Lots of noise, dust and materials all around so it was impossible to sit outside plus the pool was green from all the debris. There really should have been some notification about the work being done."

"The nicest hostel I’ve ever stayed in by far in the entire world. Super clean, modern facilities. More like a posh hotel with shared bathrooms than a backpackers. Check in is at the hotel they are owned by I think, just a few doors down from Zzzone. Your bags are transported to your room by the bell hop and they give you a welcome drink. Sea views from the deck and your own mini fridge in your room."

"Superb place to stay while exploring the Whale coast. (The only drawback is the traffic in and around Hermanus area; but this is no fault of the hotel!) We went there for our 40th wedding anniversary. Location is tops ... well everything is tops. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly! Breakfast is absolutely not to be missed. Service both at check-in and -out, AND Breakfast, was unhurried, efficient, friendly and you could just sit back and relax...what you wish for will be brought to you...! Our sea view, ground level room was really spacious, and spotlessly clean, with a glass enclosed patio , and the shower was just a blast! I thought staying so close to a rather busy (possibly noisy?) street might be not nice, but the bustle of the street is hardly noticeable. Parking off street is as safe as you might wish for. I can 100% recommend this place. I recommended this place to friends as good value!"

"Unfortunately my wife was ill and was unable to travel. I reached out to the hotel directly to explain that as my wife was having a major operation and having an unfit to travel document we would very much like to rebook at a later date . However the hotel showed no empathy or sympathy and refused our request . Money is there only consideration putting their own financial gain and profit before a woman undergoing cancer treatment! I will add the only hotel along the garden route that has shown such a shameful attitude. Way goes around comes around !"

"We loved our stay here, the house is really pretty and traditional, very nicely furnished and very clean. Our bedroom had French doors onto the terrace that wraps around the house and overlooked tropical gardens and a golf course with mountains to the side and behind. The service was amazing, we even found that our car had been washed before we left! Breakfast was beautiful, cooked to order and a beautiful setting. Hermanus itself was lovely and felt very quaint and safe with a stunning cliff walk. The house has secure gates but we walked from the house to the beach and path and enjoyed the walk. We would definitely return"

"Had 4 nights at west Coast Ocean Villa and apart from some building work going on next door it was faultless. Lovely room, beautiful host Aurelia was a joy every morning, overseeing the excellent breakfast service, and always offering conversation and local advice with a warm smile. A short stroll to the local beach and the Ocean Coastal path makes the location perfect albeit slightly out of Hermanus, a bonus for some. Contemplating a return visit soon!"
