"The biggest surprise of my Weishan trip was the 'Xishe' guesthouse! The entire courtyard is charmingly antique, with a truly unique design where every step reveals a new beautiful view. Sunbathing on the wooden veranda upstairs was incredibly therapeutic. Not only is the environment stunning, but the hospitality is also exceptional. The landlady is warm, generous, and incredibly elegant. During our stay, she helped us with many small daily issues, making us feel like we were visiting old friends – so warm and thoughtful. Finally, I have to give a special shout-out to the front desk lady: while relaxing at the guesthouse, I heard her playing songs by Chang Chen-yue and Stefanie Sun! They're all my favorite artists, her taste is simply divine! Listening to my favorite tunes in such a beautiful courtyard truly set the perfect ambiance. Full recommendation, I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Weishan!"

"Weishan is truly a hidden gem of a small town. It's less crowded, more scenic, and not overly commercialized, making it perfect for relaxation and a slower pace of life. The stay exceeded my expectations. The room was excellent, and I especially loved the large bathtub overlooking a huge floor-to-ceiling window. Moonlight streamed in, and soaking in the tub with a glass of wine created a truly enchanting atmosphere. The owner was incredibly warm and attentive. Since we were traveling with children, they proactively offered to add an extra blanket – a thoughtful touch. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay and I highly recommend it."

Since the hotel restaurant wasn't open yet, they gave us breakfast vouchers for a restaurant just across the street. The hotel is very close to the ancient city, just a few minutes' walk. Overall, it was a great stay."

It's located in a great location within the ancient town. Service: The owner was very friendly, even though I was out early and back late. On my first day, I was working late and the main door was locked, but I called the owner to open it. Facilities: There are several tea rooms and rest areas, creating a feeling of being nestled in the mountains and by the water. The guesthouse itself has views and a courtyard. However, the bathroom's wet and dry separation wasn't very good, and the shower pressure wasn't very strong. The convenience of being in the ancient town is great, but the downside is that the old wooden structure has poor sound insulation, and the accommodation space is cramped. The tatami room, about 30 square meters, had a large area dedicated to a tea table. With two suitcases open, it was almost impossible to move around, and people were jumping around on the bed! 😂 The room had a courtyard view, and there was a guqin (a traditional Chinese stringed instrument) area right by the window where children would play and relax, which was quite noisy. Privacy was also poor; I could only keep the curtains drawn. The seats near the entrance were often occupied by people chatting and relaxing. Hygiene: It can't be compared to chain hotels. Small black spots and particles were found on the bath towels and bedding. There were cobwebs in the bathroom. Being close to nature, some small insects and moths are unavoidable. Suitable for travelers who are out early and back late, and who prioritize decor and convenience."

"The location is in the east of the ancient city. It is not on the most prosperous and lively main street, so it is much quieter. The inn is well decorated. It can be seen that the owner has good taste. The room is spacious, especially the bathroom is separated into dry and wet. If you don't know how to take a shower, you will wet the toilet. It is much more convenient than many other similar inns. Poor sound insulation is a common problem of all wooden inns. If you don't sleep well, it is best to prepare earplugs and other items to assist. The boss is very nice and enthusiastic. After arriving, he treated us to the famous local roasted tea, homemade papaya vinegar and plum lemon slices. In the evening, he also helped us prepare roasted bait blocks and Dali's most famous three-course tea. It was very pleasant to chat with the boss and other guests. I heard from the boss himself that he was going to renovate the inn and add the roof to it. In the future, you can go directly to the roof to sit and chat and watch the stars. I look forward to staying here when I go to Weishan again in the future😆"

"Overall, the stay was fantastic! Highly recommended! Facilities: This is a newly opened guesthouse, so all the facilities are brand new. The common areas are well-designed, with a fireplace that brings warmth on cold winter nights, plus a self-service kitchen and washing machine. The rooms feature 'Xiao Du' smart controls, automatic flush toilets, and a wonderfully comfortable hot shower on winter evenings. There's also air conditioning in the room, so it never gets too cold. Cleanliness: The guesthouse staff are incredibly diligent, starting their cleaning early every morning. The common areas are spotless, and the rooms are also kept very clean and tidy. Environment: The environment looks exactly like the photos, with tasteful design. Though the courtyard is small, it's very pleasant, offering delightful photo opportunities everywhere. The guesthouse's location is also excellent, situated on the edge of the ancient city, accessible by car, so you don't have to drag your luggage up hills through the pedestrian-only ancient town streets. It's right next to Mengyang Park, close to the Confucius Temple and Chongzheng Academy (which houses a popular bookstore). Service: The guesthouse owner and their team are incredibly warm and attentive. Breakfast is arranged at several famous restaurants within the ancient city, all well-known, long-standing establishments. The guesthouse also recommends other highly-rated restaurants for lunch and dinner."
