This is our guest house. It is very nicely appointed with hardwood cabinets, tile and hardwood floors, and professional grade appliances. The lower level has an open living/dining area with a fully equipped galley kitchen. Large dining table. Patio doors with view of the lake. There is a full bath down. One bedroom with one queen and one full bed. Upstairs is queen bed with sitting area, and small bedroom with queen bed. Bath up is shower/toilet only. This house sits on owner's homestead with a spectacular view of the Apostle Islands from a high bank. Access the large permanent pier by stairs (about 125) or by electric tram to shore end of dock. There is a swim ladder if you care to venture into the cold, clear waters of Lake Superior. Many guests do, and describe the experience as "spiritual". The dock sits at the south end of Hidden Beach, which is accessible only to residents of the local development. Most of the time you will have the beach to yourself. Enjoy watching the fishing and sailboats heading towards anchorages at Stockton Island. Welcome to The Moss Creek Cabin! This chalet style home is a beautiful, sunny base for all of your island adventures and kicking back to relax in the woods. There is a large deck and a screen porch to lounge and hear all of the wildlife noises. You will be just 2 miles outside of town - far enough to be in nature - but also easy to get around, including walking and biking everywhere. The cabin is on 5 acres of private woods, so you will have plenty of space!Sleeping Arrangements:The master bedroom is upstairs and has a queen bed and a full bed that is fashioned as a daybed, when not in use. This room sleeps 4.There are two bedrooms downstairs. The larger downstair bedroom has 2 queen beds to sleep 4 comfortably. The other downstairs room sleeps 2 with a queen bed and have an office setup with a desk. There is a daybed on the screen porch with a trundle - so weather permitting, up to 2 people can also sleep out there. That brings the sleeping area up to 12 people, but we keep it to 10 in the listing, so that you don't necessarily have to be sardines or sleep on the screen porch if the weather is exciting. If someone wants more privacy in a large group or a rustic experience we have an easy pop up tent that sleeps 4 that we would be happy to set up for you in the yard. Just let us know when you make the reservation!Porch:The porch looks out into the forest and a small creek. We have outdoor lights, patio furniture for a large group to sit comfortably and umbrella for lounging in the shade.Fire Stuff:We have a nice big fire pit in the yard and an indoor wood stove for use in the colder months. We will leave you with wood to enjoy. *Please, please do not bring any wood with you from off the island* There are tree diseases that we don't have here on the island, or are we don't have very bad yet, and we want to keep the forest safe. Sorry for this little PSA! We will supply you with wood and if you run out we have on island resources for you to gather wood from... including gathering fallen wood from the property!Kitchen:There is a whole kitchen setup here to bake, cook, whatever! This is our family cabin, so we have a lot of the kitchen stuff to live life. An oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, bean grinder, toaster, wine glasses, etc. We also have an herb garden and some fruiting trees, so help yourself to the lemons, kumquats, peaches, cherries, etc when they are ripe!Screen Porch: The screen porch has a picnic table and daybed to lounge and enjoy the breeze on a warm day. Great place for playing cards or reading a book on the daybed. Internet:The internet is super, duper fast! 750 Mbps. I work remotely from the house in the off season and never have any issues working from any room on video - even out of the porch & deck.The TV:We have a TV that has a Roku for watching all of the things.Dogs:Feel free to bring your dogs. There are some other cabins through the woods with dogs and a lot of wildlife around, so just keep an eye on them so that they don't run off.Bathrooms:We have 2 full bathrooms with tubs and showers. Still Waters is a 720 sq ft condo located at 794 Main Street #203,1.5 blocks from the Madeline Island Ferry dock. It is on the upper level of what the locals call “the blue building”, in the heart of La Pointe. A Café, coffee shop, moped rental, and laundry are in the lower level shops. Walking distance to all the restaurants. Still Waters is a one bedroom, with a queen size bed overlooking the veranda at the back of the building. It has one bath with a tub/shower combo. Full kitchen with a coffee bar. It has a spacious living room with Lake Superior views. Seven miles to Big Bay Town Park www.bigbaytownpark.com, 5.5 miles to Big Bay State Park https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/bigbay, and two blocks to Joni’s Beach. A rare beach front property. White sandy beach just 12 steps away.Find yourself staying at a true beach house on Madeline Island. This property is new for 2020 and has its own sandy beach. Walk out the door with your beach towel, beverages and snacks. You are right there. Need to restock your supplies walk up the 12 steps and get what you need. This property has spectacular views of barrier beach (the State and Town parks) and Michigan. Bring your paddle-board, kayak or water toys (that you can carry to the beach). Spend your days just lounging and letting go of the stress of city life. The property has a 10’ x 30’ screened in porch to enjoy a morning sunrise with a cup of coffee, take a nap, read a book, dine out on. It is a great outdoor space to enjoy free of mosquito's. The master bedroom has its own 10’ x 16’ deck with the same spectacular views. The main house has a large fireplace if you want an evening fire. Too hot but still want to enjoy a fire, gather around the fire pit just outside your door. This property is an eclectic mish mash of design styles. Enjoy a classic avocado green bathroom, galley style kitchen, bamboo floor, or barber chair. The house is currently configured to sleep 6. Unfortunately, I have to make the following statement. Recently we have had guests who have exceeded the max guests allowed. This is a direct violation of our reservation policy. As an FYI, if your number of guests exceed the max allowed you will be asked to leave and no refund will be provided. The three bedrooms consist of a total of 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. The property consists of 1 ½ baths. The second level has a ½ bath and the main floor (avocado bathroom) has the full bath with a tub shower.
