Cabilao Sunset Dive and Beach Resort

9.7/10
Amazing

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, this place is truly a hidden paradise. The lush green lawns and vibrant flowers set the perfect tone, while the endless ocean view from every corner offers a sense of calm and tranquility. Each chair around the property gives you a unique perspective whether it’s the towering clouds, Cebu Island in the distance, or the magical sunset painting the sky with warm, rainbow-like hues. When night falls, the forest comes alive with fireflies, casting tiny glowing lights that feel like nature’s own fairytale. It’s a sight I’ll never forget. The food here is gut! You can enjoy both Filipino and German home-cooked dishes, and if you’re here, don’t miss the mashed potatoes and the deep-fried pork stuffed with cheese,,it’s absolutely delicious! What really made this place unforgettable was Joachim, the host. With years of diving experience (more than my age), he helped me overcome my fear of the underwater world. As a beginner, I was nervous, but he is calm and professional guidance made me feel safe and allowed me to experience a whole new world beneath the surface. You can even meet turtles while diving! With various dive spots surrounding the island, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The staff, including Jessel and Luci, were incredibly friendly and welcoming! This little village became a sanctuary where I could truly unwind and connect with nature. You won’t need music here. The harmony of the wind, waves, and birds is all you need. It’s pure, calming bliss. > The Wi-Fi is good as well, and there are universal power outlets for your convenience > You can easily walk to a nearby lighthouse, discover another quiet white beach, or even play or watching basketball or beach volleyball at the village court > There’s no 7-11(convenience stores) on Cabilao Island, so I recommend bringing the necessary things in advance

A small, cozy hotel with clean, well-maintained rooms and beautiful grounds. You can always grab a meal at the restaurant. The staff was incredibly helpful; they assisted us with booking a ferry, arranging transfers, and even drove us around to see the sights.

This is a fantastic hotel that makes you want to return. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-laid out, with great natural light and ventilation. The bedding was soft and cozy, providing an excellent night's sleep with absolutely no noise disturbances. The bathroom was spotless, and the hot water was consistent and convenient to use. The staff were friendly, attentive, and promptly resolved any issues. The hotel environment was quiet and elegant, immaculately clean, with thoughtful touches evident everywhere. The location is excellent, making travel easy, and there are plenty of amenities nearby. It offers incredible value for money, and my overall experience was perfect. Highly recommended!

The environment, location, and service are all excellent, offering great value for money. However, the room facilities aren't the best; the bathroom door and fittings are quite old, and the air conditioning is noisy. It would be even better if there was a table in the room to put things on.

The hotel overall is decent, and the environment is nice. However, the biggest drawback is the lack of hot water for showers. You have to request hot water from the front desk in advance. Unfortunately, even after I asked the front desk for hot water, I ran the tap for ages and only cold water came out – I almost caught a cold! In the end, a staff member boiled water in a kettle and gave me a bucket to shower. I don't know which genius came up with this failed energy-saving design of not even installing a water heater, it's truly speechless. Plus, the hotel doesn't provide thick duvets, only thin duvet covers, quite similar to some hotels in European countries.

The main advantage of this hotel is its location – close to the beach and the city center, yet set back from the main road. This means it's quiet and peaceful, but everything is still within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, and the linens and towels are clean. Hot water, a fridge, air conditioning, and a hairdryer – all the modern conveniences are there. Room cleaning is available upon request. The pool is clean, and the grounds are constantly maintained. Breakfast is à la carte and quite filling. There's a slight sewage smell in the bathroom, but we somehow managed to get used to it. Everything else is very good for the price.

The photos don't reflect what you'll actually get; they must be old. We had an 'enhanced' room, and I dread to imagine what the standard ones are like. The room was tiny, and you had to walk through the restaurant to get to it. You could hear the kitchen working and music from outside. But the biggest issue was the bathroom: it has a window that looks out onto the main corridor. My tall husband confirmed you can see everything if you peek in, especially if the shower curtain isn't fully closed! Plus, the room's 'terrace' also opens into the corridor. On the beach outside, they're building stairs for access, so if you're coming soon, be prepared for construction work. We stayed one night and moved to another hotel. We tried to cancel the remaining days, but the hotel wouldn't approve the cancellation.

I had a pleasant stay at Metrocentre Hotel in Tagbilaran. The location is very convenient, right in the city center and close to malls, restaurants, and other establishments, which made everything easily accessible. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it a relaxing place to unwind after a long day. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely consider coming back on my next visit to Tagbilaran.

The hotel's location is a bit far from Alona (a 15-minute drive, 250 peso). I stayed here for two days and found it extremely inconvenient. There are tricycles right outside, but they're a bit more expensive than usual. The lack of nearby restaurants and stores was quite bothersome. The hotel staff were quite friendly. Rooms facing the pool can be noisy, especially on weekends with music playing until 10 PM. If that bothers you, I'd suggest avoiding those rooms. On my first night, I didn't close the bathroom door and there was a strong sewer smell. It improved the second day after I kept the door closed. Also, the hotel didn't provide slippers during my two-day stay.
