"Everything was great! The bathroom was quite unusual, molded from a single piece of plastic. Just make sure you don't miss breakfast, otherwise, finding food afterward can be a real challenge. You'll end up relying on ready-made meals from the store, as all the eateries on the island seem to operate on the same schedule and close during the day."

"A hidden paradise. A wonderful place to recharge, with few people, private beach access, breakfast and dinner included in the price, and a buffet with a good selection of dishes, including seafood. The rooms are simple, but the beautiful nature and views make up for it. A great option for a 2-3 night stay. There's a mini-market, laundry facilities, umbrella and sun lounger rentals, and electric bikes available. A shuttle service is available to the port and the nearby beach. In mid-April, the water temperature was already 24°C (74°F), the air temperature was 28°C (80°F), with a chance of rain, but I was lucky and had sunshine all four days, with a high UV index (up to 11°C). The beach is clean, with easy entry into the water. Even in the swimming area, you can see wildlife (mostly fish). Beyond this area, you can swim with a life jacket, where you might even spot turtles; be sure to bring a snorkel mask. You can book diving with an instructor in advance. I'd especially like to mention the friendly staff, who make my stay as comfortable as possible."

"The hotel is in a great location just minutes walk from two spectacular beaches and a few nearby restaurant/izakaya options within easy walking distance. They provided a useful map of the area with recommended places for food. The hotel includes the option of a pleasant Japanese or Western set breakfast with 3 given time options and dinner included 2 time options. Both options were very tasty. Unfortunately the coffee was not great and a second cup of sub-par coffee at breakfast is charged extra. The 5 course dinners were very enjoyable, particularly the antipasto and soups. The evening meals were quite light despite the multi-course menu, which varied for each of my 5 nights. They accommodated my pescetarian diet which I informed them of in advance. The room was quite spacious for Japan, with a very comfortable bed, and the bathroom was modern and clean. I appreciated the small 7 room size and child-free policy of the hotel. The rooms are on the second floor via stairs (no elevator, so not accessible for everyone). Free self-laundry is available, which was useful. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, without being obtrusive. The hotel is affiliated with a specialist snorkel/diving instructor with expert insight and my snorkelling tour was a real highlight. It looks like it's the best hotel option on Tokashiki and I will happily stay here again without hesitation. Overall a very relaxing retreat on a stunning island."

"I stayed at Hotel Kanaloa last year and it was great. The hotel staff are friendly, there is a shuttle to the beaches and a restaurant you can eat at. This year our stay was complicated by bed bugs which is probably not the hotels fault it may have been spread by a former guest; however we did have to convince the staff to get us another room in the middle of the night when we were bitten and found several of them. This was our first experience with bed bugs and we were really traumatized. We were disappointed that we had to convince the staff to let us wash all of our clothes for free since we didn’t want to spread them to the new room or risk carrying them with us. We weren’t given any additional services or refunds beyond that which is disappointing."

"The place is very beautiful! Important to notice that the road to beaches (shops and cafes) is very difficult for not prepared people. It took us about 25-35 min to take to Tokashiku beach. Better to rent car or motobike or be prepared for a long walk. The host was super nice, and assisted us in all questions. The house is not the new one and have some not very fresh staff, but we were ok with that. Before booking you should remember that it is a country house not hotel and you will be happy. Also it is located not far from view point"
