GGuest UserThe hotel is aesthetically pleasing, has old world charm yet modern. Breakfast is good though sometimes a long queue is formed outside the restaurant. But my check in was very disappointing. First the time it took for that staff to process it led me to think either their computer is not working or there's a problem with my booking (but I have received reminder from Trip.com. Worst, that staff asked me to pay a sum which is about £100 more than the stated sum on my hotel voucher ( he even said specifically ”For the first night the amount is xxx, and for the second night, the amount is xxx, with a security deposit of £50, the total is £4xx.”I told him he made a mistake as the sum stated in my printed voucher is only £3xx. That staff is either incompetent or not trustworthy, and should not be working on front desk. ALWAYS CHECK THE PRICE ON YOUR VOUCHER.

GGuest User2nd time staying here. Checked in but my room wasn't that really ready yet!! So, got free upgrade n breakfast for that. Much appreciated. Great location with best hospitality. Friendly n helpful staff. Spacious n super clean room. Has AC n heating system as well during this winter season. Fresh n clean towel with body shampoo, hair shampoo n conditioner provided. Toiletries available upon request. Definitely my to-go hotel in Cardiff...

GGuest UserLocation was excellent. Right in the city centre. Don't be confused though, there are two Travelodges and we went to the wrong one first which was conveniently close to the train station. A short taxi ride took us to the correct one. Reception is unusually on the 3rd floor, but friendly staff. Your pass key will only unlock your floor which also has safety doors. Be careful not to put it near your phone as it desensitised it and it won't unlock anything - like mine, but a visit to the Reception fixed that. Felt very safe there as the automatic doors from street level lock at night, so no one could wander in off the street. A bar and cafe located on same 3rd floor as Reception was convenient for a drink and snack. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cardiff has a large pedestrian area, so it was easy to walk to major shops, restaurants and pubs (recommend the Owain Glyndwr) and attractions such as Bute Park and Cardiff Castle were easy to walk to. The Christmas markets and Winter Wonderland were also close by and beautiful to view at night. Foreign money exchange was a short walk from hotel at the Queen Street shopping arcade entrance.

MM.Y.J.Great location and extremely friendly staff! The room was clean and spacious. It’s close to all the major shops, restaurants, and bars. 10-15 minutes walk from the Cardiff Castle. It is close to the Cardiff University area and about twenty minutes walk to Mermaid Quay. Would stay again.
