Pleasantly surprised! This place is great for a stay in Kaohsiung. It's about a 15-minute walk from Kaohsiung Station. The free snacks and ice cream are a nice touch and quite tasty, plus the laundry room is well-maintained.

There's more than one Takahashi Inn around Kaohsiung Station, but this one is right across the street from the station, which was super convenient for me since I had a lot of luggage. The hotel breakfast was excellent; I particularly enjoyed the hot Chinese options like congee, stir-fries, and tremella soup. Their scallion oil crispy pastry was fantastic! (See picture 2). The hotel doesn't serve dinner, but the famous Liuhe Night Market is less than a ten-minute walk away (See picture 3). I especially loved the hotel's 24-hour self-service laundry room.

This hotel definitely deserves a special shout-out! My experience was fantastic right from check-in. For those who enjoy culinary experiences, I highly recommend checking out their 'one night, two meals' package. I loved the ice cream with nachos at the ground floor cafe. The evening snacks and breakfast on the second floor were also delicious. While it might not have the extensive variety of a typical star-rated hotel buffet, it offers a great chance to try various local snacks. Every single braised meat, minced pork, and topping was incredibly flavorful, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of a rice cooker so you could serve yourself hot rice. You could really tell that the restaurant staff and managers were genuinely dedicated to service and food quality, constantly moving around and attending to guests.

The room was spotless, and the lighting was much brighter than what you'd typically find in comparable hotels. The bathroom was also more spacious. The only minor drawback was a gap of about 1cm under the room door, which made me think the soundproofing might not be great. However, I wasn't disturbed by any noise from outside during my stay.

Was a return trip to this hotel. Will definitely go back to this hotel when I go back to Kaohsiung again but will definitely get a even better room. Got the superior double room the previous time,the facilities in the room was much better. This time round toilet is only basics.

Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Location is a bit off from town but still easy to access by train and taxi.
Nice breakfast with complimentary snacks and coffee throughout the day. There’s complimentary laundry service too. Very thoughtful!

The hotel is a bit old, and there was a slight musty smell upon entering, but it was clean. The room was very spacious and even had a small sitting area. Breakfast was decent, with congee, salad, bread, soup, and two hot dishes (which changed daily). Drinks included milk, coffee, orange juice, and various tea bags. The hotel thoughtfully opened up the breakfast area for guests to chat, relax, or pack their luggage. The staff were also very kind and friendly. Overall, it was a good stay.

provides breakfast, afternoon tea and supper. hotel is frequently used to host tourists staff will advise guests to avoid peak hour timings at breakfast and super service.

room is clean, and well equipped with amenities. do bring own toothbrush and toothpaste, razor as they do not provide in accordance to taiwan policies on disposable items.

only issue is that the soundproofing done between floors is not as good

We booked this hotel for our 3-day, 2-night stay in Kaohsiung. We were there to see a performance at Weiwuying, and since the hotel isn't near an MRT station, driving was more convenient.

Overall, we were pretty satisfied. In addition to the complimentary buffet breakfast, they offered cookies and drinks from the afternoon until evening. There was also a self-service late-night snack bar available from 7 PM to 9 PM.

Our quad room wasn't huge, but the bathroom was quite spacious, and we appreciated the separate wet and dry areas. They also have a self-service laundry room. Although we didn't use it during our stay, I think it's a fantastic amenity overall.

The hotel staff were very kind and friendly. The location of the hotel was all right. The breakfast provided by the hotel was okay. Though, having the steps to enter and exit the hotel breakfast area on the first floor was rather inconvenient and not safe. My elderly mother almost fell down. They should consider certain ways on how to make it safer such as adding a ramp. Also, my elderly step-father actually did fall down in the guest room because the hotel had a step to go up to and down from the bed area. He almost hit his head against the wall. It would be a good idea for the hotel management to consider how to rectify these types of situation.

They offer afternoon tea and snacks, and even a late-night supper from 7-9 PM, so you're basically eating from morning till night – it was a fantastic experience! The water pressure in the room was excellent, making showers super comfortable. The only downside was the bed; it was quite soft and wobbly, so much so that when the person next to me turned over, it felt like an earthquake 😂. The location is also quite convenient. I'd definitely visit again if I have the chance!

I recently stayed at the Kindness Hotel Tainan Minsheng Branch, and the overall experience was really comfortable! The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very relaxing to sleep on. The staff were incredibly friendly, always smiling from check-in to check-out. What made me happiest was the breakfast: they offered a wide variety of Chinese and Western buffet options, all delicious. After a satisfying meal, I had plenty of energy to start my day of exploring Tainan. The hotel also has a 24-hour coffee, tea, and ice cream bar, which is super convenient if you want a snack in the evening. The value for money is truly excellent, making it a very satisfying stay. The location is also very convenient; stepping out, you're right in the heart of Tainan's delicious food and shopping streets, perfect for solo travelers and relaxing getaways. Highly recommend overall!

The hotel's promotional material stated that ice cream was available 24/7. If there was an issue preventing this, they should have updated their advertising and politely informed guests, instead of having staff speak to guests like they were criminals, saying, '...it's not time for free ice cream yet...' This left a very bad impression.
