Scenic Hotels in Hiroshima City

"The room size was decent, not small by Japanese standards. The decor felt quite new. They even had Braille identification at the elevator, which was a nice touch. The hotel is right in the city center, making transportation very convenient. It's really close to the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Museum, just a few minutes' walk. The area felt safe and quiet. My only minor gripe was that there was a front desk staff member on the first day, but I didn't see them on the subsequent two days. It seems like many hotels in Japan are moving towards self check-in now, which I'm still getting used to as I don't visit often."

"My stay at this hotel was quite good overall. The location is decent – it's about a 10-minute walk with luggage from Hiroshima Station if you cross the bridge from the Fukuya side and turn left. There's a FamilyMart convenience store about 20 meters in front of the hotel, and Shukkei-en Garden is super close, roughly a 7-8 minute walk away. Most of the city's shopping areas (Kamiya-cho, Hon-dori shopping street, Hiroshima Castle, Peace Memorial Park, etc.) and major department stores are all within a 20-30 minute walk, so nothing is too far. The hotel lobby on the first floor is staffed 24 hours a day, and the cleaning staff tidies up daily. The breakfast selection is also quite varied, and you don't have to wait long for the elevators. There are plenty of dining options nearby as well. All in all, it was a good experience! I'd consider staying here again on my next trip to Hiroshima."

"We chose the hotel for a good price in a convenient area. We were just staying for one night as a trip from an Osaka base and just took things for an overnight stay. It worked perfectly for us to visit Miyajima on arrival in Hiroshima, stay overnight then visit the Peace Park & Museum the following day. The hotel is perfectly positioned and we paid a little extra for a room with a view of the surviving dome building (photo). The room had older furnishings but was clean and comfortable and had been updated with usb ports for charging phones. The bathroom was clean and the shower was good. We paid for breakfast which was very good and had a wide variety of food options- both western style and Japanese style. We would choose to stay there again."

"It is located right at the train station which makes travelling seamless and worry free! My son loves the Pokémon centre which is next to the hotel. We travelled from Kansai airport in the Shinkansen to Hiroshima. There's many cafes and shopping outlets at or close to the hotel. The pillow is comfy. The amenities were stocked up daily. The only downside is the complication of the same hotel name but with an additional 'south gate' at the station. Where we stayed is called Hotel Granvia Hiroshima. Initialy we went to Hotel Granvia Hiroshima South Gate. Overall, a good experience."

"I've been to the Vessel Hotel nearby several times for their breakfast buffet, but this was my first time staying overnight. Not only was the breakfast buffet high quality, but everything about the hotel was incredibly satisfying. I travel abroad about a third of the year, so I'm always pleased with the service at Japanese business hotels, but this one truly exceeded my expectations. From now on, when I'm looking for a hotel for domestic trips, I'll definitely want to use this chain. Unfortunately, they don't have locations in my next destinations, Yamaguchi City or Shimonoseki City (T_T)."

"Location is ok, about a 15~25min walk from Hiroshima station depending if you have luggage or not. You can walk to the main sightseeing area near the atomic dome and it takes about 25mins. So it is not in the most convenient location but it is close enough. Lotsa food options nearby and it is right by the river so it is quiet at night. Staffs are very friendly and you get free coffee/tea downstairs. I wish they have bus pickups at hiroshima station as walking to the hotel with luggage can be tiring."

"This is my fourth time staying here, and I stayed for three days this time too. The twin room is very spacious and comfortable, and the furniture is well-designed. The high-floor view is also great. However, the service really has issues, especially with a female staff member named Akiyama. It was raining continuously during my stay, and when I went out at 11 AM, all the umbrellas were gone. She had a very bad attitude and just told me to go buy one at the convenience store, which made me really angry. Honestly, it's a management problem; they don't ask for room numbers when lending umbrellas, and no one collects them when you return."

"Initially i wanted to book a hotel somewhere in the downtown. But the breakfast and the dinner here caught my eyes. Also the view of the inland islands. I stayed 2 nights here, I came from Fukuoka where my plane landed. The taxi fare from hiroshima station to the hotel is about 3000-3500 yen. There is free hotel shuttle bus but i did not take it. Also, there is public bus stopping right outside the hotel (which i found out later). Though the hotel is old, it is well kept and clean. The staff were very eager to assist the guests and there is always a smile on the face. I was given the 17th floor facing east. But the morning sun was too bright. Though it didnt matter much to me. Another reason i booked this hotel is they have speed boat counter for Miyajima island. I booked one way there as I have the JR pass for return and I have plans after. One way ticket from hotel to Miyajima is 2400 yen and return is 4500 yen. There is a convenience store in the hotel. But I believe they closes at 2200. Also, there is hot spring in the hotel. There is a usage charge for it, but i do not recall the price as i did not use. I went up to the bar on the 1st night. The view was great. Most importantly the price are reasonable too. For both days, i ate at the chinese restaurant for breakfast. 1st day was Japanese breakfast set. 2nd day was Japanese buffet style breakfast. They were delicious. The western and Japanese buffet breakfast at the top floor were very crowded. But they had more selections. For my return trip to Beppu, I used the concierge (bell desk) to send my big luggage to Fukuoka. The price was okay. I took the hotel shuttle bus go Hiroshima station. It was a pleasant ride. Do take note it is first come first serve and there’s a queue. I will stay here again, should I come back to Hiroshima. Thank you."

"Very grand hotel, dated in the age of build. Very clean bathroom and beds. Amazing, grand entrance way. Very close to sightseeing areas and local sighseening bus stops. Excellent view of the city. Lots of personal amenity provided (toothbrush etc). Access to gym/fitness centre is additional (substantial) costs. Lovely staff with excellent English."

"Lovely stay in Hiroshima. It’s only a few stops away from the main train station and offers breakfast for free in the main floor (7-10am) which was very convenient. The rooms felt spacious after tokyo and the beds were confortable. Recommendable if you are staying more than one night or plan on having a late night around nakaregawa dori."
