The only but the worst problem was that I and my companion had bug bites from the first night of our stays and throughout our stay bites continued to emerge every night. sequence KYOTO GOJO
"I stayed at this hotel. And the access was the best. And the breakfast doesn't have many option but very reasonable price."
THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA KYOTO TOKYU, A Pan Pacific Hotel
"The hotel is near a touristy historic area. The hotel's location is not close to the train station, but they have an hourly hotel bus to the train station which takes about 20 minutes, depending on traffic. The hotel room is not very big but it's adequate. They don't have a proper door to the bathroom, the sink and counter are open to the main room but there is a thin sliding door. so the entrance corridor is also the bathroom sink and counter. I like that the toilet is in its own mini room, as is the shower. the toilet's light turns on automatically when you enter that mini room. There are some nice designs touches in the hotel, which added to our positive experience. Service is very good and helpful 👍. The hotel room has a lot of lights, but still it felt a bit dark in the room."
Keio Prelia Hotel Kyoto Karasuma-Gojo
"Hotel is well maintained and comes with public bath for all guests. It’s located between two train stations along the main street and could be reached within 5 mins walk. Room is spacious, though walking space can be limited after opening two mid size luggages"

"Location is good .. just across the road from JR Kyoto station. There is a Aeon mall nearby. Room is clean, breakfast is good. Enquired front desk to call my next hotel in kinosaki onsen about transport. Next day the lady replied me with a note. So sweet!"
Miyako City Kintetsu Kyoto Station
"Location of the Hotel is great . The hotel is right below the Keihan Railway. Room not so big but enough for two large luggage. My negative experience was the male front staff. We are not very clear about the new property tax.and need him to explained more but he just keep quite like we are a nasty customer. But lucky he colleague come over to solved the issue."
Four Points Flex by Sheraton Kyoto Oike
"I rarely stay hotel in Japan, but this is one of the most iconic stay I had in Japan. Enjoying breakfast with Osaka Castle is a must and something ritual that I will appreciate. The breakfast variety is good, and they serve fresh omelette."

Getting to & around Kyoto
No airport in Kyoto. Fly into Kansai (KIX) or Osaka Itami (ITM) – both about 1-1.5 hours out. Kansai gets most international flights; Itami is smaller and closer (good for local flights). Take the Haruka Express train to Kyoto Station for speed, or grab a cheaper highway bus.
Late arrival? A few airport hotels near Kansai (KIX) run shuttles, but it’s worth pushing to the Kyoto Station area.

Downtown Kyoto is walkable if you stay near Kawaramachi or Gion – temples, markets, and alleys are close. Buses are super useful (get a day pass!), as subways don't cover much. Bikes work too, if you don't mind busy streets.
