"Positives: - Very close to the station - Modern hotel and modern room - Plenty of room space - Polite and friendly staff - Large bed Negatives: - Bathroom seems ”forgotten about” - Rest of hotel is spacious and modern. But the bathroom was tiny with very little space and felt out of place with the rest of the hotel. Bath was very narrow and small Overall: Very good location and modern hotel. Bathroom just stopped it from getting perfect score"

"Was given a room with 2 single beds. When I checked with the reception, they said their level 10 was under renovation and that my booking doesn't give me a choice. This is the first time I was told I don't have a choice to the bed configuration. Rooms are not sound proof. We could hear voices from next room.  Room is spacious by Japanese standard, and location is good, near to Bandai Pier and fashion shopping. We could walk to the train station in 10 minutes.  Enjoyed our stay."

"This is the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at in Japan. The breakfast was also very nice, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The location is excellent, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The underground parking is a good bonus too. There was a lovely and very enthusiastic grandma at breakfast. I love everything about this hotel, and if I ever have the chance to visit again, I would definitely choose to stay here. I love Niigata, such a charming place."

"Everything was smooth and pleasant from check-in to check-out. The only minor issue was that the air conditioning couldn’t be switched to cooling, as the hotel uses a central HVAC system that provides heating during the autumn season. Since the windows couldn’t be opened to let in cool air, the room felt a bit warm at times. Other than that, everything else was comfortable and enjoyable."

"Best location, which is near to Niigata JR Train station (with lots of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets & convi stores). Room is clean & spacious with affortable price, will conside to stay at the same hotel if return to Niigata again."

"Check in and out is fast. Being part of JR Train Group gave it immediate accessibility in same building in 2 to 4 minutes. Hotel lobby 3rd floor is same floor with JR entrance. Besides Seven Eleven store and about 40 meters distance walking to Yoshinoya. Many food shops around South ,West,East entrance. Bic Camera just across street. Room is ok with bath separated from toilet."

"I misplaced my gloves some where at a town I was visiting. The hotel staff were very helpful to help me call these places that I visited to check if they can find my gloves. Despite the language barrier, they were very proactive in their assistance and help. I cannot help but feel the famous Japanese hospitality from their services. They have an in house restaurant that served local dishes that you must try in Niigata, their service were also very polite and welcoming. I felt extremely comfortable with my stay in the hotel because of their attention to service."

"・Parking is available at the multi-storey car park opposite, where you can issue a commuter pass and pay in advance for your stay, which allows unlimited entry and exit. ・Breakfast is buffet style, which was great for me as I have dietary restrictions as I could choose only the items I could eat and eat small amounts. ・There is a large public bath, which is great, although there is a time limit. ・There are many restaurants nearby where you can eat local seafood, so I felt that Basho was in a great location for people who want to enjoy a meal. ・There are souvenir shops and the local arcade shopping street right in front of the hotel, so you can purchase souvenirs such as agricultural products, seafood, and sasamochi. ・There is a roadside station 5km away within the prefecture, so you can purchase crabs and other items there and have them delivered to your home. ・The Wi-Fi security was also fine, and the security software did not indicate any risk."

"I stayed in a standard semi-double room with a room-only plan that was on sale due to the live performance at Toki Messe. It was conveniently located within walking distance of Toki Messe. There was a convenience store and post office nearby, and a short walk away there were a few restaurants, so I had no trouble finding food even though I checked in late. I didn't have much opportunity to interact with the staff as I didn't use the restaurant, but the room was very clean and had all the necessary amenities."
