We stayed at Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka during our recent family trip and had a generally pleasant stay.
We travelled as a family of four, and the room size was comfortable enough for all of us. The layout was practical and there was sufficient space for luggage and movement. The room itself was clean and reasonably well kept, although the hotel does show some signs of aging, particularly in certain fixtures and furnishings.
The location is fairly convenient, with easy access to parts of the city and not too far from the main attractions. It worked well for our short family visit around Melaka.
One area that could use improvement is the gym, which unfortunately did not appear to be well maintained during our stay. Some of the equipment seemed worn and the overall condition could be better.
Overall, the stay was comfortable and decent for families, especially if you are looking for a reasonably spacious room at a fair price. With some refurbishment and better maintenance of facilities, the hotel could definitely enhance the guest experience further.
The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of Malacca's old town. When I checked in, the Malaysian lady at the front desk collected a 50 RM cash deposit from me (which another front desk staff member refunded when I checked out the next day). Additionally, she charged an extra 28 RM for some unknown fee (Ctrip showed an 8 RM world heritage fee was due). I stayed for two nights, and Ctrip deducted 475.47 RMB upon checkout.
Room 512 faces west, offering an open view of St. Paul's Hill. The room didn't have a safe or slippers, but it did have a refrigerator, toothbrush, hairdryer, wardrobe, and hangers. The air conditioning was central and could be set to a very low temperature.
Upon entering, I accidentally pressed the 'make up room' button next to the door. Later, after I had gone to bed, a staff member rang the doorbell to clean. They were very responsible; I had to get dressed and explain in person that I didn't need the service before they left.

The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! Of course, everyone's taste differs. The room facilities were great, the bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. I opted for an inner view room to save money, so I couldn't see the pool or the sea, but for just one night, I didn't expect much more. The hotel is very close to all the city's attractions, within walking distance. The front desk and lobby staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and a FamilyMart in the mall next door, which is super convenient. There's also an H.M. downstairs with some good discounts, but I didn't have time to shop as I had a train to catch – a fortunate save! I arrived here by 707 bus from Singapore, and The Pines Hotel is always one of the stops, making the journey very smooth. All in all, this hotel is highly recommended. I don't usually take photos of hotel rooms, so I've included some pictures of nearby attractions, all within about a ten-minute walk.

Booked a room with 2 king beds for a 2 night stay w my family.
Pros :
1. Spacious room size
2. Comfy beds
3. Beautiful view (we could see the entire city and our window was facing towards sea)
4. Free Parking
5. 10-15 mins walking distance to the River Cruise
6. No problems with lifts.
Just some additional notes for travellers :
(If) you don’t want room service to clean your rooms bc you don’t mind reusing your towels, you will not be able to receive the complimentary water bottles.
For families with cars, (if) you need to travel back and forth between the hotel and outside, you will always need to stop by the lobby counter to validate your carpark ticket in order to get free parking and it’s only valid for 15 minutes (more than enough time).

I recently stayed at The Shores Hotel & Residences. Overall, the room was spacious and comfortable, which made the stay quite pleasant. The size of the room is definitely a plus, especially if you’re traveling with family or need extra space.
However, the biggest downside was the lift situation. The waiting time for the elevators was very long, especially during peak hours, which can be quite frustrating. It really affected the overall experience.

Great hotel for Melaka! Old baba nyonya house converted! Still kept some of the features. They even provided old coins as a token for welcome drinks. Rooms were clean and provided most common amenities! Room a tad small, would be good to provide a coach area. Car park insuffient for all guests but understandable for such prime area, able to find spots in surrounding. The bar kept running out of ingredients for cocktails etc, could improve. The toilet at the lobby could be cleaned more frequently. Breakfasts were generally well, especially the local delicacies!

We like it a lot. The room is clean and filled with stuff we didn’t know we needed. E.g. three types of wine glasses
The water pressure is large. Had the best bathe ever.
The room is spacious with a partial sea view. Waking up from the room feels like a dream.

The room condition completely exceeded my expectations. I was a bit worried when I saw it was a renovated old house, fearing small rooms and outdated facilities. Turns out, my worries were completely unnecessary! Both the room and facilities are very new, the service is excellent, and the breakfast is delicious. The location is also fantastic. Just like Melaka itself, this hotel was a big surprise on my Malaysia trip. If I get the chance to visit again, I'd love to stay here for a couple more days.
MITC Hotel Melaka offers a comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, although slightly small. It is suitable for solo travellers or short stays. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient, especially for those attending events at MITC. Overall, it’s a decent choice for business trips or solo travel in Melaka.

AAtiqah MEverything is great except the breakfast situation.. Very limited drink choices. Teh tarik are finished and the dont refill anymore. Cuttleries and glasses also not available. Club lounge food and drinks also limited. When they refill the noodles are gone in few minutes. No time to wait for them to cook another batch which will take longer time. I didn’t visit the club lounge on 2nd day. Very limited drinks at the dinner buffet too. When we requested teh tarik they say only serve during breakfast (which we never tasted as it finished too) 😂 any water supply issue in Melaka?
They can serve free alcohol at the club lounge but couldnt care to serve more drink choices at dinner buffet which we paid more than RM100/pax 👎
We have been to other cheaper hotel but serve varities of drinks and great customer service too. The receptionist never smile. I don’t know why. I have been to Parkroyal Penang and Melaka both have this issues 🤷♀️ I dont know what is wrong with Malaysian hospitality. Maybe they only smile at foreigner 😆

GGuest UserEstadia Hotel Melaka delivers a pleasant stay with its distinctive heritage-themed décor and warm ambiance. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, though some areas may feel slightly worn. Its proximity to major malls and tourist spots makes getting around very convenient. Staff are courteous and responsive, adding to the overall experience. A solid mid-range option for travelers who value character, location, and affordability.
GGuest UserOur stay at Puteri Bay Melaka was great 👍🏼 The location was great because we are able to have a good view of the beach, and it was near food places. The hotel reception and staff were also kind and helpful. Food selection for breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable and had a good sleep 👍🏼👍🏼
The downside was that the toilet was not totally clean as there were strands of hairs sticking out from under the bed. Additionally, there were no toothbrushes provided in the room, and the prayer mat had an odour.
Generally, the stay was good although maybe staff need to ensure the room cleanliness and smell abit more?
I would still recommend the hotel for the comfortable beds and nice view and location beside the waterfront 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

GGuest UserThe room that we stayed has leaking aircond and the breeze from it is not cold enough, it may be broke. The staff at the counter for getting swimming pool tags is not friendly. And I don't like the policy of under 6 years old has to pay for buffet breakfast.

DDihaw DbaI had a minor accident in front of the hotel lobby—I hit the cement curb/bollard in front of the hotel, resulting in a slight scratch/damage to a floor tile (and this particular tile already had several previous damages from other people hitting it before).
Subsequently, an Indian staff member (identified as a supervisor by his colleague) came and took pictures of the damaged tile. The issues I have with his conduct are as follows:
He started chatting with a Chinese customer while pointing out the minor damage and simultaneously pointing towards my car, smiling and chuckling slightly as if mocking or being sarcastic.
Then, another Chinese man (possibly a customer or staff) approached, and he again showed the damaged tile, smiling and chuckling lightly while pointing at my car. My issue here is: there were also Malay customers present; why did he choose the Chinese customers to point out this issue to, but not the Malay customers?
He then approached me and said: ”You have hit and damaged this tile, and you need to know that I will report this to the hotel owner, and you should know that the owner of this hotel is a Chinese person, and I am certain you will have to pay for the damages.” What is the implication of saying, 'the owner of this hotel is a Chinese person'?
I asked why he needed to make a scene and involve other customers to talk about the incident while laughing lightly and smiling as if being condescending, and why this incident was being exaggerated when he himself was aware and had mentioned that customers frequently hit that cement curb.
Is it now my turn to be made to pay for the damage, after it has been hit multiple times by other customers previously?
Am I being made a scapegoat to settle the costs of previous incidents?
Where is the commitment to excellent Customer Service in terms of maintaining a customer's 'dignity' or 'reputation' (air muka) in front of other patrons?
He made a fuss as if I had brought down the whole building.
I am attaching photos of the tile damage and other pre-existing damages.
