The room is large, with a courtyard, and a little bit of a Maldivian feel, but no hair dryer was found. The food is good, the taste is OK, the ingredients are fresh, and it is slightly more expensive than other nearby restaurants. The service is still quite enthusiastic, especially the on-demand food service staff for breakfast, who are very enthusiastic and proactively ask if there are any dishes that need to be ordered. Proactive service is precious and feels very good. However, the front desk service is perfunctory, seemingly enthusiastic but not solving the problem. After waiting for a long time, no one took the initiative to tell us that we can check in. We went to the front desk to ask, and a few chatty waitresses smiled and said that it was ok now. When we left, we missed the boat because the front desk arranged to wait for the water taxi. Obviously, we were very anxious and asked many times, but the front desk told us that there was no problem. The boat is often late. I asked them to call the shipping company to inform us that we have not boarded the boat yet, and I guess there was no communication. I was speechless. The service to customers should not be just superficial enthusiasm. I hope to really solve problems for guests instead of creating problems.

Guest UserOur stay at Marriott Perhentian exceeded every expectation once again. This was our third visit in less than 12 months, and each time the experience has been even better than the last.
, with crystal-clear water, pristine beaches, multiple swimming pools and incredible views in every direction. The resort itself is beautifully designed, perfectly blending luxury with the natural beauty of the island.
What truly makes this place exceptional is its people. Every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help at every opportunity made all the difference. Special thanks to Faizal and zafirah our host.
The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The food was consistently excellent, offering great variety and outstanding quality. With 3 restaurant to chose from, Sekoci for fine dining and day time pizzas and quick bites, Dapur for breakfast and dinner with wide selection of delicious local and international food.
A special thank you to the entire Marriott Perhentian team for creating such memorable experiences. It is rare to find a place where every aspect of hospitality is delivered with such passion, consistency, and genuine care.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Marriott Perhentian to anyone looking for an exceptional island getaway. Returning three times in less than a year speaks for itself, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Although the food selection was limited, the taste was good. The hotel's location was relatively secluded, making it suitable for travelers who prefer quiet. When we first entered the room, we were struck by the strong smell of paint. The staff said it was from freshly painted rooms, but the smell made us feel dizzy and nauseous. We asked to change rooms, but the other rooms also had a strong smell. The pillows looked clean, but they were full of mold. There were many ants in the room, everywhere. I slept in one night and got several bites.

Little EEThe hotel is conveniently located near the jetty, making it very easy to travel around. There is also a dive center right downstairs, which is perfect for divers. Breakfast is included and offers a wide variety of choices.
The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and the overall cleanliness exceeded our expectations. However, the air conditioning was a major issue. We booked several rooms, and all of them experienced problems with the air conditioning. Additionally, the swimming pool is noticeably smaller than it appears in the photos.
Overall, the location, cleanliness, and convenience are great, but the air conditioning definitely needs improvement.

Solo miPerhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian Island)
Perhentian Island, located on the east coast of Malaysia in Terengganu state, immediately brings to mind images of beaches, the sea, sunshine, and diving.
Bubu Resort is conveniently situated next to the jetty at Long Beach on Perhentian Kecil, offering views of Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian Island) and stunning sunrises. The area under the jetty is also a great spot for snorkeling.
During holidays, many locals bring their children here to play in the water. It's a paradise for Western tourists and a haven for diving enthusiasts.
Getting there:
You can take an overnight bus from TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) to Kuala Besut bus station. From there, it's just a 10-minute walk to the jetty. You can book your boat tickets online or purchase them at the counter.
Additionally, there's a jetty entrance fee of RM2 and a marine park conservation fee (RM30 for foreigners vs. RM5 for locals).
Layover:
The last boat departs the island at 4:00 PM. If you need a place to rest while waiting for an evening bus or flight, you can book a room near the Kuala Besut jetty or bus station. As it's a small town, it's advisable to book your layover accommodation in advance, especially during peak season. Sani Bus offers rooms for rent for 3 hours, as shown in the picture below.

Guest UserWe were very delighted at the ease of bookings for our stay, speedboat transfers, scuba diving and snorkelling trips. The moment we arrived at Besut Jetty, they had their team to facilitate parking of our car and efficiently got us on the speedboat as it was raining earlier and might rain again in the afternoon.
By the time we arrived and checked in, our rooms were ready, cleaned and smelled fresh too contrary with all the reviews Iโve read recently especially when it comes to peak season. All the amenities were there and functional. Even my city kids were impressed as theyโve stayed at other island resorts before.
The ambience at night was very lively at the restaurant, friendly flying lemurs and squirrels, tasty variety dishes from the restaurant, fire show, swings by the beach.
The recreational centre such as the kayak, snorkelling and scuba diving can be better for the premium rate that they are charging. Warning: check every calculation carefully as they have this NO REFUND policy.
I would suggest for rental of games to make family holidays more fun on days when it is raining.

Federig_98We spent four days on these heavenly islands, staying at Villamas, a lovely property with a breathtaking sea view. The private beach with sun loungers and deck chairs was truly relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend this property for those looking to relax. You can also take a taxi boat and explore the other sides of the island. Coral Bay is great for sunsets, while Long Beach is great for beach restaurants and music. There wasn't much choice in terms of food, but it was all delicious.

Guest UserA charming hotel that has clearly seen better days. They probably didn't spare any expense on marketing โ good promotional videos, a beautiful logo (luxurious by local standards), and consistent brand colors throughout. But something's off with the management... The receptionists are completely indifferent; you can't get an extra word out of them, and they don't explain anything properly. The icing on the cake โ breakfast!!! There's absolutely nothing to eat!!! Muesli, noodles that inexplicably weren't there and no one was in a hurry to bring them, white rice, and beans in a brown sauce. Two croissants that were gone before I even saw them. No omelets, no sausages, no meat of any kind. Believe me, I'm not being picky... And of course, the beach. If you walk a little away from the hotel (too many boats), you'll find some decent sand, but at low tide, it's too shallow, and the seabed is quite unpleasant.

The family visited Perhentian Island and stayed at the Sharilela Hotel for 4 days. In the end, they didn't want to leave. The room after the change was relatively clean. The hotel hardware facilities were complete, the environment was particularly good, the breakfast was rich and delicious, and it was very pleasant to enjoy it in the blue sea and blue sky. The service was good, praise ๐๐ป

Nice place to pit stop on your way to Perhentian Islands. Easy access to good food at the mamak restaurant 2 doors away. And nice Chinese food adjacent to the hotel. All are reasonably priced.
Hotel is clean by most standards. Basic amenities provided like hangers, free wifi, towels, blankets. We took a big family room for 4 pax and slept comfortably.
