The room and shared bathroom were very clean, and the price was great. The mattress was especially comfortable. It's not ideal if you have luggage, as there are stairs to climb, and the room had a slight musty smell, but overall it was very good, and the hot water was excellent.

It was easy to find the  location, the room was in a 4 bed female room, so it was even better, bathroom and toilet is not in the room but a small basin so we can brush teeth etc. bathroom was a bit tiny as there were 2 toilets and 2 showers, but ok. The people at the reception were also very polite, check in was done easily.  Breakfast was ok, boiled eggs, toast, cheese, ham, juice, coffee, fruits, muffins, croissant, which was ok for 2 times . You can leave your bags after and before check in/out but they charge 3 pounds.

The hostel's location is excellent, right in the city center of the scenic area. However, if you're coming from the train station, it's best to take a detour, otherwise you'll have to climb many stairs, which is extremely inconvenient with luggage. The front desk insisted on online check-in and wouldn't allow manual processing. Odd-numbered beds in the 10-person dorm are upper bunks, and even-numbered ones are lower bunks. A downside is that the beds only have one USB port and one Type-C port, with no regular power outlets. I still can't quite get used to these pod-style beds; they feel too constricting and the air circulation isn't great. Plus, at over 500 a night, the value for money is just average.

Market Street Hotel is a compact but beautiful property. We had a lovely time in Edinburgh and we especially appreciate the all-inclusive daily ala carte champagne breakfast and mini bar that was replenished daily. The Nespresso machine and pods were also very handy. It's also conveniently placed across the Waverly Station and includes AC and lifts, and a stones throw from The Doric where we met some lovely new friends. Loved the mussels and Cullen Skink at the Doric - all great recommendations from Market Street Hotel super concierge, Andreas. Ciao, Andreas 🙏 Didn't take too many pictures of the room itself but the views at breakfast were stunning.

My luggage was heavy, and there were steps, but the young man at the front desk helped me carry it up without a word. The room was very clean and tidy, and there was free drinking water available on every floor, which was very convenient. The location is excellent, close to Victoria Street. A great hotel!

It was easy to find the location, next to high street(main Street in the center) the room was in a 6 bed instead of 8 beds female room, so it was even better, bathroom and toilet in the room is more convenient as you share with less people .the people at the reception were also very polite, check in was done easily. There is a kitchen in the ground floor with seating area, a bar , in the kitchen you can also cook with plates, cutlery, cooking pots, everything you need Can recommend and have booked it again! There is also breakfast but I didn't have it as I cooked my own.

When we checked in (around 2pm) we were given a card to a room. After making it upstairs we walked our 7 year old girl into an occupied room. This is a pretty big safety issue. We went back downstairs and was told ‘it’s because you checked in early, rather than a simple ‘sorry it’s a mistake’ which to be honest annoyed me. We were then told to come back after 3pm. We returned at 5pm and they had moved us to another room. In the morning because of the room change and possibly bad communication the staff said we had more money to pay in unpaid bills. This wasn’t the case but these cases definitely affected how we feel about the staff at this hotel. Passing that by now. Great location and comfy room. Bathroom is small but that’s to be expected sometimes

A Perfect Scottish Experience, Truly a Home Away from Home! My stay at The Scotsman Hotel was simply impeccable! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I could feel the rich Scottish cultural atmosphere, with elegant yet warm and inviting decor. The hotel's location is superb, offering excellent transport links and incredibly convenient access to nearby attractions. The front desk staff were exceptionally warm and professional. The check-in process was swift, and they thoughtfully provided us with recommended local sightseeing routes. Their proactive offer to help with our heavy luggage was a truly heartwarming gesture. The room was spotlessly clean and well-arranged, with incredibly comfortable bedding that ensured a fantastic night's sleep. The window soundproofing was excellent; despite being in a bustling area, the room was perfectly quiet. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and the authentic Scottish breakfast was particularly delicious, providing a great start to our day. Overall, this was an accommodation experience that far exceeded my expectations. Whether for business travel or leisure, this is an outstanding choice. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit and highly recommend it to my friends!

The hotel's location is excellent, right in a lively and convenient area. It's not far from the train station, and the walk there is quite scenic. The hotel's internal facilities are also good. Breakfast was standard and sufficient, but the à la carte items weren't particularly special. However, I did have dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the taste was quite good, with reasonable prices. Overall, I had a great stay and would choose this hotel again next time, though I hope the price could be a bit lower.

I had a wonderful stay at Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Lauriston Place). The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the room was comfortable and well-maintained. The location is perfect — very convenient and within walking distance to many attractions, restaurants, and shops. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the experience even better. The amenities provided were excellent and met all my expectations. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for solo travellers. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Edinburgh.
