A special shoutout to the Swiss owners who were genuinely amiable and made us feel warmly welcomed. As for the accommodations, the rooms in Sala Lodges were a delightful surprise. Each room bore discrete charm with its tasteful decoration, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary elements. The authentic Khmer old houses are full of charm, yet modern and well preserved. The hotel’s kitchen offered a menu that might seem simple at a glance but was satisfyingly delightful upon tasting. Every dish we tried was prepared well, with fresh ingredients and flavors that are comforting yet exciting to the palate. The breakfast, in particular, deserves an extra note of praise for being consistently good, providing a delightful start to our days of exploration. Adding to the hotel’s allure was the inviting swimming pool, serving as a refreshing sanctuary after a day of touring the magical temples and vibrant markets of Siem Reap. During the wet season, the atmosphere around Sala Lodges was even more calming and soothing, with the soft sound of rain providing a comforting backdrop to our stay. To sum it up, our experience at Sala Lodges was nothing short of magical. From the excellent service to the beautifully appointed rooms and delightful meals, every aspect of the hotel contributed to a stay that was serene, comfortable, and absolutely enjoyable. I was extremely satisfied with our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Cambodia. First and foremost, the service was exceptionally attentive. Despite being a bit of a distance from Pub Street, they offered free tuk-tuk service, which only required a reservation. Furthermore, whether we were checking in, checking out, or simply returning to the hotel for a short break, staff members would always greet us at the entrance with jasmine-scented cold towels and iced water. The dining experience was also unforgettable. The chef was particularly kind and engaging, always interacting with us after serving the food to ask if it was to our liking. On mornings when we had to rush for our itinerary, the hotel staff would proactively pack the food we needed, including two delicious iced coffees, which was incredibly thoughtful. Lastly, the in-room experience was fantastic. Even though air conditioning isn't common in many places in Siem Reap, the hotel consistently ensured our room was perfectly cool, making for a truly pleasant stay. I only wish I had brought more cash to give the staff more tips to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the female dorm room. The common area was spacious, so I never had to worry about not having enough space to organize my luggage. Each bed had a shelf for personal items and a lockable locker, which was very convenient for travelers. My favorite part was the shower and toilet area; they always had pleasant music playing, which I thoroughly enjoyed during my stay.

The staff stand out through their exceptional attentiveness, genuine warmth, and remarkable kindness. From the very first moment, you feel welcomed and well cared for, as every request is met with a smile and a personal touch. It is this combination of a lovely setting and heartfelt service that makes a stay there so memorable.

We were welcomed with complimentary juice and snacks upon arriving at the hotel. They had a scent reminiscent of Cambodia and were delicious. The room was cozy and comfortable. The hotel offered a variety of tours, which could be booked at the front desk by the day before, making it very convenient. We joined two tours arranged by the hotel, and both were fantastic. The price was also reasonable. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the services and the cost.

I chose this hotel as it’s near the Angkor temples but that was not so important after knowing even if you stay at this hotel, you need a ride to reach to the temples. But the staff welcoming me on my first night was so kind enough to share anything about what ordinary tourists want, which is really appreciated. The room was spacious for myself and got so relaxed in the room. One thing that I may share to you is that due to the thinness of the wall, I heard almost what was spoken in my next room and some were very uncomfortable as you can imagine. Except for that, I am quite satisfied with the hotel and would love to come again. Oh I tried their breakfast and it was great in terms of taste, quantity and restaurant’s atmosphere.

Anjali was perfect. Quiet, restful, and beautiful. The pool is always shaded by dense foliage so it seemed like we were in the middle of the jungle. The restaurant was amazing, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange all our tours and activities. We were especially lucky to have Mr. Chhlen drive us around all week in the tuktuk and the van: not only was he kind and knowledgeable, making helpful suggestions for attractions and restaurants we wouldn’t have known about otherwise, but also he was very attentive to our kids and helped keep them safe and entertained when we were out temples and souvenir shops. We highly recommend Anjali and would stay again.

Funky Village was one of the most energetic and social places I stayed in Siem Reap. The moment you step through the door, you're greeted by a spacious courtyard, a large pool, and a 24-hour bar. The hostel feels like a small campus, with groups chatting or planning new activities in every corner. The location is perfect: a 5-minute walk to Pub Street, and close to the night market and many restaurants. It’s also easy to get to temple tours; the reception usually helps with tours and transfers, making booking tickets and tours effortless. It was so easy to drop my bag and start exploring right away. The rooms were spacious and clean; the dorm beds were comfortable, and the lockers were secure. The cleaning staff kept the common areas and bathrooms tidy, and the pool area was tidied up every morning. There are private room options too; it’s ideal for backpackers in terms of value for money. Wi-Fi is strong in common areas, though it can fluctuate in the rooms sometimes. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The cheerful receptionists gave travel tips, and the bar staff were both quick and chatty; they did their best to keep the hostel atmosphere lively. Thanks to night events, bar games, and pool parties, even solo travelers easily made friends. The intense party and social life is its biggest advantage, but also its only drawback: it’s not ideal for those seeking quiet due to the noise that lasts until late at night. Bringing earplugs or requesting a quieter room might be helpful. During peak seasons, common areas get crowded; finding a spot by the pool can sometimes be a matter of luck. Overall, if you want to meet new people, be close to nightlife, and have an energetic hostel experience, Funky Village is a great choice. If rest and tranquility are your priority, it would be better to opt for smaller, quieter boutique hostels in the city. For me, this was an unforgettable and fun stop for travelers looking to experience the social side of Siem Reap.
