"We had a wonderful stay at Boracay Tropics Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome with their warm hospitality and friendly service. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy for our family to relax after a day of exploring Boracay. The swimming pool was a great place to unwind, and the hotel’s peaceful atmosphere made our vacation even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choices, and the location was convenient—close enough to the beach, restaurants, and other attractions while still being quiet and relaxing. Overall, we had an amazing experience and truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. "So let's begin with the positives. The staff is excellent, beyond excellent they will go out of everything to make you feel accommodated. They are unbelievably attentive. Another positive aspect is its location which is literally right on the sand. Can't get much closer to the beach than this hotel. And did I mention that the staff was very accommodating? When you want to lounge on the beach, the staff will rush out immediately to position the lounges and put towels down. They truly work hard to assist your every need when you are on the beach. An improvement would be updated lounge chairs with cushions but you are not lounging on the sand unless you want to. So as I said, I want to start off with a positive but there are serious negatives about this hotel in fact to the point at which I would suggest booking a different hotel if at all possible. First on the list of negatives is that the food at the restaurant is less than mediocre. Yes you will get breakfast but in all honesty, you might just want to pass that up. Nothing is kept hot...nothing. Everything is served lukewarm or cold except for the eggs which they do make right away...the fresh cooked eggs is the only exception to luke-warm or in some cases even slightly undercooked food. However, what should be cold is never cold, for example even though the milk has a sign that says cold milk it is always room temperature as well as the juices. The cold milk is warm...always,,,,while the food that should be warm or hot is always cold or virtually well on its way to being cold. It's interesting that even though they have the small gas flame burners at the bottom of containers for food, they are never on. Additionally I would recommend that if you are not accustomed to luke-warm to cold Filipino style food again, you may want stay eat somewhere else because most of the food served is Filipino style and while Filipino food can be quite good, not here. Now for the accommodations. The rooms are at best motel style rooms with the AC blasting down on you constantly. Your only alternative is to turn the AC on and off throughout the night to get a break. The rooms themselves are rustic and extremely noisy because everything faces the courtyard and you have concrete surrounding you so it echoes in any conversation especially at night. Sound just echoes throughout the entire place. There is constant noise so bring your ear plugs. I will say, staff keeps everything very clean so no problems there at all. It's just that the entire facility is not well-designed or well maintained for most travelers' expectations. For example, The hot water in the shower it's turned on similar to a faucet bathtub style but the water literally trickles out (at least in my room). Fortunately you do get some hot water coming through the shower head and while it is barely enough to take a shower, it is not what you would expect at a hotel price. I selected this hotel because it has so many good reviews online and it has a lot of 10s out of10s. One site lists it as 4.9 out of 5, I thought that was great but after a few nights, I am convinced that these reviews are from the owners, owner friends or staff or perhaps all of them. It is completely beyond my imagination that this hotel can get those kinds of reviews especially as there are other hotels that are around to compare with. I have traveled a lot and this is probably not more then a five to six at most out of 10 and the only reason it's that high because of staff. Again....5.5 to 10 is my rating on this motel/hotel."

"This is a wonderful hotel, exactly as described, and the photos are completely accurate. The staff is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay throughout your vacation. Any issues that arose were resolved in minutes. You can tell they truly value their reputation. Just a heads-up: payment at the hotel is cash-only. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, beyond words. It's right in the heart of all the entertainment and leisure spots, and only a 5-minute walk to the sea. I do want to mention one significant drawback: there was a lot of noise from equipment operating near our room, which was quite unpleasant. You do get used to it over time and eventually tune it out, but it might be an important consideration for some. In the last few days of our stay, the hot water started to disappear, becoming only lukewarm, and this issue couldn't be resolved. Also, the Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working completely on our last night (Friday to Saturday) without any explanation, so we had to use mobile internet until check-out. For us, the breakfasts were a notable downside – the selection of dishes was extremely limited. Coffee was only served from a pot (likely instant), and coffee from the machine was an extra charge. However, after I brought this up, the issue with the coffee machine was resolved. For the next six breakfasts, they made complimentary machine coffee for my partner and me. Special thanks to the entire hotel team and for the lovely daily notes in our room that brightened our mood and made our vacation even more enjoyable!"

"Thank you for a wonderful stay! This review is completely honest! My wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary. The hotel very kindly upgraded our room and put us closer to the sea at JONY'S BEACH RESORT, with the sea just across the road. I would like to express my special gratitude to the staff. The hotel staff are very friendly, smiling, and pleasant people. They will help you with anything and tell you everything you need to know. They decorated our room and the wall in honor of our anniversary and scattered rose petals on the bed, which was very sweet and pleasant. Upon check-in, the hotel provided a very tasty welcome drink, which was freshly squeezed watermelon. In our experience, it was the most delicious drink among other hotels. Breakfast with a sea view is wonderful, a great restaurant. The excellent JONY'S restaurant on the beach, I recommend it to everyone! The hotel provides currency exchange, which is very convenient. If you are leaving early in the morning and don't have time for breakfast, they will give you sandwiches to take with you, and you can choose the flavor yourself. It was very nice, we enjoyed the sandwiches and water at the airport! Thank you to the very friendly staff, the wonderful girls at the reception, the administration, and the entire hotel for a great time. "Our stay at Alta Vista Hotel was truly unforgettable, especially since this was our self-gift birthday celebration. Thankful kami sa discount for our 1-day extension, plus the special-time shuttle pickup on our last day and the packed breakfast pabaon—sobrang thoughtful! A big thank you din for the birthday cake surprise, it really meant a lot to us. Special mention to the manager and the whole team for going the extra mile. We also loved all the packages included, especially the trips to Puka Beach and Ilig-Iligan Beach with towels and on-time pickup—very organized and hassle-free. The place is peaceful, spacious, and perfect if you want a quiet environment. The facilities are great, and the staff are super friendly—nakikipagbiruan pa special to mention Mr. Forever (Denmark 🥰)kaya ang saya ng vibe! The food was unli and super nakakabusog—talagang overwhelming in a good way. Though the pool was not fully functional, okay lang because they provided hourly shuttle service going outside. Honestly, nahirapan kami maghanap ng affordable yet quiet and relaxing hotel, but choosing Alta Vista met almost all our expectations. "So, what can I say about the hotel... overall, it seems there's nothing better on the island. It has its own secluded bay, 2 beaches, and an excellent pool area. All issues are resolved instantly; they are very customer-oriented. We stayed with 3 children: there's plenty to keep them occupied. There's a kids' club for younger children and one for teenagers (something for everyone's interests). The coffee at breakfast is good; the only downside is very limited European food (you can order porridge through the waiter). We liked the restaurant by the bar and the steakhouse. The staff really tries hard! We liked it and will come again."

"Our whole stay was great overall — we really enjoyed our time here! Check-in was a bit delayed at first because they hadn’t yet prepared the complimentary cake and birthday setup they promised, but it wasn’t a big issue at all. The lobby is lovely, smells fresh and clean, and we were served welcome drinks right away while we waited. The staff were generally polite and helpful too. I did witness one incident though: another guest was having a long discussion about not getting back their security deposit for their second room. It took a while, and the guest even asked to speak with a manager, but in the end it was sorted out and it turned out the guest was right all along. I’m just thankful nothing like that happened to us during our stay. Location-wise, it’s right on the beachfront — perfect! Our room was a bit of a walk from the shore, but honestly, we didn’t mind it at all. It gave us a chance to move around, get some steps in, or walk off our meals before heading back 😂 The room itself was very spacious and smelled nice, but we did encounter quite a number of mosquitoes and fleas — I ended up with a lot of bites! Thankfully I didn’t get sick or contract dengue, but I hope they can improve pest control, especially since the rooms are surrounded by greenery and a forest-like setting. The shower was also a little tricky to adjust the temperature and pressure, but manageable. What I really appreciated was their service: they constantly refilled our drinking water and even replenished all toiletries and supplies regularly, even if we hadn’t finished using them yet — not many hotels do that! They also provided free slippers when we asked, and having umbrellas available in the room for us to use anywhere was such a lifesaver, especially since it was rainy season and my husband forgot ours back in Manila. ☔ The breakfast buffet was another highlight — the selection changed every day, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. My husband and I truly looked forward to it each morning. Overall, our whole stay was wonderful. We will definitely book here again when we return to Boracay — just next time, I’ll make sure to bring plenty of insect repellent and lotion! 😂"

"This hotel is absolutely fantastic! Everything was incredibly clean, and the staff were both friendly and highly professional. We loved our executive suite—it was so cozy and offered stunning views of the beach. The food was delicious, and it's clear the chefs are highly skilled and take great pride in their presentation. We also truly appreciate the wonderful surprise cake and beautiful bed decorations they arranged for my daughter’s birthday. It made her special day even more memorable! I will definitely be back and will continue to recommend this place to my family and friends (I’ve already started!). Thank you all for an amazing stay!"

"The location is excellent - it’s right along the main road, making it very convenient to get to the beachfront (only 5 mins walk) and other attractions. What we loved most was how easy it was to catch an e-trike to get around. It only costs ₱15 per person to Station 2 and ₱20 per person to Station 1 (make sure to ask if it is for sharing, cause some e-trikes are for hire where you’ll be asked to pay for a special price). You can definitely walk if you prefer, but with kids, taking an e-trike is much more convenient. 😅 Housekeeping is available daily upon request, the staff are warm and friendly, and the suite is spacious and comfortable. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Our only downside was that the building does not have an elevator, despite it being advertised. "The hotel is located in Station 3, which makes it a little less convenient if you want to explore the restaurants and cafés around Station 1 and 2. However, their breakfast and service are what really made our stay worthwhile. The hotel is very straightforward and has smaller pools, but we didn’t mind at all because it was less crowded. They also have an elevator, which is a plus. I stayed here while I was working, and one of my favorite things was being able to sit on their beachfront chairs after breakfast, work, and enjoy the beautiful view at the same time. I think this is one of the most affordable hotels in the Mandarin group, but it definitely doesn’t feel left behind. The rooms are bigger than those at Mandarin Nest, and I personally found the breakfast much better as well. One thing they could improve in the future is the flooring or tiles, as they’re starting to look a little dated. I also loved the small thoughtful touches. They gave us good-night treats every evening, welcome drinks upon arrival, and their staple beach slippers that you can even take home. Overall, it’s less crowded and has one of the best beachfront experiences. At times, it honestly feels like you have the beachfront almost to yourself. If you prefer a quieter stay with good service, spacious rooms, great breakfast, and a relaxing beachfront atmosphere, this is a great choice.
