"It was a normal hotel. The facilities and interior were a little old, but it was not a big deal. The view of the Nile was great. However, the heating was not working and it was cold."

"The location of this hotel is average, about 5 minutes' drive from the pier in the city center, but it takes 15 minutes to walk. There are no special businesses or shopping places nearby. There is a KFC across the road and I had two meals there. The hotel was renovated about 20 years ago, so it has a very shabby luxury feel. The hotel's elevator also needs to be opened manually, which is very nostalgic and not modern at all. But it is also a hotel that meets the basic requirements."

"The location is perfect; you can walk to the marina for meals and strolls. The staff are welcoming and helpful, and the room is cleaned daily. The pool overlooks the reception area, in front of everyone, but it's still pleasant."

"Although there was no elevator, it was inconvenient, and hot and cold water flowed well. The bathroom was very clean and the location was great. The breakfast was delicious and the rooftop restaurant had a great view."

"There was a smell of formaldehyde, and the information was registered incorrectly, which delayed me for a long time. The total cost was 900 Egyptian pounds. Because their house smelled of formaldehyde, I didn't want to live there, and they also deducted 250 Egyptian pounds from me as a penalty. Think carefully"

Venus Hostel

"As a budget Hotel it is good for short stay. Clean toilet and basic room. We stayed there for 5-6 hrs before my flight to Cairo. Being very tired we had a good sleep though there of noise of nearby restaurants and roads. Owner is a nice person and the reception Lady Enzi was well behaved and helpful. Negetive side was the entrance to the hotel."

"Right off the top, we did not stay at Mara House. We did, however, book 4 days of travel, transfers and tours directly with Mara / Mara House. Luxor has been on my bucket list as long as I can remember. Last month my husband and I finally made it here for our 40th anniversary. I pretty much knew what I wanted to see, I just needed help with planning and logistics. Unlike the large bus tours, I wanted a dedicated, personalised tour for just the two of us, with a knowledgeable guide and driver, seeing the the sites we deemed important to us. Mara was our Ace in the Hole. I came across her blog while researching our trip and I was hooked by her honesty of telling it like it is. I contacted her with our travel dates and trip desires.
