"I have to complain about the pace and efficiency in Australia. If your hotel check-in time is later than 5 PM, you need to email them a day in advance. The front desk closes early. Our flight was delayed due to weather, and when we called the hotel, we were told my reservation was cancelled. Ctrip tried to communicate, but they just told me to call the hotel myself. Check-out is before 10 AM, and no later than 11 AM. I booked two consecutive weeks and changed room types once in between. The short, Asian front desk staff member was quite easy to talk to. She even helped me move my luggage to the new room. The hotel's location is excellent. Turn left when you exit, and you're on Swanston St., a main road. The tram stop is right at the corner, with 8 tram lines stopping there, making it very convenient to get to the city. From the hotel, walking in any direction (north, south, east, west) to places like the Royal Exhibition Building, Queen Victoria Market, State Library, or the University of Melbourne all take about ten minutes. If your activity radius isn't too large, you might not even need to buy a Myki transport card. Walking south one stop past RMIT takes you into the tram free zone. Since it's an apartment-style hotel, everyone cooks for themselves, and the hotel doesn't offer catering services. However, the breakfast restaurant downstairs at the nearby ARROW apartment hotel has good food. 100 meters to the east is Melbourne's very popular Lygon St. Italian precinct, offering many food choices with prices to suit all budgets."

"Clean and tidy, and quiet. This is my second time staying here, it's near the University of Melbourne. The front desk staff were polite and gentle, and promptly helped resolve any issues. My stay was very pleasant. I will book again next time."

"Room was exactly as described and with Cooktop, microwave, and fridge did not need take out all the time. Staff at front desk were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. May not be the flashiest hotel but it is great value for money and in a great location with a tram stop right outside the front doors, would recommend this hotel."

It made exploring Melbourne simple and enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Zagame’s House and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne. The front desk staff were very professional and friendly. The rooms are well-equipped and apartment-style, making them perfect for family trips."

"The Elgin Carlton Studios was small but perfect for a single or a couple for a few nights. Well located near to many restaurants with an enjoyable walk through parks to zoo precinct and easy tram return. Hot water wasn’t available but I’m sure the helpful team at the studios jumped onto that."
