We had a 50th birthday party at The Hunting Lodge, and it was an easy stroll through a paddock to get to the party, and home again. Lovely hosts and the cottages are clean and cozy. "The outlook is beautiful, the room was lovely and clean. However, unfortunately we got the room next to the kitchen and it was very noisy, not well insulated at all. The kitchen is fantastic and very well equipped. The guy who booked us in was lovely. The only issue we had was that the owner charges 4% surcharge for using a card to pay which is a total rip off, especially when the payment is processed on line by them. The banks do not charge 4%."

Mount Eden is about 2.3 kilometers away for a hike."

"Excellent! Great location, close to the train station. It's a newly opened hostel, so the facilities are super new and in great condition. The downsides are that the kitchen is tiny and the fridge isn't big enough. Also, the front desk staff was a bit passive-aggressive."
