"Fantastic lodging. Best value I have had in dozens of stays. Clean, classy and large room with huge window to the main streets. Nice little hip cafe in the same hallway on the same floor. Nice bathroom, great bed. The location is also fine, even though it is a kilometer or so to the city walls. The naming Old town guesthouse isn’t much correct, but it doesn’t matter for the overall impression of this hotel."

"Located within the ancient town but away from the hassling buzz, this hotel has been bookmarked since I last visited datong in June. I'm glad that I finally get to stay here although I wanted to rest in the sun out in the open space but couldn't due to winter. Overall, great service and nice breakfast which is about 10mins away!"

"This is a themed hotel featuring the titular character Totoro from My Neighbor, Totoro so the design of the hotel was quite interesting. The room was surprisingly big. I liked that the wet and dry areas for the bathroom were separated. They have free coffee/tea in the lobby. If your room is in the 4th floor, there are some steps leading up to the room so it is a bit inconvenient if you have heavy luggage but the overall experience was really good. The service is also quite good as they responded quickly to my questions!"

"I initially booked for one night but I decided to stay for another night. Total two nights in the same room. Room is very clean, very quiet and the bed was superb, I slept very well. Staff super friendly and helpful. Hotel's location is about 10mins taxi from the old town centre but it is very convenient. If you don't like super crowded area with noisy street vendors and many tourists, I would recommend this place. I personally really enjoyed staying at this hotel, will definitely stay here again if I come back to Datong in future."
