"I recently stayed at the Solana Beach Resort during my trip to Mauritius and wanted to share a balanced look at the highlights and a couple of unexpected drawbacks of my stay. The Highlights: Comfort & Tranquility The Room: We stayed in the Junior Suite Sea View, and it did not disappoint. The room was incredibly spacious, clean, and came equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Wake up to the sea view was a major plus. Location: Situated near Belle Mare on the eastern coast of Mauritius, the resort is in a very calm, quiet, and peaceful area. If you are looking to disconnect and relax, this location is ideal. Activities & Amenities: The resort has its own spa and offers fantastic sea excursions right from the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary water activities, including the glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, and paddle boating. The Food & Restaurants: The dining options were a definite highlight of our stay. The main restaurant, Cinnamon, serves an overall good buffet for both breakfast and dinner, featuring a great variety of multiple cuisines including Mauritian, Indian, and Western dishes. Additionally, the resort features another on-property restaurant focused on fine dining that serves excellent Italian cuisine. The Drawbacks: Isolation & Nickle-and-Diming Quiet Nights: Because the resort is far from the main city centers, there is absolutely no local market or nightlife/entertainment nearby. Once the sun goes down, the property becomes very silent. This is perfect for couples or relaxation, but worth noting if you prefer a bit of evening energy. The Water Policy (A Major Disappointment): This was the biggest letdown of our stay. The resort provides 2 complimentary bottles of water daily, but charges for any extra bottles you need in the room. Worse yet, water is chargeable during dinner. Having traveled to almost 40+ countries, this is the very first time I have ever encountered a resort charging for standard table water during a dinner service. For a resort of this caliber, charging for basic drinking water feels incredibly cheap and dampens the overall guest experience."

"A truly remarkable stay. We are both kicking ourselves for not staying longer but we will be back for sure. From the shuttle drivers to the restaurant workers to the golf staff, they are a real credit to the company. Kind, helpful, proactive and lovely human beings. For golf lovers, this resort really has it all. Both courses are exceptional and the experience is second to none. You don’t have to worry about a thing as it’s all sorted out for you. The resort itself is second to none with facilities in abundance. The breakfast is a real showstopper. I would recommend booking dinner in advance as we struggled to get into the restaurants due to them being fully booked. Room service was exceptional though. An all round 5 staff experience and we can’t wait to come back"

"A good hotel with a beautiful and well-designed area. A spacious beach where turtles swim. Breakfast is quite uniform, but there is everything.  Convenient entrance to water, beach clean. You can take a cayak for rent free. Defects: lunch and dinner are expensive if not all on. The hotel is quite old.  In general, we liked: A picturesque beach, a benign staff, lucky to see turtles in the ocean."

"The hotel is in the north, and the airport is in the south (a bit dizzy), 50 minutes drive from the airport. There are hotels on the beach. This French hotel is 3 stars locally. The hotel is not big but still beautiful. If you have time, you can spend a day in the hotel. The hotel is very private. There is a supermarket on the left and restaurants and some shops on the right. The clothes sold are at tourist prices. Go out on the right, near the sea, and there is a police station. Around 15 from Port Louis The service staff are good, the breakfast is full but there are really few things... Speaking French has an advantage over English. There is a 20% discount for spa reservations 48 hours in advance, and helicopters can also be booked. The hotel does not provide slippers and toothbrushes, please bring your own, as well as adapters. When checking out on the 7th, the front desk will charge 160 and say that the two bottles of water in the room are chargeable. Damn, the little brother who checked in clearly said that it is free. There are tea bags and coffee bags next to it. What do you label? No, the small bottle of water sells for 10 rupees and you charge 80? ? ? I was anxious to wait for my friend to take me to the airport without going to talk. In short, friends who go to Maoqiu pay special attention to the tips. People in restaurants and supermarkets should pay attention to it. There are more Chinese people. Tips are 1-2 US dollars per day. If you encounter a service staff who does not say hello to deduct the tip in advance, you will become a habit that Chinese people are stupid."

"The hotel is in the west, very big, with many rooms. You can surf on the public beach in front of the hotel, and the hotel provides free surfboards. The pier for whale and dolphin chasing boats is right at the door. Whale chasing boats must be booked in advance. It is best to find a local Chinese guide to book a boat with radar. The hotel includes breakfast. It is about 3 kilometers away from Casela Zoo, which is very close. You can make an appointment directly on Casela's official website for a 10 o'clock walk with lions, and join the 11:30 zoo sightseeing tour bus an hour later. Basically, you can complete the trip in half a day. You can arrange surfing in the afternoon, and eat crispy pizza at the pizza shop next to it in the evening, and then go back to the hotel pool to listen to the band singing."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A unforgettable stay in Mauritius Mauritius gave us emotions that we will always be carrying with us, but what made this really special holiday was the welcome and excellence of the hotel. Elegant and well-treated rooms in every detail, a refined kitchen with local and international flavors, always smiled and available staff, card beaches and an atmosphere of absolute relaxation. Every moment it was thought to make us feel cocktailed: from the unfair service to the experiences offered, everything has exceeded our expectations. A place we would advise who wishes to live Mauritius with the greatest comfort, luxury and authenticity. Thank you for making our trip simply perfect."

"Let's talk about it from a few conveniences Facilities: three restaurants, two swimming pools, one of which is heated. The breakfast in the main restaurant is quite exquisite, and the food I ate for three days has not changed. The floating restaurant for dinner is very interesting and tastes good. It's just a little cold (it was winter when I went there). The spa is good and worth experiencing. I didn't try golf and shooting. It's a pity that there is no snorkeling activity. Sanitation: Very good, your room can be cleaned twice a day, and you will be asked at 7 o'clock in the evening if you want to tidy up the room and send you more water. Very good. Environment: This is too cozy to say. Service: This is very good, much better than the five-star hotels in the island cities in China, probably because of the enthusiasm of Africans. If you have to say the disadvantages, the hotel is very good, but it is a little old. The creaking sound of the floor in the room is very loud, and I am worried about waking up my companions when I get up at night."

"Very good hotel, wake up every day listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Most of the service staff are hospitable. The only dissatisfaction is that the room cleaning is too procrastinating. I left at 9 o'clock in the morning and hung up the hygiene sign. I have not cleaned it up at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Eventually they wanted to come clean and I refused. I needed a break. The hotel has a main restaurant, including four cuisines in Japan, Arabia, Thailand and India. There are also three open-air restaurants, saying that its restaurant is high, in fact, it is an open-air restaurant made of parasols and coconut leaves, which can prevent light rain. The three open-air restaurants are American, Malaysian and seaside barbecue. Whether you are two meals or three meals, each person can not consume more than 4,000 rupees, that is, RMB620.00, more than part of it pays by yourself. Generally, the appetizer soup is 800 rupees, and the main course is about 1200-1500 rupees. Thai food is the cheapest. The appetite is not big, 2,000 rupees is enough. If you need dessert, you may need to add 600-800 rupees. It is recommended that the small amount of meals be ordered including breakfast, and the others order their own meals, plus 10% tip, two people have a meal 600-800 RMB is enough. The sunset on the hotel balcony is also very beautiful"

"Fabulous hotel. We went AI which was a good call considering there were no bars or restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We stayed in a Beach Bliss junior suite which was large, well equipped with a super comfortable bed. The drinks and food included in the AI package were great with some international spirits. Cocktails were amongst the best we have had. The food options were also top notch with lots of choice and variety. All restaurants including the main buffet were good with our favourite speciality restaurants being Jade (Asian) and Waves (Seafood). The spa was ok and we didn’t try the gym or water sports. The free snorkelling trip, Mauritian cooking class and BBQ night at Waves were all great fun. Special thanks to Geetanjalee for doing a fantastic job keeping our room tidy, Akhilesh for his cocktail making skills and Stephanie for doing a great job hosting the cooking class. All in all a fabulous stay and the only feedback I would give for improvement would be to speed up the check-in process and add some variety to the evening entertainment."

"It is definitely a paradise for food and food. For those who need to travel early every day, we have specially opened breakfast from 4:00-7:00, and the service is first class. If there is Chinese service, it is perfect."
