"It seems the facilities, cleanliness, and location are a hit, but I think the service needs a bit more improvement, especially the front desk staff. I can't say it's everyone, as there are different shifts, but I felt a bit put off by one of the guys. I think it's because I'm Panamanian and not a foreigner; he treated me differently. I asked him a question because I didn't quite understand the room number and asked if it was by the pool. He curtly replied, 'No, your room is standard, not by the left,' and then told me to use the card to open the door. That didn't seem like an appropriate answer for a confused guest. It's obvious the card is for opening the door. I've stayed here twice, and it's the same person who gives off a rather unpleasant vibe."

"I didn't like this room. I preferred the room I had in a previous trip.
The buffet was ok, but we had a problem with one payment by credit card. The buffet and drink showed as paid on my friend's application, but the hotel said the payment was declined. They will get in touch with my friend since the issue is not closed."

"The room is very large, and it's spacious enough to store your luggage.

The front desk manager CESAR R. was very nice and upgraded me to a suite, which made my six-night stay very comfortable. I will choose this hotel first next time I come back."

"Big disappointment. Booked it for the last 2 days of our holiday with intention to relax. They provided us with a room but we had to changed it after one night because they started to do some maintenance work on that floor. The second room had moist problems, a bad smell and a wet floor in the bathroom. People working there are very indifferent to their guests with some exception. Pool is nice but staff is very busy chatting with each other instead of looking after their guests. Way to overpriced. Much better options around with better pricing and service!"

"Because the air conditioning in other hotels was too noisy at night and I couldn't rest, I checked in at the Marriott in the middle of the night and the staff were very welcoming.

"This is a great hotel, especially for the price. The staff are all very friendly and attentive, the rooms are large and spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet is one of the best I have had in Panama. Located in a very walkable area of the city, within 10 minutes walking from anything you need. At one point the button to the 12th floor in the elevator stopped working, I had to go to the 13th and walk down. Not a big problem but a little annoying."

"This is a very overvalued hotel, in reality the amenities are quite a low standard, rooms need minor renovations, and the housekeeping and maintenance services need proper improvement!
Maintenance issues: the sink had overspread issue, drainage issue, toilet had overfilling issue with a noise, shower vents didn’t close fully, unless you master the “secret”; floor in the bathroom was steep towards the bedroom area, instead of being steep towards the drainage hole, the entrance door wouldn’t close without noise because of touching the floor..
Housekeeping: they attended the room only after i asked and reminded. Even then they once didn’t clean the floor, twice didn’t provide refills of the amenities (water, tissues, etc.). Only after my kind complaint to the reception, they finally fixed the issues.
The reception and restaurant staff are very nice, kind, and attentive! Thanks and well done!"

All in one good hotel, people are friendly, the location is good, breakfast is OK.
The shower was not cleaned during our stay, you see that on the hair on the wall.
The temperature in the restaurant is too low, as in the US (sensitive 16 degrees). I don't understand why you can't adjust the wellness temperature (20-23 degrees). But this is rather a general problem, as they have looked at the Americans.

I would give this hotel an average rating. The interior decor of the lobby was strange and they kept the lobby and the floor hallways so cold that even the desk staff and other employees had to wear jackets. It was very uncomfortable coming in off the streets to such a cold environment. When asked of the numerous reception desk receptionists throughout the day why they kept it so cold that they had to wear jackets, they said they didn't know. I ended up getting a chest cold from the cold environment. My bed was comfortable, so I will give the hotel a 5 on that. But the room was noisy from both the outside and from the hallways. I had to twice tell the housekeeping to turn down their walkie talkie radios. Breakfast was about the same everyday. Nothing to write home about. I will say the fruit was delicious but everything else was ok. Not much selection. I had to have maintenance come and repair the hand towel holder that was just glued on the tile and fell off my first day. Took two days and numerous requests at the front desk for them to come and repair it. The maintenance man did properly install it this time using a drill and screw instead of glue. I will not stay at this hotel again as there are so many to choose from in this area.

Room was nice and comfortable though carpet had not been vacuumed in a long time.
Had a massage at the spa. Extremely disorganized and inexperienced massuese. With 30 minutes notice of my arrival there were no towels or robes ready. She kept bringing things one at a time even while i waz naked getting into the shower- bath mat, then robe, then robe belt, then towel, then slippers. I told her i just want back massage and done strong but i had to keep telling her where to rub and to be stronger.
Other than that the facility was nice
I used on line booking to book one day, then two more days then three more days. I always book for two but om the last three days something went wrong and somehow got booked only 1 person. Desk attendant told me $55 a day to change to two person. I think the app which i didn’t use the first two times defaulted to kne person and i didn’t have a chance to select two person
It waa extremely difficult to get a drink at the bar.
I did manage to get a drink at the bar then moved to a table. When i got the bill for items at the tae, the drink i had already paid for was on the bill. The waitress corrected it, thankfui had the bar receipt in my pocket

The hotel location is very good , very close to the main places in the city , so is easy to move around . The hotel room is ok , is big and spacious and the furniture is new . The hotel decoration is alright just like a normal holiday inn hotel , looks more for a business trip . It has a nice swimming pool on the top of the building too . The only problem I saw is that because of eco friendly tiles there are no water bottles at the room , there is free water tanks and the lobby so to drink you need to drink at the lobby , or take water from outside the hotel , but there are no shops close to the hotel , so you need to pay a higher price for the hotel vending machine or just drink water at lobby , I was thirsty the whole stay haha .
But I recommend it for business people

We just stayed for one night, but it was a good experience. The hotel is clean, the bed is very comfortable, and both the room and bathroom are spacious. There was little light in the room and the airconditioning only stayed at 23 which was a little warm for us.

Guest UserStayed 2 nights, hotel and room normal. In front of the hotel there is Av. Balboa, busy day and night, so you can hear a bit of noise.
During our stay there was construction work behind the hotel, so the pool (which is small for those who want to swim 7/7 m) is not nice to use because of the loud noise. The breakfast does not offer much choice and with products not at the level of a hotel of this rating. For the price I paid the quality/price ratio was OK, but I saw that it can also cost up to CHF 50.00 more per night. We will return to Panama City at the end of our tour of the country, but not to the Méridien.
Kind and competent staff, good WI-FI.

A wonderful experience in the Heart of Casco Viejo!
Art Casco is hands-down one of the most stylish and comfortable boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Casco Viejo, with historic charm all around and just steps from the waterfront, restaurants, and beautiful architecture.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were absolutely amazing—so warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. There was a bit of confusion about my second day of booking, even though I had paid online. But they handled it with patience and professionalism. Please make sure this hotel gets their money—they truly deserve it.
The rooms are artistically designed, clean, and full of character. Every detail—from the artwork to the furniture—felt curated with care. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom had great water pressure (a big deal in Panama!).
The entire property felt like a peaceful, artistic escape from the buzz of the city. If you’re looking for a boutique stay that blends art, comfort, and outstanding service, Art Casco is the perfect choice. I’ll definitely be returning!
