"The pictures look nothing like what it actually looks like. Very rundown, stairs to the second story were concrete and almost every step was cracked and sounded like you would fall any second. The room was so stuffy and smelled like mold. Which there was in the shower room."

"This hotel was in a perfect location for our families spring break trip while we visited the Mamath Caves, Lost River Cave and the National Corvette Measume. Plenty of restaurants around and easy on/off of the main hwy. Breakfast being included was a plus. My boyfriend enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the kids loved the waffles. The pool and hot tub were loved by all and we went in them all of the three nights we were there. The rooms were average size and nothing special, could use a little fixing up here and there and maybe some hooks on back of bathroom door or a rack above toilet for a place to hang towels but it was a place to sleep and shower. One thing I can say is that the parking lot was not very large in the front of the hotel and most spots already taken as times we came and went so we had to park on the side lot which is on a slanted hill and it's a pain in the butt getting in and out. We would still stay again as the price for what you get was the best we found around."

"I looked at a bunch of reviews and relied on the brand of Marriott before choosing the Courtyard by Marriott in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Check in was underwhelming, but no big deal. I said, “Hello. We’re checking in.” Doris said, “ID” with as little expression as she could manage. (I said Doris, but I’m guessing. Mostly guessing Doris Karloff.) Doris spoke as little as possible and we were easily intimidated, so we didn’t ask any questions. The room was nice. Typical of this class of hotel. No obvious problems. We were pretty tired and went to bed soon after arriving. Next morning, my wife heads to the shower first. After a fairly short time in the shower, she comes out to find me and reports that the shower is not draining. I go take a look and yep! Sure enough, there’s about two inches of water in the floor of the shower and it ain’t going anywhere. What to do? There’s a long rectangular plate where the drain ought to be, so I’m assuming it’s some new fancy drain. But it ain’t draining. We’ve got to get ready and get out of here. We’ve got a funeral to go to an hour and a half away and we’ve already slept a little late. Call the front desk? NO! What if Doris answers? And we’ve got to go! I can tell this plate is not attached, but it’s difficult to get under it with your fingers, so I go through my bags and find something that will lift the plate up. After all, we’ve got to go! The plate does lift up and is not attached. The plate covers a channel deep enough to hold the plate. Now that the plate is up the problem becomes obvious. The channel is FILLED with HAIR, with a touch of mildew. It’s a gnarly sight. Anyone who’s ever owned a home has probably had to deal with this issue in the bathroom tub / shower drain. Normally, it’s a bit icky to deal with even when it’s your own family. But it’s part of housekeeping. This situation did not happen over a few days or a few weeks. This was a LOT of hair and NASTY! I really should call the desk and have someone take care of this, but we’ve got to go! So… I made a toilet paper mitt and collected the contents of the channel. It was easily the size of a baseball. Disgusting. I threw the toilet paper hair ball in the bathroom trash. The water drained very well after that. I did not clean much of the mildew, but some of it was ‘scrubbed’ out by the hair. But we’ve got to go, so we left and returned to the hotel late. Slept one more night and showered without incident the next morning. At checkout time, there was a woman working who we had encountered once before. Probably the nicest woman in Kentucky. Seeing her instead of Doris made me think I should report the situation to her. She’ll get the information where it needs to go! After all, it seems obvious that if our room had this type of drain many or all of the other rooms will have the same type… and many LOCATIONS probably have the same type… and it also seems obvious that housekeeping is NOT lifting up the drain covers"

Best Western Plus Bowling Green ★★★
"Very nice, pleasant hotel, located in a part of the city where there are a lot of restaurants and shops. Cleanliness ok. Breakfasts unfortunately poor, especially compared to the standard in similar class hotels in Europe. But ok, this is the US, a slightly different approach to the customer. ;-) To sum up - considering the relationship between price and quality, I recommend this hotel."

"The service was great for checking in. The room was clean and comfortable However, we were in a room on the first floor. We could hear the person in the room above us walking around but it sounded like he was stomping the whole time. Very loud. I could hear the people in the next room talking all evening. So for several hours I was listening to stomping from above me and people talking next to me. The door to the bathroom was broken so it didn’t close completely."
