"Cute bungalows on a remote island. However, we had to wait for 1:40hr for our lunch, and the buffet which cost almost a 1000 pesos ran out of food and had very limited vegetarian options. Most of the ”community” vibe was greatly diminished due to about 20 people from a tour group that already knew each other showed up, which created a very segregated feeling. We also had some form of animal poop all over our bed, which the staff just tried to explain away as dirt from the roof. We had to convince them to give us a new room. Plus points for them helping out and arranging a transfer for the clothes we forgot on the island!"

"What a stay! The staff are so unbelievably welcoming and friendly. Upon arrival you’re greeted by happy members of staff and a welcome drink. Although they give you lots of information at the beginning they helpfully provide an A4 piece of paper with it all on afterwards so you don’t forget. After quite a disastrous day of travel for us, all of it was forgotten thanks to the staff and beautifulness of the hotel. They were also the only hotel we stayed at (we’ve stayed at many while travelling around Philippines) that acknowledged and cared about the fact it was our honeymoon. They also assisted with our booking of taxis and the underground river tour (highly recommend!). On the beach they also offer free kayak hire for guests. Thank you for a lovely stay! Highly recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is located not on the shore itself, but on a hill. There are wonderful views of the sea in one direction and the mountains in the other. Walk to the sea no more than 10 minutes. We lived in a separate house. The hotel involves living in nature: the area is very quiet, only the sounds of birds, frogs, etc. can be heard. The windows are not glazed, but there is a mosquito net over the bed. The floor air conditioner worked, but could barely cope (in April during the hot season). There is not always water in the shower, and ants come. We regard this as the price we pay for living in nature. The staff was friendly and helped us contact the dispatcher and call a public minibus to the hotel in order to get to Puerto Princesa without transfers."

"This place was absolute paradise. The beach is stunning with beautiful sunsets just around the corner. There are loads of beach bars and restaurants around and the beach is clean with clear waters. Many tourists travel here for the day and stay elsewhere so this place was perfect for those evenings in a bar or on the porch and looking at the sea. This place is right on the sea and listening to the waves while falling asleep was relaxing. The amenities were excellent and a lovely warm shower to wash away the sand. The only issue with this place was the service and lack of cleaning/ restocking. Sand is an inevitability and we lacked the necessary tools to clean the room so it got quite sandy after a couple of days and the cups from the welcome drinks were there for three days. We don’t require or expect daily cleaning but we stayed 5 nights and the room was made up once (not including bedding and towels). That being said, this place is amazing. There are few better locations and the calmness made for a perfect little break for us. Will definitely stay here again! Also a little bonus for dog lovers- there is a gorgeous little beach dog that chills on the porch and gets excited every time you come and go! He was super friendly, loving us and loved by all the guests!"

"We really liked the place/bungalo, the view is amazing from the pool and cafe! Very cool authentic place 👍🏼! Especially for such as us who first arrived in the Philippines From the downsides (but it is personal for me). Sleep can be said in a hug with the fan, as hot and dusty. But it is individually. The couple would be OK 👌🏼 On food and drinks! Classic necks, mohito - so to yourself, to put it mildly, because they add lemon, not lime Dinner; great pizza, good shrimp, terrible tom-jam. Personal super!"

"We stayed here for 8 nights and had an amazing experience starting from my first emails with the resort before our arrival until our last day. The entire team delivered truly excellent service and the small but beautiful resort felt very intimate and super friendly. They even made us a personalised present and decorated our room beautifully for our anniversary. The resort is well looked after, peaceful and has a great sunset view with happy hour ;) Special thanks to Diana, Kay, Jessel and Jeya for being the friendly faces greeting and welcoming us every day!"

"What a wonderful stay at Buko Beach Resort. Close tricycle ride to the hustle and bustle if you wish. This resort is peaceful if you want to relax next to the beach. The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable with all the amenities that you need. The staff are so friendly and helpful they will assist you anyway they can to make your stay convenient. The food tastes great and there are a variety to choose from while you enjoy the Seaview. They arrange island trips for you and can also arrange SPA treatments for you in your room which is devine and so convenient. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to El Nido."

"Located just north of the main town and boat departure beach. Complimentary 24-hour tuktuk service, but walking only takes 15 minutes or so. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and A/C worked well. Bed and pillows were a little firm, but reasonably comfortable. Included breakfast is good. Resort is divided into 3 parts. Cadlao 1, 2, and 3. 1 is at the entrance, 2 is next, and 3 is the farthest away (but still only a few minutes walk). 3 is also the most secluded, which might make it a little quieter. J Benito tour agency is directly across from the entrance, if you want to schedule tours."

"We stayed only one night, but have been warmly welcomed. Nice and clean hotel, although it was terrible weather (storm) there was no issue (flooding or leakage), the room was comfortable, with good size and arrangement. Breakfast can be taken with a very nice view on the beach (careful, it’s not the best beach of the area). Team welcomed us warmly, there are restaurants (TAAS worth it) all around which makes a good location overall (trip in tricycle to the town is always funny)."
