The Wheelwrights Arms is a charming pub and guesthouse, nestled in the picturesque village of Monkton Combe, just minutes away from the World Heritage City of Bath. Guests love staying in a proper country pub (serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week!). Amidst scenic hills and valleys, you simply won't find a more beautiful setting in such close proximity to Bath city centre. The 'from scratch kitchen' ethos means the pub chefs make everything 'in house' from their sourdough bread baked every morning, to their brown sauce served at breakfast, all homemade, with love. The menu includes stone-baked pizza, pub classics and daily specials. Be sure to book if you plan to eat at the pub because it does get (reassuringly) busy, especially on weekends. Breakfast is served every morning in the pub (price not included in the room rate). The breakfast menu includes interesting options such as their famous 'hangover hash browns' and the 'acai bowl with homemade granola and seasonal berries'; fresh, locally roasted coffee, loose leaf tea and cold pressed juices. The service is warm, friendly and professional. The village of Monkton Combe is a walker/runners/cyclists dream with hundreds of world class countryside routes at your doorstep. Please call ahead if you plan to bring a dog as only some of our guesthouse rooms are dog friendly and a small extra cleaning charge may be applied.
