Great
GGuest UserThis hotel in Interlaken offers great value for money, and I was very satisfied:
1. The location is unbeatable; it's just across the road from the train station and has Migros and Coop nearby.
2. It's clean and tidy, with daily housekeeping. Although the room is small, both of our large suitcases could be fully opened, and there's even a small balcony, which is a great bonus.
3. The front desk has a 24-hour coffee machine and hot water, so it's very convenient to go downstairs and grab a drink whenever you're thirsty.
4. There's no air conditioning, but there's a fan, which was perfectly adequate for sleeping even on the hottest days.
The downsides are that the breakfast selection is very limited and unappetizing. Also, if you turn on the lights at night, insects and flies come in (but this seems to be common throughout Interlaken due to the many cows and their manure…). However, if you tell the front desk, they'll come with various tools to help you get rid of them, so the service is still excellent.

AAnonymous UserThe room is spacious with balcony. Water pressure is good but hard to fix the wanted temperature. There is no fridge in room, you hv to use a small fridge in common area. There is a microwave and kettle provided in the basement. bugs will fly in your room if you turn on the light and open the window. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great thought not much choices.
A bit far from all the super market but in walking distance. You can use the spa in the hotel but on steam room and sauna only.

Ppetter62First, let's talk about the location. From Interlaken Ost station, turn right and walk straight for about 280 meters, and you'll arrive. Actually, you don't even need to exit the station; just walk to the end of the platform, and it's much closer. We discovered this later and always used that route – just make sure you know which platform to walk along directly, avoiding the underground passage.
Second, the hotel service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. They gave a thorough introduction to the hotel and important notices, specifically mentioning not to put food waste in the bins. For self-catered food, there's a dedicated dining area (Pic 8) where they provide free plates and cutlery, which you just need to return to the bar counter after use. We had to book a suite because all other rooms were full. The room was quite spacious, with a small balcony offering a nice view of the mountains behind (Pics 1, 2). The bathroom had a massage bathtub with lavender and ice salt available, which was incredibly relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was served in the back garden, and the setting was lovely.
The only drawback was that the temperature hit 30 degrees Celsius during our first few days, and the room had no air conditioning. (Hotels with AC are rare there, which is understandable, but I still hope they'll improve this in the future, especially with global temperatures rising). After contacting the front desk, they provided a fan, which helped a lot. In the following days, the temperature dropped, and it was fine; after all, it gets cool in the mountains at night. The hotel's decor style truly resembles a vintage European hotel. Plus, there's a row of seats and tables outside the entrance, which is a great spot to sit and enjoy the street view in the evening. Directly opposite the hotel is the cable car station for the Harder Kulm viewpoint, and Hohematte Park is just a short walk away.
Third, directly across from the train station is a large Coop supermarket that has pretty much everything. As others have mentioned, the roasted chicken is indeed cheap and delicious, about 7 CHF for half a chicken. It closes at 7 PM, but there's also a smaller Coop supermarket inside the train station that closes at 9 PM. It has fewer varieties than the main one, but it still covers basic food needs, even if the selection isn't huge.

Jjoan_chongOverall, we had a pleasant stay at Interlaken Youth Hostel. The location is very convenient, especially for travellers who plan to explore Interlaken and the surrounding areas.
It is right next to Interlaken Ost station, making it very easy to catch trains to places like Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen. There are also buses nearby, and getting around without a car is very easy.
The hostel is also within walking distance of the town centre, restaurants and supermarkets, which was very convenient for us.
The room was clean and the facilities were adequate for a short stay. The biggest advantage for us was definitely the excellent location and easy access to public transportation.
Would recommend it to travellers looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay in Interlaken, especially if you are travelling by train.

GGuest UserThe location is super convenient, right next to Platform 1 of Interlaken West station. There's a large supermarket directly opposite where you can buy groceries to cook in the apartment, and plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
We stayed in an apartment, which was very spacious, and the facilities were well-maintained and quite new.
Although we arrived in late May, we unfortunately hit a European heatwave with temperatures around 27-28 degrees Celsius. Since the apartment didn't have air conditioning, it was quite uncomfortable. I saw in the reviews that the hotel usually offers two fans per apartment, so I immediately called the front desk to ask if they could provide one. They said they could provide one. As there were two bedrooms, I asked if we could have two, and the front desk directly replied: 'No, you can only request one fan.' Their attitude felt a bit unfriendly. Also, in apartments without air conditioning, a fan should really be considered a basic amenity and not something guests have to specifically request.

GGuest UserCar can park at the hotel entrance free of charge. Room is spacious for 4 people. Staff are friendly and provided us free travel card within interlaken area. My daughters are happy that the staff gave them chocolate and candy were put on the bed at Day 1. 10 minutes walk from Interlaken West Station. Not many choice for breakfast but the taste is good. Hotel cost is super expensive during summer time in Interlaken......but I still think this is a brilliant hotel.

GGuest UserOur stay at Hotel Chalet Swiss was one of the most amazing stays we have had. Our room had a clear view of Jungfrau which we could look out to every morning; the room was spacious and clean with that authentic Swiss Chalet interior. The breakfast was also excellent in a lovely dining room where the morning
sunlight lights up the whole room. The staff were warm and friendly, especially the receptionist Natasha, who was always warm and genuine. The best hotel we’ve stayed in in Switzerland, and resting here made our amazing trip even better
