I was booked into one of the Villa Suites, and it was an experience in itself. The suite was beautifully appointed, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending elegance with comfort in a way that felt both indulgent and homely. Every detail from the plush furnishings to the serene garden views contributed to a sense of effortless relaxation. It truly felt like a private sanctuary.
The service throughout my stay was impeccable. Staff members were warm, attentive, and intuitive without ever being intrusive. Whether it was assistance with luggage, dining recommendations, or simply a friendly check‑in to ensure everything was perfect, the team consistently delivered with professionalism and charm.

However, the room itself could have been a bit more updated. While it was clean, the furnishings seemed a little worn, and the bathroom, although functional, had some minor issues like a leaky faucet.
The bed was comfortable enough, but I did find it a bit harder than I prefer. The hotel amenities were standard—there was a gym and a small pool, though I didn't have time to use either. The Wi-Fi worked fine, and I didn't encounter any issues with the air conditioning or heating during my stay.
One thing that stood out was the location. It was pretty convenient for my needs, close to a few restaurants and shops, though not overly special. I was hoping for a bit more from the hotel's restaurant, as the menu was somewhat limited and the food was just okay.
In short, it wasn’t a bad stay, but it didn’t blow me away either. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep without expecting anything extraordinary, this hotel will do the job.

I made my booking around 7pm for a stay later that same night, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. The rooms are impeccably clean and wonderfully spacious, easily ranking among the best hotel accommodations I've experienced during my visits to Johannesburg.
The attention to detail and commitment to guest comfort is evident in every aspect of this wonderful establishment. From the warm welcome at the front desk to the well-appointed, comfortable rooms, this hotel has exceeded my expectations and solidified its position as one of my top preferred places to stay in the city.
Although bathrooms may need a bit of an upgrade,
I am confident that I will be returning to this hotel on my future visits to Johannesburg.

The only thing is if you’re booked into a room further away, you must know that if it is raining you have to walk outside and to the entrance to fetch your food orders or get your uber — only downside.

The hotel's location was simply outstanding. It was conveniently situated, allowing easy access to nearby attractions and amenities. Whether it was exploring the city or embarking on a safari adventure, the hotel's central location made it a perfect base for my travels.
The service provided by the hotel staff was truly exceptional. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive assistance throughout my stay, I felt genuinely cared for. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that all my needs were met, including a special favor of allowing me to leave my suitcase while I was away on the safari. Their flexibility and accommodating nature were greatly appreciated.
The hotel itself was a sight to behold. It exuded elegance and charm, with its beautifully designed interiors and well-maintained facilities. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the tastefully decorated rooms to the inviting common areas. PPifpafExcellent stay at the Southern Sun in Rosebank. From the reception to the check-in, to the installation in the room, everything went very well. The staff (maintenance, bar, restaurant, reception and security) all worked with a smile. The room was very well equipped and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and very varied. The restaurant had excellent food and very good wine. A special thought to the staff who opened the gate at the back of the hotel every day for us, making it easier for us to leave for the Rosebank lung. The swimming pool, although cool, was always welcome at the end of the day. Even if some minor work was underway in the hotel, we were never inconvenienced. We will definitely be back.
A big congratulations to the hotel and all its staff. We will definitely be back.

NNKAYIt was lovely. Staff were friendly and accommodating and arranged airport pickup. The breakfast was lovely as well as room service. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Jhb. 💕❤️ The rooms were clean although amenities needed to be requested suxh as robes, slippers, shower gel, shampoo etc - not really nice after a long flight. As well as water, so if this could be provided first that would make it even great.

Holiday Inn was full so this was a close alternative.
Had amenities but their outlets were in the kitchen far from the bed? Not very business traveller or relaxing traveller friendly.
I booked a queen studio which had a kitchenette which was great for warming food etc. Decor a bit tired so could do with some love. But apart from a very dirty bottle left on the balcony it was clean.
Location is excellent for Rosebank Mall even if you have to play chicken to cross the road 😆
Customer service was severely lacking. I thought Radisson Red staff were slow but at least they were always there. You can't call frontdesk . It's all QR codes and WhatsApp. Late check out would be the cost of another night R1980. Staff had a, I dunno attitude and werent very helpful. 1 security guard and 1 young lady in the lounge are the only exceptions. Outlets in the lounge and office were local only and I had to really ask to get where I could buy adapters / converters.
Next time I'll go elsewhere. They're not customer focused enough for me.

DDeborah-AnneI have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too!
The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business.
The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades.
The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money!
Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)

GGuest UserThe New Hotel Parktonian is located in the Bramfontein district in the center of Johannesburg. Although this area is considered safe in the travel advice on the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the direct surroundings of the hotel leave something to be desired. I do not recommend taking the Gautrain to Park and then walking. It is better to call an Uber or an inDriver (cheaper) from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is very large and safe, a security guard opens the gates when a car arrives, not just anyone enters this hotel. The room is very spacious, it is a suite with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, a sofa, a flat screen TV and a kettle with tea and coffee available. The bathroom is adequate although the shower head did not work very well. There are free toiletries, clean towels and a hairdryer. I enjoyed my stay.
