When I booked, I specifically requested a quiet room, but the location they gave us was simply unbelievable. The room service staff were very good, I'll give them that, but it was so noisy. The soundproofing is truly terrible. I'm not talking about airplanes flying overhead; it's the constant noise from the hallway that's too loud, like a sports meet is happening right outside! It was supposed to be a family room, but there was no kids' club access, no app, and no screen mirroring! The bed was indeed comfortable, but what's going on with the air conditioning? When we first arrived, it was set to cool, but in the middle of the night, we woke up sweating because it was blowing hot air? Did you randomly adjust it for us? We couldn't even control it ourselves. The smart assistant just kept saying 'I'm here' but couldn't adjust the AC or open the curtains! Is this really a smart room? Only the cleanliness and bed comfort were somewhat satisfactory. The BBQ downstairs was both expensive and terrible!

The hotel room was spotless and very quiet at night, which is a huge plus for anyone who values good sleep – highly recommend it! The front desk staff was lovely; the lady at reception paid close attention to the notes I left on Trip.com and even gave me an eye mask. The location is super convenient for transport on weekends, and dining is a breeze with all sorts of malls downstairs and the old street right next door. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great variety of choices. I'll definitely pick this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming.

My partner and I came to Yunnan for our honeymoon during the off-peak season. The front desk lady added me on WeChat beforehand to ask about our preferences and any special requirements. The concierge even thoughtfully sent us directions to the hotel. I have to say, Kunming really has so much delicious food! It's our first time here, and it feels like we could spend several days just exploring this area. **Facilities:** The overall furnishings are quite tasteful. Although the decor and history of this place feel quite dated, you can tell a lot of effort went into it. All the furniture is made of rosewood, and it's clear that the design of the pavilions, terraces, and soft furnishings perfectly aligns with Chinese aesthetics. It's truly beautiful, as if every scene was specifically designed by a professional. There's a really, really large executive lounge that's perfect for photos – it feels more like an upscale business club. It's also great for families and friends! Every single staff member's service was truly exceptional. They enthusiastically greeted us every time they saw us 😄 It was a very, very satisfying experience!

This hotel is located in the Duoyishu Scenic Area of Yuanyang. We chose a room on the 4th floor with a terrace, and the view absolutely blew away all other rooms. We had a vast expanse of terraced fields right in front of us, perfect for photos at any time, especially stunningly beautiful at sunrise – no need to jostle with crowds at the Duoyishu observation deck. The room facilities were pretty complete, including a huge soaking tub, though it felt largely unnecessary. The hotel service was also excellent; they contacted us in advance about our arrival and parking. Since the hotel is situated on a hillside, it's not accessible by private car, but the hotel provides a minivan for pick-up and drop-off at any time. There's no elevator, but the hotel staff were very helpful with luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel offers breakfast sets and also has an à la carte menu. I highly recommend this place for guests who want to enjoy beautiful scenery without having to get up too early or rush to crowded scenic spots. All the photos and videos below were taken from the hotel room.

The staff here are incredibly welcoming and helpful! They were super friendly and always ready to answer questions or solve any issues we had. I originally booked a standard room for my one-night stay, specifically requesting a clean, non-smoking room. To my surprise, they upgraded me for free! 🥰 The room was huge, beautiful, and spotless, with absolutely no smoke smell, which was a huge plus. There were three distinct seating areas: a desk for working, a two-seater area with a wall-side sofa perfect for takeout, and a comfy lounge chair on the other side, great for watching movies on the projector 🎞️. The bathroom was also sparkling clean (a germaphobe like me was thrilled!). They even provided disposable toilet seat covers, which was a nice touch. You could tell the toiletries were of high quality; my boyfriend even commented on the shiny packaging and how the toothbrush wasn't stiff and cheap like some hotel amenities (he said, 'Chinese products are really good!' 😂). The bedding was excellent too, ensuring a great night's sleep, and the surrounding area was quiet, allowing for proper rest. For anyone traveling to the high-speed rail station the next day, the location is super convenient – just a 13-minute walk! There are also plenty of food and drink options nearby. This stay was genuinely exceptional! Highly recommended! ✨

Just pulled up to the hotel and — plot twist — our room wasn’t ready. Shocking, I know. They’d just survived the Water Festival the day before, so the place was probably still half-drowned and hungover. The receptionist dude was an absolute saint. His female colleague, however… let’s just say she was clearly auditioning for the role of “Cranky Receptionist from Hell.” I’m 99% sure she was on her period and the other 1% was pure personality. Thankfully they upgraded us, which was nice. I never saw the original room, so for all I know they moved us from a broom closet to a slightly larger broom closet with a view. Speaking of which — the view? Legit fire. The room itself? Clean enough. Dry sink area: spotless. Toilet: sparkling. Then came the shower — oh boy. It started off promising, like a decent enough setup… until my girlfriend jumped in. Five minutes later the hot water ghosted her mid-shampoo like a bad Tinder date. One second she’s happily singing, next second she’s screaming like she just got waterboarded by ice cubes. I’ve stayed in fancier bathrooms in Mexican motels that still had bullet holes in the walls and more reliable plumbing. Breakfast was… breakfast. The kind of “basic” that makes you nostalgic for airplane food. But hey, they gave us more bottled water than a doomsday prepper’s basement, so points for hydration. We were only there for two nights — in and out like a cheap Tinder date. Would I go back? Big fat question mark with a side of “probably not even if they paid me.” ⁉️

Bringing parents to Mangshi for vacation, it is too wise to choose the Penxi Hotel, whether it is the environment, health, service, facilities, location are online, the elders live super comfortable! The overall environment is quiet and clean. There are many tropical green plants in the lobby on the first floor. You can feel the tropical wind when you enter the door. The room hygiene is nothing to say, the bedding is dry and soft, the floor, window sill, and bathroom corners are cleaned, the bathroom is also separated from wet and dry, and the cleaning is super timely every day. The elders are particularly satisfied with the hygiene. The butler service is also very intimate, the whole process is patient and thoughtful, the check-in efficiency is super high, the staff takes the initiative to help with luggage, and the caring recommendation is suitable for the elderly to play routes. Any demand response is super fast, and the whole process is very thoughtful. The facilities are particularly suitable for the needs of the elders. The room is super large. The house is equipped with a Dyson hair dryer and Parma water washing. The mattress is moderately hard and soft. The central air conditioner is not noisy. There is a large bubble pool on the terrace. You can see the Golden Tower and Silver Tower when you take a bath. You can also see a super beautiful sunset in the pool. The location is superb, the parking lot is super convenient for self-driving, 2 kilometers away from Shwedagon Pagoda and Yinta, and it is very convenient to take a taxi. There are also local food stalls at the entrance of the village. There are many categories. You don’t have to go far to eat. The overall experience is full. It’s right to live here in Mangshi!

Five-star review! The hotel's scenery is absolutely breathtaking, the views from the room are stunning, beautiful both morning and night. The hygiene is impeccable, and the facilities are comprehensive, with excellent oxygen supply, making for a comfortable and peaceful stay. The service was attentive and thoughtful throughout, with incredibly friendly staff, ensuring a pleasant experience from check-in to check-out. They even offered sweet soup and bird's nest in the evenings, which was a lovely touch, and reminded us to dress warmly due to the large temperature difference between day and night. For a relaxing getaway in Shangri-La, staying here is a guaranteed good choice. I've already recommended it to my friends! Grassland pasture characteristic ******* clothing changing experience: They even include a travel photoshoot. The clothes are especially beautiful and much cleaner and prettier than the ones offered for photoshoots in the old town.

Amazing experience! Wonderful host, beautiful room, good quality amenities, very comfy bed, AI, heater in room to keep you warm, local snacks for afternoon tea, daily local breakfast (crossing bridge mi xian set), free shutting to accommodation (arrival) and to train station (departure), and also washing machine and dryer available for use. Owner also provides little farewell souvenir upon your departure. Accommodation is just 5 mins minutes walk from the Dukezong Ancient City. I forgot my jacket when departing and owner immediately helped to arranged for courier which arrived at Kunming on the same day. Would love to return again when in Shangri-La.

GGuest UserThis was my second stay at a Banyan Tree property, and once again, it turned out to be a truly memorable and pleasant experience. Frank, our personal concierge, was exceptionally responsive and attentive throughout our stay. He was always quick to assist with our requests and even replied to messages after regular working hours. There was a minor housekeeping incident during our stay, but Frank handled the service recovery professionally and resolved the matter promptly. The thoughtful gesture of providing gifts and a cake was greatly appreciated, and my child absolutely loved the surprise. From start to finish, we felt genuinely well taken care of. Frank’s service was highly commendable, and he is definitely a valuable asset to the Banyan Tree Group. Our dinner experience at Baiyun was also superb. The ambience was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We also enjoyed the complimentary photoshoot session, which became one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. Our photographer was incredibly professional and patient, guiding us throughout the session and capturing many beautiful photos. In the end, I decided to purchase a photo package because the photos turned out so well and were truly worth it. The staff there were also warm, friendly, efficient, and highly responsive. There are, however, a few areas that could be improved: 1. The menu and operating schedule for Mingyue were somewhat confusing. We had planned to have dinner there one evening, only to realize that Chinese cuisine was not served on certain days and during certain hours, which required us to make alternative arrangements. 2. The soundproofing in the room could be improved, as we were able to hear our neighboring guests quite clearly even when they were speaking at normal volume. 3. The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent. Although we adjusted it to a comfortable level, the temperature would occasionally drop suddenly and become very cold. 4. Staff could perhaps be slightly more observant and proactive. On our first day, it was raining when we arrived at the room via buggy. There was no sheltered area where we alighted, so we had to stand briefly in the rain while moving our luggage. 5. The fruit platter in the room could be fresher. The apples and oranges did not seem as fresh compared to what we experienced at other hotels in Dali and Kunming. 6. Breakfast options could be expanded further. I was also hoping to find more fresh and exotic detox juices, especially ones prepared on the spot. (Similar to Bintan Banyan Tree) Despite these minor issues, our overall stay was still excellent. The scenery and views within the resort were absolutely stunning, and we especially enjoyed being able to feed the ducks and fishes. It created a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for the family. We would definitely love to return again someday.

YYappariStory✨ Overall Impression Stepping into the hotel, the lobby's design immediately gives you that ”the vacation has begun” feeling. The wooden structures combined with Southeast Asian-style decor – statues, elephant ornaments, and warm lighting – create a gentle, slightly exotic ambiance. It's understated but rich in detail. 🍽️ Dining Experience The hotel's buffet area focuses on ”Yunnan specialty cuisine,” with meticulous attention paid to both plate presentation and space design. The open-plan counters are neat and clean, offering a wide variety of choices. While featuring local flavors, it also caters to different tastes. Overall, it's above average – not stunning, but comfortable and diverse. 🛏️ Room Experience The rooms are spacious and well-laid out, exuding the relaxed vibe of a resort hotel. 🛋️ Features a separate lounge area and a balcony. 🌿 The outdoor terrace is perfect for relaxing in the morning or evening. 🛁 The bathroom is fully equipped with a separate wet/dry area and a bathtub. The overall style is natural and warm, with wood and soft lighting making it easy to unwind. However, upon closer inspection, some facilities show a bit of age, though they are still maintained in a comfortable condition. 🌴 Environment and Facilities The hotel feels more like a resort-style hot spring hotel than a purely business hotel. 🌳 Spacious outdoor areas with a resort atmosphere. 🚗 Luxury cars parked at the entrance enhance the overall sense of class. 🏛️ Richly decorated public areas, perfect for photos. It's particularly suitable for slow-paced travelers rather than those rushing through their itinerary. 💡 Pros Summary ✔️ Spacious and very comfortable. ✔️ Has a resort atmosphere, great for relaxation. ✔️ Diverse dining options. ✔️ Distinctive design, photo-friendly. ⚖️ Areas for Improvement ▫️ Some facilities are a bit dated. Recommended for: ✔️ Those looking to slow down in Kunming. ✔️ Travelers who enjoy hot springs + a resort style. ✔️ Guests who prioritize space and comfort. This isn't a hotel that will wow you at first glance, but it's a place where you can unwind and stay comfortably. In a city with such pleasant weather as Kunming, it feels more like a ”gentle haven” than a showy luxury.

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic. 2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements. 3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well. 4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄 5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing. 6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it. 7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression. 8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job. 9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2). 10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room! 11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around? I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

Aalenxu2We stayed in a Pullman villa, which was incredibly spacious and came with its own private courtyard, offering a very tranquil experience. The hotel provides golf cart service for villa guests; a quick call to the front desk and a cart arrives within 2-3 minutes – very convenient. The hotel package also included afternoon tea, which was of excellent quality, truly five-star standard without any shortcuts. The only drawback is that because the hotel has been open for a while, some of the hardware facilities around the property are showing wear and tear, which detracts from the aesthetics. We even skipped the complimentary travel photography for this reason. I'd suggest they gradually upgrade these facilities.

Uuna22The essence of the Caravan Culture is evident throughout, with delightful surprises in every detail. I've stayed in many hotels, but Indigo Lijiang instantly captivated me. What truly impressed me was the pervasive ”horse” theme – from the giant horse sculpture at the entrance and the leather saddle decor behind the front desk, to the horseshoe patterns on the room carpets, horse stirrup hangers, and even the leather elements incorporated into the key cards and note holders. The entire hotel feels like a modern-day caravan inn, perfectly embodying the historical richness of the Tea-Horse Ancient Road. Staying here, you can almost hear the faint sound of horse bells drifting from the foot of the snow-capped mountains. This immersive cultural experience is truly unique! Hygienic and Ambiance: Healing Moments in the Courtyard The hotel's cleanliness is impeccable; not a speck of dust in any corner. The environment is picturesque – a typical Naxi courtyard with flowing streams, fragrant flowers, and singing birds. Ground-floor rooms with small courtyards allow you to step out and bask in the sun or relax with a cup of tea. My second-floor room also had excellent natural light, with Lijiang's blue sky above, instantly providing that vacation relaxation. Although the hotel has some history, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained, and the design remains stylish and timeless. Service: A special shout-out to David The service deserves the highest praise, especially our butler, David. From the moment we connected on WeChat before check-in, he thoughtfully inquired about our arrival time and helped arrange our room type. During check-in, he patiently explained the horse culture details in our room and even provided a thoughtful itinerary for exploring the ancient town. No matter when I messaged him during our stay, he responded instantly – our food delivery was promptly brought to our room. David's genuine, warm, and professional demeanor made us truly feel at home. Other hotel staff were also very friendly; the housekeeping aunties and lobby bellhops always greeted us with a smile. This perfectly balanced warmth was incredibly touching. Facilities: High-Quality Amenities, Perfect Experience The guest rooms are equipped with Dyson hairdryers, Marshall speakers, and humidifiers. The mini-bar drinks and capsule coffee are complimentary and replenished promptly. The toiletries are from the ”Shanghai Tang” series, with a delightful scent and luxurious feel. In summary, Indigo Lijiang is a hidden gem that excels in culture, environment, service, and facilities. On my next visit to Lijiang, I will undoubtedly choose to stay here again, and I will definitely seek out David!

GGuest UserThis was the best hotel of my whole trip. I don’t speak Chinese, but communicating on WeChat worked perfectly, so everything was very easy. The staff were honestly amazing — super kind, patient, and always ready to help. You can really feel how much they care. They provided free pick-up from the station, which helped us a lot since we had big luggage. The roads in Lijiang Old Town are quite small, so this made everything much more convenient. The location is also great, easy to walk everywhere in the old town. On my last day I had to leave very early, and they even prepared a takeaway breakfast for me. At night, they also gave us warm milk, which was such a nice and thoughtful touch. I just want to say thank you to all the staff. They made my stay really special. This is actually my first time writing a hotel review, and I truly mean it. Highly recommend staying here.

GGuest UserI rarely write reviews, but I simply couldn't resist for this hotel – it's absolutely exceptional in every single aspect. The complimentary airport and train station transfers are a huge plus, and the service is incredibly warm and enthusiastic. They proactively help with all your luggage, big or small. The transfer vehicles are also very comfortable and spotless. Upon check-in, everything in the room is free except for the red wine – instant noodles, drinks, beer, water, coffee, yogurt, and Yunnan black tea are all complimentary. They bring a generous amount of fresh fruit daily, and there's 24-hour rice noodle service, which is a lifesaver for anyone not accustomed to local food; you'll never go hungry. Every evening, there's also tremella soup available. The front desk even has complimentary snacks, fruits, and flower cakes for guests to enjoy. And the room itself? Speechless. The videos and photos on their website are an exact, 1:1 representation of the actual rooms – absolutely no photo trickery. What you see is precisely what you get. The room is impeccably clean, and the array of amenities is extensive. My parents are usually quite picky about hotels, but they absolutely adored this one, praising everything from the room facilities to the balcony views and the spaciousness of the suite. They insisted that on their next trip to Dali, they must stay here again. And most importantly, the staff – from the front desk to the transfer drivers, the F&B team, the ladies who help with luggage, the gentlemen who deliver rice noodles and tremella soup at night, and the three cleaning ladies – everyone is incredibly polite, enthusiastic, and friendly. The owner of this hotel is truly fortunate to have assembled such a fantastic team. The hotel's location, combined with the suite facilities and the wonderful staff, makes for a top-tier experience. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone visiting Dali *must* stay at this hotel at least once – it's absolutely worth every penny!

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at this hotel, and it was just as great as my first visit. On both occasions, the staff kindly upgraded our room due to availability, which was a really pleasant surprise. We ended up with larger rooms that were even more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. The room was clean and very comfortable, making the overall stay very relaxing. I also appreciated that the room looked almost exactly like the photos shown on the Trip.com website—no unpleasant surprises at all. What stood out the most was the staff. They were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. Would definitely return again!

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is located right in the heart of Nanping Street, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. You can walk straight to Kunming Old Street, and there are tons of great food options nearby, so exploring and dining out is a breeze. The property itself is a charming old-style courtyard, with a second floor featuring a terrace and a tea room. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and just chilling out. Plus, there are seven gentle and adorable cats, plus a dog, which the kids absolutely loved—it's a truly immersive cat-petting experience! The service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. In the evenings, the butler even brought complimentary milk. When my child's shoes accidentally got wet, the staff proactively offered to dry them. Any requests we had during our stay were promptly handled, and the overall experience was excellent. Just a heads-up: the building is an old structure with only stairs and no elevator, so if climbing stairs is an issue for you, you might want to reconsider.
