Romantic Hotels in Yunnan, China

The Kaleidoscope room is truly amazing! You can capture the chimney night view right from the balcony, and the most stunning surprise was on the day we left – I opened the curtains and saw the sunrise, it was absolutely beautiful. The hotel staff's service attitude was also excellent. I accidentally scraped another car while parking, and they quickly helped resolve it. They even gave us two complimentary breakfasts afterward. I'm truly grateful; this hotel is genuinely fantastic. The shuttle bus takes you directly to the scenic area for photos, but the Dongfengyun Scenic Area is only really suitable for taking pictures; we finished exploring in half an hour. By 3 PM, we were so bored we just watched TV at the hotel. If I hadn't booked the hotel in advance, I would have just gone back to Kunming that evening.

This hotel truly boasts a first-class river view, offering stunning sunset views every day and a light show across the river. The front desk lady was exceptionally warm and welcoming. My only minor complaint is the constant buzzing sound at night, which seemed to be from the neighboring air conditioning unit, likely because our family room was on the end.

I had the most beautiful stay in Jianshui. The hotel was clean, bright and very comfortable. The hospitality was fantastic, which as a solo traveller I was very grateful for. I was given tea and fruit on arrival and the laoban introduced me to all the key spots in Jianshui and sent me recommendations of food spots too. I was given a delicious breakfast with some of the best congee I've had in China! I really felt at home. The location is fantastic, right in the old town on a beautiful side street with a peaceful quaint atmosphere. The hotel also organised a taxi to take me onto my next destination - thank you both for a wonderful stay. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

The hotel's actual environment is even better than the photos provided, and personally, I think it's even superior to Banyan Tree, yet it costs less than half the price. If you're coming to Lijiang, it's really worth trying out. The breakfast offers a wide selection, and the buffet presentation is up to par with what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The pastries were just okay, and the rice noodles (er si) were a bit bland, but everything else was pretty good. It would be great if there were more golf cart drivers available for rides back to the rooms. We often had to walk back ourselves, and there's a bit of a distance from the hotel entrance to the guest rooms. Luckily, the hotel grounds are beautiful, so the walk wasn't unpleasant. The small petting zoo at the hotel is a nice touch, though the pigs were a bit smelly. But their cuteness makes you forget everything else!

Ah Cheng was very helpful! He made a chat group on WeChat and it was easy to communicate there as we are a non chinese speaking family. He even helped us to book a day-driver to explore Shangri La. All our needs were met. Ah Cheng also explained to us the amenities in the hotel. We were also served delicious soup in our room :) the staff were friendly and welcoming too. They helped us with our luggages, picked us up from the railway & sent us back too :) They even packed for us food in the morning as we’re leaving early for the railway station! There are dogs, ducks, swans, sheeps, deers, and ponies outside our room! The hotel staff even provided us with some food to feed the animals. Kids enjoyed it a lot! Room is very clean and tidy. Love the bathtub overseeing the amazing view.

First and foremost, the hotel's service is exceptional. They offer pickup upon arrival, provide a comprehensive introduction to the hotel, and even upgraded our room. They offer four meals a day, and the welcome bouquet, breakfast, afternoon tea, and late-night snack are all thoughtfully prepared, not just an afterthought. For a small hotel, the food selection is limited but exquisite, with fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. In the evening, there's complimentary tea beer, perfect for a relaxing drink. The room's cleanliness is impeccable, and the facilities are new and tastefully designed. This will definitely be my go-to hotel when I visit Kunming again.

A real hidden gem, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Kungming hotel. The staff were very friendly, warm and really helpful, which is an important thing I look for in my stay. The hotel itself was very clean, neat and tidy, the room was beautiful with a large bathtub, clean linen and a comfortable bed. The hotel gives guests a complimentary fruit plate, bottled water and toiletries so no need to bring your own. There is a beautiful park only a two minute walk away, which in April, was in full bloom and worth a visit. I’m gutted I only spent on night there, would highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back and visit again, for longer next time.

I highly recommend this rare gem in Gaozhuang that offers a tranquil escape amidst the bustle! Outside, it's lively; inside, it's healing~ Go for it, everyone!

Out of the two hotels I stayed at in Lijiang, Jishanxing was where I spent my last night. The hotel's overall ambiance was fantastic. The bed faced the snow-capped mountains directly, and I even got to witness the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' phenomenon on my last day. The hotel boasts a large lawn, perfect for kids to play, and there are even lambs and ponies you can feed! You can also enjoy views of the snow-capped mountains directly from the hotel lobby or your room. Drinks at the bar are all-you-can-drink! Dinner is also available for order at the hotel, which is super convenient. Highly recommend!

I'm a foreigner and stayed here for two nights. **Facilities:** My room faced the first-floor atrium. It had a large projector and a comfortable sofa. The automatic lock on the room door gave me peace of mind. There was also air conditioning, which was great for the chilly mornings and evenings. There's an observation deck on the second floor with a nice view. Since the building is made of wood, those sensitive to noise might prefer staying on the second floor. **Cleanliness:** The bed was clean and comfortable. **Location:** Excellent. Although it's on a hill, getting to Lion Rock Gate by taxi was easy, making it more convenient than staying in the center of the Old Town. There's also a convenience store near the gate, which was handy for groceries. **Service:** Even though I don't speak Chinese, the staff member (哥哥) at the hotel helped me immensely using WeChat translation. His enthusiastic service was a huge help. Thank you so much! Thanks to him, I've fallen in love with Lijiang and want to come back again.
