"I went there on a friend's recommendation; his child is 12 (can go beachcombing), and my child is 4 (cannot go beachcombing). The beach is all rocky, and getting there from the hotel involves climbing wooden stairs, a one-way trip of over 3,000 steps. Be careful with flip-flops! He went in March, and I went recently. Do note the age and time considerations.
**Pros:**
1. The room is genuinely huge, with a great balcony, workspace, and lounge area. The bathtub and other amenities are all excellent.
2. The hotel building is grand and impressive, very majestic.
3. The swimming pool is also quite good.
**Cons:**
1. If the temperature is below 26 degrees Celsius and there's no sun, don't bother going. The pools are all outdoors, so you won't be able to swim at all. When it's windy by the sea, you practically can't go there either. There are only 2 inflatable boats for the 'drifting river' feature, and you'll wait 30 minutes to get on. If it's not warm enough, you can't even play, and the wind will make you question your life choices.
2. All the outdoor play equipment is rusty, and it's not open when the temperature is low. Other outdoor public areas are littered with trash and unkempt. It's also not very friendly to children under 6.
3. The soft play area is very small and extremely stuffy. Unless you specifically ask for the air conditioning to be turned on for ventilation, no one pays attention. Many adults enter without socks, and whether it's cleaned properly is questionable.
4. The complimentary meal is just that—complimentary. We got half a very fishy chicken and two servings of unwashed, dirty vegetables. You absolutely have to order food à la carte to feel full, and there are no other dining options nearby. The restaurant opens promptly at 5:30 PM, not a minute earlier, not even turning on the lights despite many guests waiting in the dark. The average serving time is over 40 minutes. Breakfast is decent, but the duty manager starts rushing you to leave right at 10:00 AM. This happened two days in a row, with the same female manager at the same time, which is completely different from other hotels. It seems like closing time is strictly enforced here. What does this mean? Parents with kids, bring your own snacks to avoid going hungry!
**Additionally:**
This is a really good hotel, even if it's a bit old. With good management, it could still be excellent. However, it's clear that it's currently suffering from neglect. Good places are usually spread by word of mouth, but if this continues, such a wonderful spot might be ruined."
