the service in the ground floor restaurant; the staff were incredibly enthusiastic and accommodating, and the food was plentiful and delicious. My only slight complaint is that the shower stall was a bit narrow. Even for someone who isn't particularly big, turning around felt quite awkward; I'd estimate it's only about 60-70 cm wide. Everything else was perfect, though! I had a wonderful three days here.

GGuest UserPerfect spot for exploring Bath, very central and easy to walk to the station, shops and attractions. The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything we needed, and felt secure in the lovely courtyard. We extended our stay as we felt so at home there. There looked to be a secure left luggage store which we may have used if we’d seen it earlier. Would be useful to have info about this in the apartment info pack. There is some noise from the street for apartment 7, partly from early deliveries to Thermae Spa which is directly opposite, and also from people wandering through the echoey passageways at night. We got used to it by the end of our stay, but light sleepers might prefer one of the inward facing apartments.

GGuest UserCentral location helps to overcome the cramped feeling staying in the annexe. The car was parked at the other end of town and drop off was difficult to say the least but it is what it is. I had no reason whatsoever to check out the main building reception, breakfast area perhaps a bar and lounge area too because nothing pointed me there! So generally, it was a room in a loft space built to an ”average” measure. I never like shower cubicles where I tend to bang elbows and worry about breaking something when I drop the soap. Breakfast price was horrendous so no inclination to walk in on the hop to check it out for the 2 nights stayed. I felt detached, cramped and in a bed-sit like accommodation. It is what it is.

GGuest UserSold as a 5 star hotel and although it did look good from the outside, the inside was very dated and lacking tlc.the bathroom had what looked like black mould around the wall furniture and the sink had been covered in a wrap which was torn and some of the metal fixtures where corroded.the breakfast took over an hour as they seemed to take precedents over vips in the dining room who got food very quickly.from sitting down to receiving our breakfast took an hour both days.the staff where very apologetic but that does t make up for poor service and the quality was average. The Spa was also dated and the Gym was small with very little in it for a proper workout.

GGuest UserThe location is not very convenient and not sure why but the buses that stop in front of the hostel do not show on either google map or apple map so I only found out there there were direct buses after arriving the hostel. However, instead of taking buses, I highly recommend walking to the city centre as you will walk through an amazing field of grassland. The room is very spacious, cozy, and quiet. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserAttended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. GGuest UserIf you ever wanted to pretend you lived in a Georgian house, as if you were in a Jane Austen novel or in Bridgerton then you will not be disappointed staying here. The rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The hotel was only a few minutes away from the centre of Bath, Holburn Museum and was an easy walk from the bus/train station. I will stay here again.

MmabelchangA typical mountain resort hotel. Located high up in the mountains, the roads are narrow, making passing cars difficult. This location is only suitable for those who drive. Those who don't drive are better off staying in a city hotel. The building is a bit dated, but fortunately, there's an elevator. There's ample parking at the entrance.

GGuest UserStayed at Wentworth House for one night. The location was handy — only about a 6 or 7-minute taxi ride into the centre of Bath. Parking on site was free, which is always a bonus, though spaces were limited. The shower worked fine with good hot water, and at £120 a night for three people, the price wasn’t unreasonable for Bath. On the downside, the place is very dated and could do with some serious modernisation. Our room had a noticeable damp smell and the single-glazed windows didn’t help keep the room warm or quiet. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there, but overall, it’s an okay option if you just need somewhere for a night and aren’t too fussy — though a refresh would really lift the place.
