"The room was decent, but for some reason, there was a wet towel in the mini-fridge. Didn't housekeeping notice that? The Wi-Fi signal in the room was also very poor. When I checked in, the room key was just tucked into a scrap piece of paper, not a proper key card sleeve, so I had no idea how to connect to the Wi-Fi.
The internal parking lot is quite spacious, but after 7 PM, it's virtually impossible to find a spot, and you have to park on the street. Luckily, they don't ticket there. What's more, an Indian woman actually knocked on my door one night asking if I had bought furniture and needed help moving it! And they didn't even provide complimentary drinking water in the room.
The hotel itself is an old building with a lot of history, and the air conditioner remote control must be at least 30 years old.
The pros are that there's a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, and it's located near Box Hill, which is predominantly Chinese, almost like a Chinatown. Many restaurants are still open from 10-11 PM, truly showcasing the hard work of the Chinese community. Plus, the prices are reasonable, and the food tastes great. The roast pork at Xiaofang Yayuan, in particular, is as good as what you'd find in Hong Kong, even better than in Shanghai."
