Cheap Hotels in Heraklion

"The hotel has good rooms with a fantastic breakfast and decent location. We did have one major issue with a school group that ran up and down the halls all night, banging on the doors, screaming and slamming doors. We brought up this issue several times with the hotel staff and nothing was done about it. This ended up costing us a day of exploring the city because we needed to sleep when they finally stopped at 7am. There are other reviews with similar issues so I would be cautious about booking here if you don't want to have similar issues."

"Amazing hotel with great friendly staff. The breakfast was great and had a lot of variety with traditional Greek food and gluten free and organic options. It is centrally located to the old town and lots of bars and restaurants. The bus Center is near by too."

"Redelijk hotel. Ruime kamers. Moderne interieur, maar er is weinig aandacht voor de hotelgasten. Communicatie gaat over het algemeen via whatsapp. Dat is prima, maar weinig persoonlijkheid, wat we in andere hotels op kreta meer hadden. Helaas niet heel schoon. We hadden strandhanddoeken gevraagd. Speciale handdoeken voor strand hadden ze niet maar desondanks bereid om te helpen. Beperkt aantal eigen parkeerplaatsen, maar over het algemeen kun je op straat wel een plek vinden."

"Room was cosy and big with good facilities (especially the balcony), and the breakfast was the expected options but filling. One drawback would be that it took the staff a long time to clean and prepare the room, even though the end results were just ok. For example the shower gel was merely filled with water to give the appearance of it being full, rather than replacing the bottle. Maybe this was the previous occupant but the hotel could look to keep an eye on details a little closer."

The front desk staff were very kind, friendly, and always helpful — they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and assisted with everything we needed. The location is perfect, right in the centre of the city, with shops, restaurants, and attractions all within a 2–3 minute walk. The apartment was clean, modern, and very comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience — great service, amazing location, and excellent hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Heraklion!"

"Hotel location is good, close to the commercial street, to the bus terminal, the port ten minutes walk. But the front desk service level is poor, the professionalism is insufficient, especially the young lady on duty in the afternoon. We booked three rooms for 7 of us. On the first day, each room was given a door card, and each person was required to have a ticket. She repeatedly negotiated many times. She opened the topic and did not respond positively. Another lady at the front desk knew our request and made a few door cards for us. We have two family rooms, arranged the wrong room (different room types), opened the luggage, and repacked the room. We stayed for three days, the refrigerator had two bottles of bottled water (two people's room), and it was not added after cleaning. Negotiating with her, saying that it was the hotel's policy to supply free bottled water for a day, and the tenants would buy it on the first floor in the future. Talking again, she simply ignored her black face! The most outrageous thing was the last day. When we had breakfast in the morning, 3 of us took our luggage to the lobby to check out after dinner and rushed to the pier to take the boat. The men on duty at the front desk did not let their suitcases in and had to be placed outside the door (out of sight at the front desk). The three suitcases after the meal are gone! We hurried to negotiate with the man on duty, who did not know that it might have been loaded to the dock. We ran into the street and a group of people was loading the car to retrieve our luggage. This was the worst service of the four hotels we stayed in during our trip to Greece and the only one we gave a bad review."

"The room was great! The hotel is in a convenient location and the service is great. It should be the best hotel on the island? There are so many delicious things to do on Ke Island! The slow-roasted lamb is really delicious! !"

"The hotel is pretty clean and modern. We found the beds to be very comfy and the hotel's location was pretty convenient near the old town and port areas. The rooms are well appointed with a couple of chairs, a work area, a coffee/tea station, big TV and a large bathroom. There were enough plugs around the room and many switches with light settings to get it just right. We appreciated the balcony and the view outside but there were some cars that drove by with very loud music each night. The only significant complaint we had was that the bathroom shower leaked very easily in our rooms and got the floor wet near the toilet. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good with a variety of Crete foods like cheese and pastries. There was fresh scrambled eggs and a very good sausage available as well. The breakfast also had a large variety of preserved fruits that paired well with the Greek yoghurt and included oranges, cherries, grapes and figs. We appreciated that the hotel had inexpensive parking nearby at Central Parking which was 7 Euros per day with unlimited in/out privileges as long as we got a stamp when we got in. The hotel also had a restaurant that offered room service and there was a popular cafe just across the street. This hotel was a good base for exploring Crete with a convenient location near the airport and the price was very fair for us."

"Stayed for a day, and stayed late and left early, and didn't feel good. But the service, environment and hygiene are still good. If you have the opportunity, you will consider staying next time."

"The Hotel Irakion is right in the centre of te Cretan capital. Excellent position to visit all attractions, museum, Lion Square etc or to just wander around taking in the atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants nearby. An open grill opposite the hotel was perfect to get a souvlaki to take back at night and eat it on the balcony with ouzo from the small 24 hour shop opposite hotel. The hotel itself I well run, clean. Has 24 hour reception. The room offered everything needed, hot shower, toiletries, plenty of loo roll towels and a fridge. Comfy large beds. Balcony with table and chairs. They also provided a decent hot and cold buffet to suit almost all tastes. The breakfast sets you up for the day of whatever you're doing next. Enjoy Greece 🇬🇷"
