"Lovely hotel in the middle of Hakuba. Location is a little secluded and without a car, it takes some effort to get to the city or around. We were happy to stay and chill at the hotel though. Opted for half board (Dinner provided) Super convenient with the ski rental on site, and shuttle buses to ski resorts provided.
Onsen: newly refurbished and amazing!
Breakfast and Dinner : was pleasantly surprised by the dinner provided it was a 6 course dinner Jap-French inspired. Had lovely meals every evening.
In house ski rental : it’s good that there is one onsite. However the service was less than desirable.
Rented a snowboard and requested for regular stance, the young guy provided a goofy stance set up.
I only noticed the next day, after bringing it back - and the same young guy was not at the shop. Approached the concierge where the staff then very impatient and frustratingly fixed it for me..
Transport to the ski resort: asked the staff to help book us a taxi to get to Nagano station when we were leaving the next day. Their taxi company was full so they said they couldn’t do anything. We then asked for alternatives, the concierge suggested a shuttle bus to Nagano station, but shortly after said it was not possible as the hotel shuttle didn’t start that early. The staff just seemed abit unwilling to help, and also unclear about how guests leave the hotel. To future travellers; Prepare beforehand - book a taxi / bus in advance and don’t expect the hotel to help"

"The hotel's dining is definitely a highlight, especially dinner, which rivals some Michelin-starred restaurants, featuring a generous use of local ingredients. The afternoon tea popcorn and jam cheese were also delicious, and there's a free flow of red wine, white wine, sake, and various teas.
I also recommend booking the silk bath early; having it to myself for nearly an hour was fantastic.
The hotel's location is also good, not far from Mu Pond Ski Resort, making transportation convenient.
What's worth complaining about is the service, which was genuinely subpar. There aren't many English-speaking staff, and communicating with some of the older female front desk staff felt difficult. Plus, the rooms aren't properly cleaned; the toilet and vanity aren't wiped down. They just make the bed and change some towels.
The hotel is a little old, and the facilities are just okay."

"The meals in the evening and in the morning were delicious! I went in the middle of summer, but it was so cool and comfortable that I was able to sleep with the windows open at night without turning on the air conditioner. I was a little worried about the unisex toilets on the second floor, but the toilets on the first floor were separated for men and women, so I used the one on the first floor.
The owner was also very kind, and after checking out, he drove me to the nearest station. This was very helpful as I had a lot of luggage. The price was also reasonable, so I was very satisfied. I would like to use this hotel again on my next summer trip to Nagano."

"Spacious, clean and well furnished. Team of staff was very helpful and took good care of guests. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle bus to Hakuba 47 and happo one which was really convenient. They also do transfers to hakuba JR station and bus station. It’s nearby to the other public shuttle bus stops to get to other ski resorts."

"This trip to White Horse stayed in three hotels, run by Japanese, and European and American. This home is the most satisfying.
First of all, the hotel chosen by the Japanese in Hakuba must be better than the Europeans. No matter the cleanliness of the hotel or the enthusiasm of the boss.
This old Japanese couple has been running a homestay for over 30 years.
At first glance, the boss has accumulated many years. The homestay occupies two single-family villas, and the boss owns a bus! The two of us sat on the exclusive bus to enjoy the pick-up and drop-off service. My chin was frightened. I never came to Baima to see the hotel's own bus.
The location is great. Five minutes walk from base camp, one of Hakuba's core bus stops. If you go to Wuxi 47, it will be more convenient.
Besides the room. It is very large and has its own separate toilet (including bathroom), which is not available in many Japanese-style hotels. The only shortcoming of the room was the two of us, but there were only two single beds and no large bed. A new family room was given to us when I checked in. It was also three single beds, so maybe there is no double room?
The room we booked did not include meals. The breakfast was 600 yen per person. We thought it was not expensive and we tried it. Em, there was only one slice of toast and unlimited coffee milk cereal, which was too monotonous and not worth trying. It is better to go out a few hundred meters to buy breakfast near base camp.
Finally the owner is very enthusiastic (this is the advantage of all Japanese homestays). There are local apples for sale at the front desk. The price of 100 is a conscience. I stayed for 3 nights and ate 5 apples. It was very sweet."

"The price of the snow season is quite expensive. The big bed room is 5000+, and the Gaza hair bed is more than 300. This hotel is marked with four stars, but the Google search is marked with Samsung. Not run by locals in Japan, the sanitary environment is really average, the big bathing venue is sticky, there are floating hair in the pool, and the towels are thrown everywhere. The carpet used in the room, but the vacuum is not thorough, and the dust allergy has to wear a mask, and the purifier can be comfortable. Breakfast is all European, there is no Japanese soup or the like, cold food. I wanted to use a dryer, but as soon as I entered the socks, the dryer was full of black hair. The pick-up day was also promised 15 minutes, but I waited for 30 minutes. I called again and said that there were other things on the road. Not recommended, if you want to come to Baima, it is recommended to book other hotels."

From the moment we arrived, the caretaker's service was truly exceptional. They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Their warmth and professionalism made a huge difference.
The house itself was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained. It was clear that great care is taken to ensure the comfort and hygiene of the guests.
As a whole-house rental with three spacious bedrooms, it was perfectly suited for our family. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax comfortably.
One of the major conveniences was the fully equipped kitchen. It had every single cooking utensil and appliance we could possibly need, which made preparing meals for the family easy and enjoyable.

We had an excellent experience at Garden Pension Obogurgl. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Hakuba Goryu lifts, which made getting on the mountain super easy every day. The pension itself is cozy, clean, and peaceful, with a lovely garden that adds to the charm.
Our room was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for ski gear, and the communal areas had a relaxed, homely vibe. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with local tips and transport advice.
We especially enjoyed being able to walk everywhere—whether it was to the nearby convenience stores, local restaurants, or just strolling among the beautiful pine trees. The large cherry blossom tree out the front added a special touch to the peaceful surroundings. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and welcoming place to stay in Hakuba Goryu, Garden Pension Obogurgl is a fantastic choice.

PPunziizThis hotel is beyond my imagination. OMG ! The place was so amazing I chose Chalet with my family member 8 persons. They really in love with the place and all speak the same that we will definitely come back again ! The owner has a service to bring you to the supermarket at 4 pm everyday. That's awesome we can do cooking and enjoy precious meals with our family. There are not many houses here so it is the best option for anyone who looking for the cozy places and can also enjoy the wonderful snowy view. Thank you Ms. Hana to take care of us along the stay ! :)))

MMeowVanWhat an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

RRaeMeteor Garden is located conveniently 5-7min drive from main Hakuba Village. One thing to note is that the main cafe in the stay is not open so need to find other dining alternatives. Rooms and amenities are clean and well maintained, the one issue is that it’s not well marked on Google map as it keeps pointing to the restaurant which was not opened and gave us a false alarm. Wifi is not the fastest and does not handle multiple devices that well especially when you are trying to work. There was some confusion when booked via Trip as the contact information was somehow truncated so hotel was unable to contact me without going through Trip thus messages were delayed. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and everyone had a great time…

GGuest UserOur stay at Wakata Hakuba Lodge was truly wonderful from the moment we arrived until check-out.
We arrived early, together with another couple who were also waiting for their room. Mr. Lu warmly welcomed us and provided plenty of helpful information about the area. As we had time before check-in, he kindly offered to drive us out so we could have lunch and explore the surrounding shops and cafés. This thoughtful gesture immediately made us feel well taken care of.
We had the hotpot dinner during our stay, and it was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we even ordered extra chicken! It was a very satisfying and comforting meal.
Unfortunately, our train departure was very early, so we were unable to try their Japanese breakfast as it is served at a fixed time. However, the kindness did not stop there. The driver who sent us to the station noticed that we had not had breakfast. Since we were leaving early, he kindly contacted the kitchen to prepare some toast for us to take along. We were deeply touched by this considerate gesture.
