As a frequent business traveler, this was my first time in Shanghai, and I only started planning my trip after arriving at Shanghai South Railway Station. Staying near People's Park Station is the best location for sightseeing. This hotel, located at that subway station, offers the best value for money.

**Restaurant:** The hotel's strength might be its restaurant (not necessarily the taste, but the overall service atmosphere). I had breakfast there, and everyone was quite professional, giving it a Hong Kong-style restaurant vibe.

**Facilities:** It's a century-old hotel, and the facilities are still quite good. It used to be a restaurant, so they're quite adept at hospitality management. The shower brand chosen for the facilities is excellent and very comfortable. The hotel's water quality must be good too, as I didn't experience any discomfort when brushing my teeth. The paper products on the vanity were good, and the slippers felt like those in a five-star hotel. However, adding a logo would definitely enhance the brand image.

**Hygiene:** The bedsheet in my single room had some dirt on it, which suggests it hadn't been changed.

**Ambiance:** Good. The hotel has a sense of history.

**Service:** Perhaps because Shanghai is an international metropolis, the service awareness is a bit lacking. I checked in at 1 PM, and the hotel entrance requires guests to carry their luggage up stairs to get inside. The greeter didn't help with my luggage or open the door. The front desk staff seemed to be in a bad mood. Although they assigned me a long, narrow room, I'm still grateful to the ill-tempered staff member for giving me a room on the 17th floor, which is the top floor. When I returned to the hotel around 11:30 PM, I saw a card indicating that feather pillows were available, and I wanted to try one. The operator first told me that there were standard pillows in the room. Only after I mentioned seeing the option for feather pillows did she say it could be arranged. To my surprise, they brought me a buckwheat pillow. I was quite speechless, but thanks anyway. Also, the pillow inserts in your rooms have stains on them.

The gentleman who checked me out helped me carry my luggage to the door, so thanks to him.

Also, there was writing from a previous guest in the small notebook by the bed. Personally, I found it a bit unsettling. I suggest checking these notebooks during cleaning.

I also filled out a feedback card; I wonder if you'll receive it.

**Guests staying at the hotel can purchase butterfly pastry gift boxes without queuing:** These butterfly pastries can only be reserved by scanning the QR code in the room and are only available in gift boxes. You can buy them in bags directly downstairs.

We stayed in the Villa Executive Double Room and had a fantastic experience. The room was located on a high floor, and the views from the bedroom were absolutely amazing. For us, the view was what really made the stay so special.

The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with an exceptionally comfortable bed.

We also really enjoyed the Executive Lounge access included with the room. The staff there were attentive, professional, and provided excellent service throughout our stay.

Breakfast offered a great selection of food, with plenty of options to choose from. The only downside was that it could get quite busy during peak times.

We loved the swimming pool facilities, especially the hot pool and sauna. In fact, we wish we had spent more time there during our stay because it was so relaxing and enjoyable.

The hotel's location is excellent. Situated in the French Concession area near Huaihai Road, it is close to the metro and within walking distance of many of Shanghai's main attractions.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, and we even loved its signature scent. The Art Deco-style lobby is particularly impressive. Overall, the hotel felt very professional and welcoming, and we had a wonderful experience. We would happily stay here again.

This hotel offers good value for money, especially considering the roughly 800 RMB price tag during the summer holidays for this prime location. That's why I booked it for almost 10 days. I stayed in the Jinbei Building, which I believe is the best building at the Jinjiang Hotel. The room was spacious enough, but the shower area was remarkably small and cramped – perhaps a Shanghai peculiarity. Also, the windows didn't have screens, so opening them for ventilation meant inviting in mosquitos and flies, which was quite inconvenient. Overall, this is a place where you're paying for 'nostalgia' and 'location.' If you want to experience the charm of an old Shanghai state guesthouse, it won't disappoint. However, if you're looking for the comfort of a modern luxury hotel, I'd suggest opting for the newly renovated rooms in the Jinnan Building and confirming the room details beforehand.

The underground parking garage doesn't have an elevator, and guests are only allowed to park on the third level, while the second level seems to be for staff. When I drove to the Jinjiang Hotel, the staff surprisingly didn't inform me that the underground parking was quite far from my room and lacked an elevator. I ended up straining my leg carrying my luggage up to the third floor – that's definitely a service oversight. Aside from that, the front desk staff and cleaning ladies were all very friendly. However, when I drove back to the Jinbei Building to pick up my luggage, one staff member's indifferent attitude was quite annoying.

Personally, I appreciate old buildings with historical charm, but it really comes down to individual preference.

The Jianguo Hotel is located in the heart of Xujiahui commercial district, at the intersection of Metro Lines 1, 9, and 11, making transportation incredibly convenient. The breakfast selection is extensive. The front desk staff, especially Xiao Gao, was exceptionally nice and provided excellent service. They upgraded me to an elegant king room and even included an extra breakfast. My trip to Shanghai coincided with a typhoon, so I couldn't fully enjoy sightseeing, but the hotel provided a perfect experience. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

I must give a special shout-out to our butler, Yuanyuan. Our entire family vacation was worry-free and comfortable, all thanks to her meticulous and incredibly thoughtful service!

Even before we arrived, Yuanyuan proactively reached out to discuss our travel needs. Upon learning that we had an elderly family member with mobility issues, she promptly prepared a wheelchair in advance and made all check-in arrangements. When we arrived, everything went smoothly without any waiting or hassle.

Anticipating our late arrival, she thoughtfully familiarized herself with the hotel's restaurants and afternoon tea areas. She proactively helped us coordinate and adjust our daily dining schedule to fit our family's tastes and routines, saving us from repetitive communication.

Throughout our five-day stay, Yuanyuan considered every big and small detail in advance. She always had things arranged before we even had to ask. She was incredibly responsive and attentive to every matter, surprising us with her thoroughness. We didn't have to worry about a single thing.

On our departure day, she even prepared a lovely little gift for the child, who was absolutely delighted. This kind gesture added so much warmth to our entire trip.

She never intruded excessively but always kept our family's needs in mind, demonstrating professionalism, sincerity, and just the right amount of thoughtfulness. Yuanyuan deserves full credit for this perfectly stress-free vacation. The next time we visit Lingang, we'd love to have her as our butler again! Highly recommended!

I'd also like to specially thank Xiao Ding and Yan Guohao from the Tea House – I've shared our experience in my review on Dianping. And to the two lovely ladies at the Chinese restaurant, we were so happy that I forgot to write down their names! The lady in black knew our child loved cherry tomatoes and specially ran after us as we left to hand them to the child. That little gesture moved us deeply. We took those cherry tomatoes with us, and we also took with us the thoughtfulness and dedication of the Jinjiang staff!

The hotel's location is pretty good, close to the subway station and Tianzifang. The hotel environment itself is just average though; the room facilities are quite old-fashioned. It's clean and spacious, but the lighting is a bit dim.

Also, the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, so there's banging and noise starting at 7 AM. Plus, food delivery isn't allowed upstairs; you have to go down to the delivery locker to pick it up yourself.

Overall, it's not too bad, an OK stay!

Stepping into the room, I was immediately struck by how spotless it was. The floors gleamed, the bed was perfectly made, the furniture was neatly arranged, and even the smallest details were meticulously taken care of. There wasn't a single speck of clutter; the air was fresh, and the environment felt both comfortable and reassuring. The attention to detail truly shines through, making for an incredibly relaxing and pleasant stay.

The hotel's location is excellent, and the room and balcony are spacious enough, especially the balcony, which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the breeze from the lake. The hotel's design is very stylish, but upon closer inspection, it's clear that the maintenance is just average. For example, the water in the decorative pond was grayish, the bamboo in May was yellowing, and there was rust in various places. It might have been peak dining hours during the holiday, but the overall feeling was a bit chaotic. Waitstaff were constantly rushing to clear tables or seat guests, and for both days of the buffet breakfast, we really had to find our own seats. Great location, average management, but decent value for money.

Although this 1980s-built hotel hasn't undergone major renovations, the value for money offered by this package is truly outstanding. We checked into a south-facing, fourth-floor room with a balcony and a view. While the facilities had a nostalgic charm from a bygone era, everything was fully functional. Sitting on the balcony in the afternoon, basking in the warm sun, with a vast lawn before me and the crisp chirping of birds in my ears, was incredibly relaxing.

The package included three zoo tickets (40 RMB each), and the hotel is just a 10-minute walk away. Even in winter, it was delightful to observe the various animals.

Dinner was served at the Jasmine Hall. We had three portions of abalone, sea cucumber, and mushroom thick soup, three pieces of beef, three sauced shrimp, and three steamed siumai, along with stir-fried Shanghai greens and a steamed perch weighing about a pound. Paired with rice, all the dishes were delicious and made with fresh ingredients.

Breakfast offered both Western and Chinese options and was decent overall, with the Western pastries being particularly good and worth trying.

The hotel grounds boast several ancient trees, some over a hundred years old. Villas 2 and 3, century-old Western-style buildings, were hidden among the trees, only viewable from a distance. More disappointingly, the nearby Sassoon Villa is now closed to the public as the owner has reclaimed the property, so we couldn't see it.

Overall, the hotel service was satisfactory. The front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant staff, and gatekeepers were all very enthusiastic. When we called to request bottled water, it was delivered very quickly.

All in all, for 570 RMB (one night), what we received was definitely great value for money.

The Garden Inn is truly fantastic! Every stay is consistently clean and hygienic, with spacious and bright rooms! The green plants on the windowsill are vibrant and full of life! The bed is just the right firmness, allowing for a comfortable sleep until you naturally wake up.

The hotel's front desk staff provide quiet, gentle, and smiling service throughout, which is very pleasant.

Even the hotel's breakfast offers a wide variety of options, combining both Western and Chinese dishes.

The hotel's surrounding area is incredibly convenient for public transport, with easy access to the subway.

Definitely worth recommending to more people!

Pros: Located in Haidian District, it's surrounded by numerous universities and close to attractions like the Summer Palace, Old Summer Palace, and Fragrant Hills. Guests get free access to the gym and swimming pool. The executive suite is spacious and large.
Cons: It's situated between Zhichunlu and Wudaokou subway stations, so it's a bit of a walk. There are no dining options near the hotel itself; you have to go closer to the subway stations to find restaurants.

Came to Beijing with the kids for spring break, and didn't arrive at the hotel until after 10 PM. The front desk upgraded us from a standard room to a suite, which was a very pleasant surprise! The hotel is located within the Second Ring Road, and it's within walking distance to the subway, so the location is great. Although the hotel is a bit older, it's generally well-maintained. The only minor downsides were that the shower drain was a bit slow, and it was quite warm in the room at night in late April, but the air conditioning wasn't cooling.

My stay at Beijing Fujian Hotel was an excellent overall experience. The comfort level was top-notch, truly exceeding my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, with well-appointed soft furnishings and hardware. The soundproofing was good, ensuring a high quality of rest. The hotel's location is a major plus, being very close to the Bird's Nest stadium. Taking the subway is incredibly convenient, making it the perfect choice if you're coming specifically for a concert at the Bird's Nest – it saves so much time and hassle. The surrounding area has great amenities, with a wide variety of breakfast spots downstairs and in the neighborhood, including a full range of Chinese breakfast options, easily satisfying daily breakfast needs. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit to Beijing.

The hotel is located in the city center, a 10-minute walk from the Bell Tower. The surrounding area is bustling with businesses, making it convenient to find all sorts of snacks. The hotel offers free underground parking, which is a rare find in this area. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even upgraded my room, which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend! 👍

The hotel was generally very nice and convenient, not far from the highway exit and very close to the Olympic Sports Center (about a ten-minute drive). Even the river-view rooms had great views, and the rooms were quite spacious. The environment was really nice, but it's a prime location. I went on New Year's Eve, and it was incredibly crowded. I wanted to try the breakfast, but unfortunately, I was too late to get up, so I won't comment on that (I think a small open-air balcony would be nice; I highly recommend it). The only drawback was that the facilities had some minor issues. I drove there right after work, already exhausted, and wanted to rest before going out for dinner and entertainment. However, the bedside socket was faulty, and it took about 40-50 minutes to check and repair it. It was really frustrating. This is the bare minimum for a hotel; any room problems should be addressed beforehand. I don't know if the previous guests didn't report it or what, but this kind of basic mistake shouldn't be made. Furthermore, no staff member apologized at all. The only apology was from the repairman who said something like ”sorry to bother you.” No one from the front desk or the housekeeper inquired about our well-being. I just wanted to ask, ”Where is the apology?” My first stay wasn't great. When checking in, I asked if I could have a late check-out. The receptionist, Ms. Zheng, was very kind and let us check out at 2 PM. Considering it was New Year's Day, being able to check out at 2 PM was still a huge relief. The concierge was also very helpful; he even helped me with my luggage, although I only had two backpacks, and explained how to use the lighting controls.

In short, the price wasn't really good value for money. Without the receptionist and concierge, I would have given this hotel a bad review. It's unbelievable that such a large hotel isn't as good value as hotels costing 200-300 yuan these days; it's ridiculous.
