"Staying at the Parkgate Hotel was an excellent experience, I have stayed at other hotels in Cardiff City Centre before and previously always been a bit disappointed, however this hotel is classy right from the moment you walk through the doors. Check-in was very smooth. The room beautifully clean and well appointed with all of the things that you require. The breakfast was excellent and checkout was very smooth. Can’t rate this hotel highly enough, well done!"

"I had asked if I could store my luggage a couple of hours before checking in. I cannot recall getting a confirmation of this, which would have notified me that there would be a charge of £5, which the receptionist informed me of when I arrived. Had I have known I would have made other arrangements and not wasted the journey and been inconvenienced. When I arrived a guest was complaining about how warm the rooms were and that the fans provided due nothing and that it was a possible health threat. I pointed out that there was a note on my booking about air conditioning being out of action or words to that effect but in theory, why is this not pointed out before the booking is made? It seems like you want the money and then expect us to jump though the hoops of trying to get a refund from the hotel and washing your hands of the situation as I found when I rang Trip.com - it should be a human right to have decent ventilation but with the hurdles you set in motion, it might be seen that you rely on people giving in and giving up to getting a refund on those grounds and so I did you a favour and stuck with it, fearing the worse for when I checked in later that evening. It could have been a lot better and it could have been worse. The general toilet and area on floor 2 was disgusting and had no toilet paper and seemed not to have been monitored regularly, when I went to use it after checking out. I’m amazed that there is a higher price tag shown to show the saving  on these rooms, in my estimation the lower price I paid should have been the higher price. The standards were so much better when it was The Big Sleep Hotel. *************"

"I had a very good experience staying at Hilton Cardiff. The hotel felt extremely safe and well managed throughout my stay. One thing I noticed is that they are very strict about not allowing visitors after 9 PM. At first, it was a bit disappointing, but honestly, it also made me feel much safer knowing they take security seriously. The service was excellent from beginning to end. The staff were always kind, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed, which made the whole experience feel very welcoming. My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It was also cleaned during my stay, which I really appreciated and added to the overall comfort. The location is another big advantage the hotel is just steps away from Cardiff Castle, making it perfect for exploring the city. It’s also only about a 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central railway station, which made getting there and around very convenient. One morning I decided to try the breakfast buffet, and it was definitely worth it. There were many options to choose from, including pastries, hot food, fruit, and drinks. They also had coffee machines with very good coffee, which made the breakfast experience even better. Another highlight was the bar downstairs it had a great atmosphere and was a really nice place to relax after a day of exploring. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cardiff, especially if you value comfort, excellent service, a great location, and above all, feeling safe during your stay."

"Hotel was lovely, great location really great staff. Restaurant was fabulous as was the Browns bar & staff. Unfortunately our aircon was ineffective and when reported to reception no engineers to review/fix and we ended up with 2 small fans in the room 🥺🥺. Safe to say our sleep was awful, the room was so hot and stuffy reaching temperatures in excess of 29 degrees (air con was set to 18). It would have been more cooler to sleep in the corridor 😟😟😟. So whilst this hotel was beautiful this issue certainly affected the quality of our stay."

"The building is old-fashioned due to its long history, but the interior is very clean and well-maintained. It's run by a couple who are very kind, friendly, and easy to communicate with – a really great experience. The location is also excellent, right in the city center, and it's quiet at night."

"Last minute decision to stay over in Cardiff and this is in an ideal location and reasonable price. Staff at reception/bar couldn't have been more helpful when I struggled with the check in units! Room was fine, quiet & with everything I needed. Sunday night but restaurant was still open so had lovely meal there & breakfast the next morning always a cracker. Note their deal if you're having both by the way."
