"We travelled as a group to attend seminars in the Lille Catholic University. However only one room available, we decided to give the room to our old German nun. When she checked out she left her Taïwanaise passport, granted by Taiwan Government for her contributions. Thanks to the hotel services, cooperation with the LC University, we finally get the passport back through express delivery. Amazing!"
"There are quite a few hotels like this in this area. The restaurant is on the lower floor, and you check in and out there. When there was no one at the counter, an older woman eating there told me what to do. The building is old, so it has been repaired very nicely. I don't know what they really think, but they were very cheerful."
"Really well located hotel, with lovely art deco features and well chosen furniture. Good, powerful shower and in general very comfortable. The coffee machine in the room was temperamental, although was better behaved after mentioning to the welcome desk. The breakfast was good, although there were few choices for those with food restrictions. There was no decaffeinated coffee available at breakfast so we were advised to get coffee from our bedroom which was a little frustrating. A long walk for a coffee cup with breakfast!"
"It’s superbly located and is very clean and modern. Excellent shower and bedding. Lovely warm friendly staff. The breakfast is excellent with eggs, smoked salmon croissant granola and plenty of yoghurts and cheeses. Very pleased with our stay. The only issue is it may be slightly loud on the weekend as you are in a busy district but we kept the windows shut and AC on so it really was no trouble"
GGuest UserExcellent location literally opposite the train station and Westfield. Simple but sufficient breakfast. Very spacious room with nice toiletries. Great cleaning service. Will definitely be back real soon. Shame there's no kids facilities though.
GGuest UserThe room is well soundproofed and relatively quiet. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The hygiene is very good and the room facilities are very new.
GGuest UserIt is a very nice hotel, but my stay was ruined. The hotel had decided to have a DJ blast music from one of the hotel rooms to celebrate festivities in Lille that weekend. The DJ was blasting music through an open window to the street below at exceptionally high volume levels. My room was above the DJ. The music shook the room, it was impossible for us to stay in the room. It was a lovely room but it wasn't fit for purpose, and should not have been hired out to guests when the hotel had arranged for a DJ to be creating that level of noise below them. I arrived at the hotel after a 15 hour journey, desperate for rest before going out to meet friends in the evening. Rest was simply impossible in the room. As a result my evening out was also ruined. At the very least a hotel needs to provide a quite relaxing room for guests, this wasn't done. I would advise you to consider other options available before considering this hotel.
GGuest UserVery nice old building hotel in Lille. It is located quite in the City center, however a lot of public parking outside and the hotel has also it's private parking the restaurant was very nice and decoration very old style and elegant with nice modern dishes. Hotel room was a bit small but very clean. The staff are super friendly. Whether for business or visiting Lille I would totally recommend this hotel. I'd come again.
KKarlGGood for a short stay. Has a decent gym which is very important for fitness-focused travelers. Room can be cleaner. And toilet is separate from the bathroom which is a bit strange.
EEvansLizOnly stayed one night, but all very good. If there was a very good option, I would have chosen that, so more than good, but not excellent! Definitely use the Carlton again if I'm staying in Lille.
MMochichimmyTruly enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and the stay is comfortable and pleasant. The room is spacious and very clean. Baggage storage is available as the hotel as well. Hotel is well situated near city center which is really convenient.
