The Cottage is a almost new cabin in the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio, close to Chesterhill, OH. We love the quiet countryside where we can get away from the busyness of living. There are trails to walk and a ridge with a great view.Sitting on a scenic hill, the Cottage in Morgan County has a view that few others can surpass. One mile North of Chesterhill, OH, close to Athens and McConnelsville. Luxury accommodations in a peaceful setting, with 32 acres to enjoy (Antler Ridge Cabin is on the same property). Hiking, bird watching, relaxation and fresh country air are just a few of the benefits. Loft bedroom, with a queen bed and 4 twin beds give room for 6. Gas Franklin stove/fireplace, AC, fully equipped kitchen, full bath with shower, Smart TV/DVD player, washer & dryer. Large porch with gas grill, table, chairs and bench. Outdoor fire pit, firewood provided. Get away from the busyness and listen to the quiet, absorb the peace. The Cottage is close to the road, so there is some traffic noise.Bed linens and towels, coffee, tea are furnished. No smoking in cabin. Free WiFi. It is not always connecting well. Usually good, but we don't make promises. Verizon cell service is pretty good, more so on the porch. We suggest getting groceries before you arrive. A few groceries, pizza, subs, gas, etc. available in Chesterhill. McConnelsville has a variety of restaurants and unique shopping and historic places. Athens is a college town, 30 minutes away.Our cozy cottage is close to The Wilds (45min), Wolf Creek Wildlife Area, Muskingum River, AEP Recreation Lands, covered bridges, Amish community, and many species of wildlife, especially deer and turkey. You will love The Cottage at Antler Ridge for a romantic weekend or a week of vacation with your family. The Hideaway is a cozy 2 story home tucked into a the hills of south eastern Ohio. A full kitchen and living area combine to make a comfortable place for your group to gather. Porches running the full length of both upper and lower level give you lots of room to enjoy outdoor living. There are 5 bedrooms and 2 baths to accommodate 12 persons.WiFi and TV, with a DVD player. Washer and dryer. Gas grill on the porch, as well as a porch swing, and 12 comfortable deck chairs and a table. Fire ring, firewood provided.The driveway is gravel and a bit steep. Fine for cars unless there is snow or ice. We strongly suggest 4 wheel drive in winter months. Not suitable for cycles. Not handicap accessible, must go stairs to get to the main level where the kitchen and main living room are located.Pet friendly. $50 per stay. The area is quiet and has very low traffic. You can walk the road to the small creek or to the Amish neighbors. A Gathering Barn with full second kitchen for open air dining and plenty of games in the lean too section to the left. This space provides hours of entertainment.We give diligent attention to thoroughly clean and disinfect all surfaces for your safety and peace of mind.The spacious cabin has a relaxing and homey feel and accommodates up to 8 people. The Master bedroom has a king bed, and easy access to the hot tub on the back porch thru glass doors. The loft has a private bedroom with a queen bed and a twin air mattress. The loft also has a full bath and a sitting room with a futon which can be made into a twin bed. Bedroom 3 on the main floor has a queen bed. A large main floor bath serves bedroom 1 & 3 and has a large walk-in shower. All linens are provided, pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels. Comfortable seating in the Living room provides a relaxing place for good conversations, playing games or watching a movie on the smart screen. A fully stocked kitchen provides dinnerware, cookware and serving dishes for cooking your own meals if you choose to. Appliances include a fridge and stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, we have a flexbrew, [carafe and k-cups], toaster, blender, and electric tea pot. The large dining room table easily accomodates your whole group. A washer and dryer are available in the laundry room.This is not your average cabin that only provides you with a place to sleep. The property is secluded enough to be quiet and peaceful, yet open and spacious, providing you with many different options to occupy your time.Two kayaks, and a paddle boat are available for your enjoyment on the pond. The back porch where the hot tub provides luxurious relaxation, also has a shaded sitting area, where you can enjoy the view of the pond.. The charcoal grill is conveniently located on the patio, with a shaded picnic table and plenty of seating on the deck for additional outdoor dining space.Along with the patio area and deck, the extensive grounds include a lowered fire ring area surrounded by sandstones where you can gather around the fire and roast hotdogs and marshmallows, or cook dinner over the fire.
