"The hotel is a bit far from the station, about a 13-minute walk. There aren't many shops along the way. The only stores near the train station are Lawson and FamilyMart. The accommodation is cheaper than in Kyoto. Booking closer to your travel dates will be cheaper. It would be even better if there were large shopping malls like Aeon nearby. The biggest advantage is that it's cheaper than Kinosaki Onsen. The rooms are spacious enough to fully open your suitcase."

"This Hotel is a little bit far off and mainly for winter skiing. There is no restaurant in the Hotel and also in surrounding area. On the other hand, the Hotel is clean and Hotel staff is very friendly."

"Service quality of the staffs are 10/10. All staffs are attentive and multi tasking, they are reception, cooks (breakfast) concierge and house keeping. We stayed for two nights in a quadruple room facing the river, huge size and comfortable beds. Night was quiet and dont hear any foot steps though it is a building erected on old structure. Breakfast is typical Japanese ryokan style breakfast of excellent presentation and quality. Recommended for couples with no children and nit suitable for elderly or disabled, need to climb up 3 storeys if stayingnin the 3rd flood. Location is 10/10, 10mins by foot to JR station and 20 mins walk to the ropeway with shops along the way. Highly recommended!"

"It is a cost-effective youth travel in Chengqi Hot Spring Town. The hot spring town is relatively small and it is almost the same everywhere.
The room is in the form of tatami and you have to make your own bed. On the day of my stay, there were two people in the room plus me, and the roommate was quiet and very good.
There is no floor heating in the public area of the hotel, which is cold. There are two toilets and two sinks. When I used it, I happened to not meet people and didn't have to line up. If you take a bath, there is one room on the first floor. Because I went to the public hot spring to wash, I didn't use it. There is also a kitchenette on the first floor, which can be simple hot rice balls or something."

"Superb hotel, the scenery outside the window is beautiful, we live in a 5-person room, the room is very large. When I arrived at the station, the staff asked the hotel name, and then called the hotel to pick up the car. There was a special car service to the hot springs for the next two days. When you eat local specialty pine leaf crabs in winter, remember to add money to the hotel's full crab banquet. It's great. You have to make an appointment in advance. ～"

"The hotel is located on the edge of the hot spring town, quite close to Jizoyu Bath.
We booked a superior Japanese-Western style room, which was exceptionally spacious.
The hotel's breakfast and dinner were very plentiful, and the staff at the front desk were very welcoming. Since the mountain cable car to Kinosaki Onsen was closed on the second morning of our stay, we could only visit the nearby Izuishi Castle Town. The hotel front desk helped us print out a detailed timetable.
The outdoor baths at Kinosaki Onsen are not open every day; two baths are closed each day, so be sure to check the sign at the hotel front desk."

"Nice, modern and new hotel in Kinosaki onsen with great hospitality from the hotel owner and his staff. I was welcomed by the owner at the door when I arrived, and they even prepared a beautiful greeting card on my arrival. Welcome drink was provided and the owner recommended good restaurants and provided the USP of each onsen in Kinosaki. The room is spacious, clean and new! I especially like the Japanese style of the hotel. Yutaka and 1-day onsen pass were provided for my stay. As the next day I had to move to another hotel, the owner very kindly helped me to transport my luggage to another hotel near the JR station.
Overall, excellent stay, excellent people and excellent breakfast! :)
Would love to visit Kinosaki onsen again and stay with Utsuroi Tsuchiya."

* The room was clean and looked exactly like the photos.
* Wi-Fi was available.
* Check-in was smooth.
* Rental service for boots and umbrellas was provided.
* Came with tickets for touring Kinosaki Onsen, and the room had a convenient onsen set for taking out.
* There are private baths within the building.
Cons:
* The room felt a bit old.
* At night, hotel staff were loudly arguing outside the annex, which left a bad impression.
Location/Surroundings:
* About a 10-minute walk from the station. It felt a bit of a walk, but being in the center of the onsen town made access to all hot springs excellent.

* Friendly and good service.
Summary:
Considering the price and location, it was good. However, it's not somewhere I'd definitely want to stay again, but rather I'd be interested in trying other ryokans next time.

GGuest UserAn old hot spring hotel, a little inside, but very quiet. There is also a 10% discount for snow crabs at the door, which can be packaged and delivered.
I have to praise the crab dinner of the hotel, which is of very high standard, even the desserts are online. I was very full, but because it was so delicious, I finally finished the rice and pasta. The wine and drinks are also very cost-effective. It is worth staying once during the snow crab season. There are several hot springs, which can be reserved and can be visited at leisure. There are also private and public hot springs. It is very comfortable to relax in a hot spring.

GGuest UserThis is a lovely place to stay, a little bit away from the Kinosaki Walking Street, but not too far, an easy walk. It's also close to the Kinosaki Ropeway. The onsen at the hotel is beautiful, and you also get free passes to the public onsens in Kinosaki.

MMari(Marina)Excellent traditional-style pekan. I loved the service, cleanliness, convenient location, and spacious room. It was the best vacation in a long time! All the public onsen, shops, and cafes are nearby. The girl at dinner and breakfast was very attentive, explaining everything in detail, asking for clarification, and the service was beyond praise! We would be happy to return and would recommend it.

The service is attentive and polite. Basically all of them speak Japanese. There are English-speaking waiters, so communication is not a problem. The several private baths are well-equipped and clean. There is free water and ice bars in the rest area.
We provide beautiful yukatas for wearing outside.
One night, two meals, dinner and breakfast are above standard.

LLivyC75The ryokan style rooms were a lovely touch. The inclusive dinner came with so many courses that we were absolutely stuffed every single night and the fact that a member of staff helps explain all the dishes and prepares them in front of us felt like a real lovely touch of authenticity and luxury. There are no individual bathrooms in the rooms aside from a sink and toilet but the hotel Onsen is easy to access and comfortable to use. The staff also make the bed after dinner every night and anytime we had questions for reception, they were always happy to help, especially with train station transfer and recommendations and vouchers for different restaurants in town. The hotel rooms have a great view of the mountains as it is slightly off the main road. I would definitely recommend this for couples traveling.

GGuest UserExcellent river. Meeted immediately from the entrance, issued the key and pass to the Onsens. Make copies of the passport and immediately carried to the room. Poured tea and offered sweet cookies. Did yucats. View was on the central street with the river. Onsen in the river is small but it 's not a problem, as there 's a pass to all the Onsen villages.
The dinner of the kaiseki was delicious, served the crab and the sashimi.
While we were at dinner we were folded up footons.
A stunning river, we will try to come here again.

PPiwatUpon arrival, the hotel gave us 2 free tickets for aquarium next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with parking valet and our luggage. The room we were in had an amazing view and it is spacious. It’s a Japanese style room and the staff had to come to put out futon for us around dinner time. Communal bath is big with an outdoor onsen. We noticed that they use salt water in the bath and onsen instead of chlorinated water like many other onsen hotel we have stayed in the past. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel but they open rather late at 7 and 8 pm so we didn’t get to try them. Breakfast were the same the whole we stay but they are pretty decent so there is no complaints. I would consider this to be one of the best hotel we have stayed during our trip there.

Ttravel-with-meWe had a fantastic stay at this Ryokan. The staff were so attentive and welcoming (Thanks to our room attendant, Suzan) We arrived a little earlier than check in but we could go up to the room and were provided with tea. The room was beautiful and the beds were prepared when we were eating dinner. We were shown how to wear the yukata and even had welly boots for the rainy weather. The food was the highlight, fresh seasonal ingredients (crab!) which was displayed like a piece of art. I wish we stayed longer, well worth the money!

If you have time, you can walk across the river to the coast near Takeno Kyoka Village, where the scenery is equally beautiful yet remarkably uncrowded, allowing you to quietly enjoy the views. It's conveniently located just one JR stop (10 minutes) from Kinosaki Onsen, yet few Chinese tourists venture here. You'll occasionally spot some European and American tourists on the streets, along the beach, or at the hotel. The hotel service is excellent, with a shuttle bus to and from Takeno Station. The hotel also has its own onsen bath, where you can relax and listen to the waves. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are outstanding, especially the all-crab dinner – the incredibly fresh and delicious Kazumi crab is irresistible and incredibly satisfying. I highly recommend staying at the Oku Kinosaki Seaside Hotel when visiting Takeno.
